Drew stared at her a moment. He pushed his glasses up on his nose and hugged his clipboard with his charts tighter to his chest and shook his head. He didn't smoke. Not that he was against it on principal or something holier than now like that. He just couldn't take a puff of one without sending himself flying into a coughing fit. Every single time.
Drew: No, thanks.
He saw the guilt in her eyes, saw that it bothered her too that they did this to prisoners. He thought about telling her that he was thinking about letting a few go, say they escaped. His small contribution to what was left of humanity, but he didn't. He wanted to let Cameron and Jordan go, the two who begged for mercy earlier, but he knew he couldn't. Especially without help, yet he didn't trust anyone here enough to ask for it. Instead Drew looked at his clipboard and turned to a few fresh pages. He wrote down the name Taylor. He knew that much. The whole base was a buzz with Taylor's return. For some reason Nelson seemed to think she was very important. And this wasn't the same battle strategy tried and true either. It wasn't like Nelson had some master plan that everyone here had seen him execute a thousand times. Truthfully, no one really knew why Taylor was so important to Nelson, but she was and that kept her safe. That's why Drew had her put in the holding cell farthest away from the others. The next cage over had Terry in it and he was quiet, didn't make much of a fuss which was good. Ace was in the cage beside Terry. For the moment they were in the isolation cages. Each in their own cage so they could be examined one at a time for bites, fatal lacerations, gunshots, knife wounds, etc. Drew pulled on some latex gloves and sat his clipboard down.
He knew that Kennedy was still in the room and Marty was back now. There was always a guard or two present when prisoners were brought in or out. Drew nervously opened the door to Taylor's cell. She was just starting to come to. Drew stepped inside her cell. She didn't seem to have much fight in her. Drew was underestimating her but he didn't mean her any harm. Drew was wearing a white lab coat over a sky blue button up shirt. Terry's eyes went wide as Drew stepped into the cage with Taylor and finally Terry started to make some noise. Muffled sounds of him saying stay away from her, muffled by duct tape.
Drew knew Kennedy was still here, and that she was the one that brought them in.
Drew: I need to ask you a few questions about these new ones. How was their behavior on the ride over? Be as detailed as you can. * Drew asked as he took a pen light and forced Taylor's eye open and shinned the light in. He was testing her reactiveness to light.* Were they.... aggressive? I know it's not easy to tell now days, mostly everyone is. What did they do? What did they say? How did they.... Well act?
They had limited machines here they could only run so many tests on the subjects before they tested the formulas. Drew wanted some idea of their testosterone levels, their adrenaline levels, how much dopamine was flooding into their scared brains. Their reactions to being kidnapped was valuable information to at least piecing together a loose picture of what those levels looked like.
Drew started taking Taylor's pulse, he had his clipboard on the floor beside him. He didn't noticed that when the turned back to look at Kennedy; Terry reached through the bar without anyone noticing and grabbed his pen. Terry slide the pen into the waistband of his pants.
Drew: Anything you can tell me will help and you studied behavior right? You probably noticed quite a bit.
