It was a nice, quiet morning in the forest, at the cabin that sat a few miles away from Altoona. Kyden always love the quietness- though he wouldn't mind some bird's singing. He stepped out of the cabin, looking for danger and once he saw none, he whistled and went to the garden, a pitt pull coming up behind him, and started to pick some of the vegetables that it held and put them in a basket. Once he was finished, be put the basket on the counter in the kitchen before grabbing his weapons and holstered them.
"Lets go, boy." kayden said before he went outside with Orion and securing the door shut. "Lets see if we can go find some food."
The two walked away from the cabin and into the forest. Kayden knew exactly where to go and wait until game walked by. There was a river that wasnt too far from the cabin, possibly a half a mile. Of course, Kayden knew this terrain like the bad of his hand now and he can get there in a decent amount of time. When he got there, he hunkered down with Orion and waited.
Zoe crumples to the ground, tears stinging in her eyes. She pulls down her shirt slightly from her shoulder and hisses through her teeth when she sees the ugly knife wound near her collar bone. The man had pinned her to the ground, but she was quick to pull her gun out. Unfortunately, she was not quick enough to come away unscathed from the encounter. She had never felt pain like it before when the knife first broke through her skin. It now throbbed intensely, Zoe has no idea if the sloppily wrapped bandages around it were doing her any good. She presumes it's better than letting the bacteria in the air get to it.
She had been walking for some time now, never aware of where she was going. Zoe pulls herself back up and sighs. One foot after another, she forces herself for a few more minutes until she comes across to a river. Satisfied, she pulls her bag off and crouches down. She had been running low on water and she happily welcomed this source with open arms. Zoe filled her empty bottles up, taking a long drink before adding a bit more and quickly packing them back up. Cautious, she looked around, seeking out any enemies. Her attention is drawn to a figure further upstream and she hastily approaches, drawing her gun out and holding it expertly, like her father had taught her. When she gets close enough, she can see the person is with a dog. The dog turns its head at where she holding refuge and Zoe swears quietly under her breath.
The person is well-equipped and there's a good chance they know how to use every weapon on them. Zoe smirks, her father taught her how to fight, shoot and survive. She knew she was more than capable. With a second thought, Zoe shoots forwards, far quicker than ever knew she could go, and pounces in the person. She holds back a hiss from the agony in her shoulder but hoists herself so that she is holding a cruelly sharp blade to person's throat.
"I don't want to kill you. If give me your shit, I won't." She croaks lazily, not a hint of fear or expression in her face or tone of voice.

Kayden lets out a surprised yelp as he landed on his back with this girl on top of him, holding a knife to his throat. Well, he sure wasn't expecting this. He listened to what she had to say before he quickly singled Orion to stay when he noticed the dog beginning to show aggression before giving this new comer his full attention.
"You could have just asked, you know. I have limited weapons to give but i do have food to spare." He eyed her shoulder. "I do have medical supplies too, I can patch you up if you want."

Zoe tilts her head, letting her hair fall from behind her ear and frame the side of her head. She presses the knife deeper into his throat, not hard enough to draw blood but hard enough to leave an impression. She leans forward slightly and drags the knife further upwards, until it sits under his chin.
"Try anything, I'll kill you." She draws the knife back, shifting her weight back in her feet and stands up. He's no older than she is, but Zoe isn't willing to take any chances. He's well equipped and far stronger than she is, he could've probably thrown her off. Her gaze is drawn to the dog standing loyally over him as he pulls himself up,
"I'll accept your offer of help, so long you don't blow my brains out." She readjusts her bag strap and sheathes her blade by her side. Zoe's hand hovers over the strap that holds her gun, if this stranger makes any sudden moves, she won't hesitate to shoot,
"Have you seen a guy, no taller than me? He's got blonde hair and a fire axe." Zoe says quietly, Oscar was probably dead. It was worth a shot though. She couldn't ignore the ebbing of hope that existed in the back of her head.

Kayden stands once she's off. He patted Orion's head once before straightening and looking at her. He listened to her threat before rolling his eyes. He kinda wished that he would meet someone that won't threaten him at the first meeting.
"Don't try anything towards me and my buddy and I won't have to." He looked at her wearily. "I'll only blow your brains out if you try any harm towards me and Orion."
He watches her hand before his attention was caught by her question. "No, sorry. Follow me." He turns and starts walking back towards his cabin. "Who are you anyways?"
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Zoe hisses, shooting him a dirty look with a sneer upon her face. "I could've killed you and I'm starting to wish I had."
She couldn't help but notice how laid-back about this encounter he was. She listened to his question, pausing a minute before answering.
"Zoe. I had a group but there was some conflict and I got split up from my boyfriend, it's been a while but there might be a chance he's alive." She follows the stranger cautiously, flickering her eyes over him and locating the position of any weapons he had.

Kayden just ignored what she said before listening to her story. It must be great being a part of a group. Oh well, first things first though. He could hear her following him, which was good. Orion stuck close to his side, not going up ahead and always waiting for him to climb over any obsicules that got in his way like a fallen branch.
"Kayden. Been living in a cabin since the start of this hell. Only company I got is Orion here. At the beginning, I let my Cabin be sort of a safe haven, let people sleep and eat their fill there until they are ready to move on. Now a days, no one travels past it, so i haven't had any visitors in quite some time."
"I guess you're set up, real nice. Lucky you. Some of us had a tough time out there." Zoe says, mockingly. The lucky bastard had a nice set up while she had to kill her own friends and anyone else she came across. A hint of jealousy sparked inside of her, her instinct was to kill him. Take his stuff and raid his nice shelter, that was the first thing that came to her mind but she shook the thought away, mentally scolding herself for what a monster she'd become.
"At least you haven't seen many people, and I'm surprised you willingly let them into your camp. I would've shot them and taken their shit. If they're dead, they can't kill me as easily."

"I helped fixed it up back before this hell happened for an old man. he gave me the key to it in case I ever had need for it." Sam continues to walk, ignoring the mocking tone. He understands why and doesn't blame her.
"I do not let down my guard when people come in for rest and such. I'm always on my guard and ready to kill in self defense at a moments notice. Call me weak or whatever, I just can't kill when there's no reason to, and I do believe that there's still good in a lot of people."
Zoe inclines her head slightly, taking in his words and chuckling to herself. Soon, her attention is caught by the sound of oncoming shuffling. She rushes forwards, drawing out her knife once again and spinning it expertly between her thin fingers. With a quiet war cry, she plunges the blade into the walker's head, letting the blood splash on her face and trickle between her hands.
She turns back to face Kayden, a satisfied smirk on her lips as she wipes her hands on her tight jeans. She then straightens back up, an frustrated hiss releases from her teeth as she places her hand on her wound and pulls it back crimson.
"It's not a bite. Some man tried to kill me, I was quick enough to bust a bullet in him before he could inflict further damage." Zoe walks back behind him. "My dad had a cabin, he taught me everything I know. We let people stay and it all went to shit. That's why I'm wary of people. I prefer the company of the undead."

Kayden watches as she kills a zombie before listening to what she said and nodded. He understands the possibility of that happening- he expects it to happen one of these days. He turns his head to the front and keeps walking, not slowing down. "Yeah, I completely understand that. I don't blame you. I'm actually waiting for that to happen myself."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
