Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Born and raised in Japan, Kurara’s semi-wealthy family were descendants of an American soldier and a Japanese woman, hence her last and middle name. She showed aptitude in engineering, but also longed to see the country where her great grandfather came from, and eventually was able to take up a foreign exchange student program in the United States in New York. She purchased a compact handgun of her own accord for self defense after hearing about some of the dangers of the city, and made a few friends. as she lived her new life.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- She was at her friend, Kelly’s, high rise apartment at the time, joking around and generally having a good time when they looked out the window only to see a large horde of disfigured walkers running amok. Luckily, there was no way for them to scale the walls of their building, so safety wasn’t an issue, and Kurara simply listened to the radio for a while, trying to communicate with the outside world.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- Fortunately for them, Kelly and her family were the only other people present at the apartment complex at the time and they had access to their nearby neighbors’ resources after they broke their doors down. . This let them stay perfectly alive, well fed, and generally happy. Kurara tried her best to communicate with fellow survivors from her radio set up, but found few who wanted conversation. They survived for a long time, looting the rooms of the people below and above them, fortunate to have fire escape stairs which allowed access between floors. During this time of hiding out, Kurara perfected communication, although typically avoided transmitting anything, as she knew that it would be easy to track the signal and find them in their hiding spot. This continued for years, in part due to the fact that one of the apartment owners had recently been stocking up for a canned food drive, until one of the rooms had someone who had commit suicide and reanimated, who bit Kelly’s father. The next day, he died and also reanimated, and bit Kelly’s mother. The two remaining went down the stairs into the tattered remains of the world. Kurara couldn’t keep up with Kelly, and soon they were separated. Since then, she’d been looking for a refuge, and without one it’s safe to say she’ll perish within less than a month., especially in a place like New York.
