Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- A friendless person for very long due to her lifelong obsession with medieval history, Johanna was ostracized by her immediate family for not living up to their expectations. She saved up her money for swords and medieval weaponry, and for that reason was even sent to therapy in protest. Yet she was adamant; she eventually was able to get her own home in a small outlying farm, where she raised a foal and continued to slip through college and intriguing internships. Yet her first real paying job, which allowed her to fund her hobby, was that as a librarian. Her love of books may have driven her to madness, as she spent a lot of her time reading eventually, she joined a re-enactment group in her hometown, although she was banned for using real weapons and destroying some of their property.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- What was a nightmare for some was almost a dream come true for Johanna; the screams of her fellow humans in the town drew her to equip her gear and take out her horse, riding to war. Upon finding the nature of the attackers; unstoppable undead monsters; she learned to decapitate them, or crush their skulls with her cudgel. Yet their numbers were too great, and she eventually had to abandon her home town, grab what she could, and leave in a hurry, camping out a few miles away.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- It is an odd thing to see; an armored woman on horseback, slaughtering the undead. She had taken up the role of a self-proclaimed hero, and has done her best to earn this title by forcing every morally questionable individual into submission to see if there was chance for redemption or if they would have to be put down. She believes that she is on a grueling Crusade, and that she is the lone member of the holy quest. Her mercy has almost been the death of her; two people she spared tracked her down. While one was quickly decapitated, the other wounded her severely with a gun, although leaving preemptively, believing Johanna dead. When she recovered a few days later, she went into the perpetrator’s campsite and executed her as well. These incidents have done nothing to deter her from continuing to spare many she defeats. However, second chances are almost unheard of for her, as if they do not learn the first time her sword is parallel to their neck, then no further change can come of that person. Her witticisms and extreme foolhardy bravery are what anger her enemies and even friendly acquaintances. She’s been called a lunatic countless times, but prefers to call herself an enlightened individual and will correct people if they insult her. Her goal has always been to keep order, save lives, and punish the wicked. This is precisely how her life has gone for those years, and she’s been from state to state in the south dutifully accomplishing this task, leaving far less blood behind her than she could.
