Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Talia lived perhaps the most boring life imaginable; she was fairly talentless, spending all her time devoted between social relations, television, and schoolwork. She left her family in Maryland to begin a distant life in a New York college setting and was enrolled in her second year when Outbreak day happened. Her old personality involved a carefree and optimistic attitude, even when times were tough. Which they really weren’t tough at all, since she had a semi-wealthy family.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-It was midway into her daily routine that things proved quite adverse for Talia’s fortunes, when what she thought were silly screams from her fellow students quickly devolved into a nightmare. Being a typical student, unprepared for this magnitude of insanity, she suffered a panic attack and passed out. She woke up a while later, a few faint moans and groans coming from outside her room. She booked it,scrambling out the room and jumping in her old car and driving the hell out of there. She was lucky that the majority of the horde nearby was after a smaller group stuck in the library, which allowed her to escape in this way. After driving for less than a mile, Talia crashed into another group of zombies, yet kept going. She ran out of fuel in the nearby woods and ran into the forest, still terrified at what was going on.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
After two days, she was crippled with severe starvation and dehydration and assumed she was going to die, and she found herself reading an old textbook under a tree, tearing up. She quaked when she heard footsteps approach; yet instead of the disfigured walkers, she was greeted by a trio of all sorts of interesting people. The leader figure stepped forward, introducing himself as Johan, a U.S. marine, and his compatriots, Helen and Gerald. They were roaming around as a nomadic group called the Furies, and Talia had somehow appeared like a person who would join them. In her state, she would have accepted any offer they’d thrown at her, so she dutifully went along with this life changing decision that would drastically change her personality and identity, hardening her to the new world. She practiced with weapons, but lacked skill with most ranged weaponry right off the bat. However, Johan was adamant. He quickly taught her skill with the blade, and she was taking walkers down in no time. One day, they were attacked by humans; one of the large early groups that collapsed quickly after the Apocalypse day, but were still common in the first month or so. They savagely beat Gerald and kidnapped Helen. It was here that Talia proved herself and earned her nickname; ‘Vulture’. She met with two strangers who had also been assaulted by the gang and led a large rescue mission. Talia scouted out their encampment, spotting for Johan’s incredible marksmanship before finding a suitable attack route and liberating them. She took no lives herself; killing was still wrong for her. In return for her help, one of the strangers patched Gerald up and the infamy of the Furies was cemented forever. Thus became the pattern that would last her a very long time; She would scout out other survivors, and her allies would steal from them. They did take on a very bandit-like approach, but it got them through. However, one day, Vulture, as she preferred to be called, came back after a successful scouting run to find the building they’d taken temporary refuge in damaged and swarmed by walkers. She crept around, finding Johan’s rifle and a note nearby stating that they were going to have to pull out and would hope to meet her soon. She assumed him and the others dead, taking what she could(including the rifle) and leaving. This time, there were no tears, only a heaving sigh as she realized she would have to go solo at this point. She became the lowliest kind of bandit, waiting until dark and pillaging from the living or abandoned homes, supplying herself day-to-day. She went hungry often, she had trouble finding safe places to sleep countless times, she probably doomed several others to starvation, but she did, in the end, survive. She has no qualms with murder anymore.
