Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-The son of a prominent Salt Lake Valley doctor, Joe pretty early on decided to follow in his father's footsteps, going to college and then going on to medical school. After doing his internship and residency in internal medicine at one of SLC's top hospitals, he decided to move east, across the Wasatch Range, to Summit County, setting up shop as a general practitioner M.D. in the small town of Coalville, Utah
, along the banks of the Weber Reservoir.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-
On the day of the Outbreak, Dr. MacMillan had begun his yearly vacation when he was called back into town to check on some patients of his at the local hospital. While trying to get down there, he found the roads impassable...as he tried to make his way down on foot, he was attacked by a walker; after surviving this close brush with death, Joe decided to turn around and head back to his cabin home and try to wait out whatever was going on, making short, quick trips into what was left of Coalville to pick up clothes and supplies from his now-deserted medical office.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-For several weeks, Joe lived off the supplies in his cabin - besides being a competent doctor, he was also a fairly good hunter - and kept an eye on the area, hoping that it had all been some weird nightmare and things would go back to the way they were. Eventually, it dawned on him that he had two choices: he could either stay and try to re-build some semblance or civilization where he could...or he could leave and take his chances elsewhere, whatever those chances were. After a lot of thought...and a little bit of prayer, he packed up everything he could, filled up the Silverado w/as much diesel as it could hold and as much as he could take w/him and left Coalville, ready for whatever was out there.....
