After seeing somethings that was so pleasant and being ditched by the lady named Rose, Tanya was out on the road again looking for a fresh start. A fresh clean slate so to speak. Somewhere to start over again and a new. Tanya had been riding for hours now, and every now and then she had to put more fuel into the Bike by taking it from other vehicles or took it from what was left of the fuel tanks at Gas Stations and abandoned fuel rigs. The Russian woman wasn't sure how far she had traveled since she had the bike in third gear most of the time. Zipping in and out of vehicles that were on the roads she took. Her eyes picked up a sign as she rode on, and it said "Welcome to New Hampshire." Thinking that she only crossed a state or two. She wouldn't have imagined that she went that far north and towards the Ocean. Without a further thought, she just shifted into fourth gear and had that bike screaming like a Banshee.
Going through Cities and small towns, there wasn't a place she would stop at until she was ready to stop. It was as if fate was guiding her to a certain destination. Like someone was pulling the strings for her and aiming her on a set course. But when she saw woods, she felt a sense of peace as it was a beautiful sight to see. All the green of Pine trees everywhere. Thunder cracked over head. Giving a sign that a storm was rolling over head. Lowering herself as close to the Gas tank as she could, she pushed the bike as hard as it could go since she wanted to beat the storm and find shelter fast. Racing against the clock, she saw another sign that said "Now entering Chapman Brook". Rolling in fast as nearly as fast as lighting, she past a few homes on either side at which she could have stopped and spent to wait out the storm, but she wanted a place that was very sturdy. Like a store or an apartment building. A building that has survived many days and nights against storms as such.
Her and her bike raced into the town now near the Winnisquam River. There was a bunch of buildings on either side and one she would need to stop and spend her time in. One that she could get comfy after fortifying it so that she was safe from wondering eyes such as the dead or raiders. Turning off of Laconia Rd and onto Hill Rd, she went down the road and found more houses. "Beggers cant be choosers I suppose" She said to herself as she saw more homes on either side. But some on her left had Docks which was for boats for the river. Pulling into a small drive way of a two story house that had a Red roof to it. Pulling the bike around back, she dropped the kick stand and turned off the engine. Dismounting the bike, she looked around. The area seemed nice enough. But her focus soon went to the house again as she began to approach the back door. Walking up a couple of steps, she tried the handle to it. It turned with a creaking sound. Sighing slowly, she took out her Paraknife from her boot sheath and readied herself.
Pushing the door in, she slowly slid herself into the doorway and shut the door behind her. Tapping the side of her blade hard onto the counter, she waited in silence to see if any other noises were heard. To her surprise, there was no other sound. No smell of death and decay was in the air. It just felt like the inhabitants of the home prior just packed up what they needed and left Dodge. Since she was standing in the Kitchen, she checked on the food situation. Opening up a few of the cupboards, she saw there was some canned food and alot of boxed food that was torn into and spread out across. Walking through, she saw a thin door. Opening it, she saw it was a pantry and did she hit the mother load. With five shelves on all the walls inside of it, it had even more canned food that was jammed packed. There was even a few jars on the floor that had clear liquid inside of them. Picking one up, she undid the top of the one and took a sniff of it. And what she smelled was Pure alcohol that had the smell of Pear to it. Tanya knew what it was. "Woooh! Now these people here are my type of crowd. Wish I knew them while I growing up, would have loved to have some of this Moonshine back then. I'll save these babies for later."
Putting the cap back on and tightening it. She closed the door. Walking through the house, she saw that it was a man and a woman who were busy in life. The third bedroom was converted into a big office with a laptop on the desk with a stack of paperwork. Shaking her head, she just left that room. Walking into the master bedroom, she saw a California King sized bed and her eyes lit up like a Christmas Tree. Going over to it, she sat down onto it and relaxation shot through her which in turn made her lay down. And we all know what happens with that little song and dance. Tanya fell asleep shortly after as she placed her weapons close by that she could reach them with a mere move the arm so that determining where she woke up, she could just grab one while laying on either of her sides. It was a peaceful slumber. For now, it was a safe haven for her. A Blessing in many ways in one.
