Lawrence woke up the next morning early. Grabbing his bow, putting his quiver with all the arrows onto his belt his one bag with grocery bags, his knife and a bottle of water. He set out leaving his brother past out on a chair next to Jason who was injured the night before. Everyone was taking shifts with watching over Jason. The first one was Tegan, which came to a shock since he lit up a blunt as she walked in. Lawrence had that, 'Oh shit' moments but found out she was fine with it unless it hindered his ability to perform. Walking out into the hallway, no one was up. She he began to walk out and stepped outside finally and took in a deep breath of the fresh morning air that had the scent of rain. Walking with the bow in his hand and an arrow at the ready, he crossed the bridge after it was cleaned up last night by Hannah and a few other scouts. He made his way through the city. Since the wildlife was starting to take back the cities, there was always a chance to find a deer or a bear roaming freely. Passing cars that have been empty for years and rigs that have been already searched. A song came to his head and his head began to bob up and down to the beat of it. Tupac, we miss you. Is what Lawrence thought to himself.
After walking for an hour, he heard the sound of hooves moving on asphalt. Peeking into an alley, he saw what he was looking for. A big buck was eating off some grass that had popped up and was growing through a crack of a building foundation. Knocking the arrow carefully, he pulled the string back and took aim. Exhaling slowly, he let go with a plunk. The hawk feather arrow flew straight into the side of the deer getting it in the heart. It bucked a little and ran off. 'Shit!' He ran after it for a few blocks until Lawrence saw it again. Jogging up to it, he had to quickly make it fast to gut it before any walkers come for a quick feast. Opening his bag and taking out the grocery bags. Unsheathing his knife, he began to process of cutting it open carefully, pulling out the entrails, the stomach and tossed them tot he side. Reaching up into the rib cage, he began to pull out the liver, lungs, heart and kidneys and placed them in different bags. Tying them up, he placed them back into his bag and zipped that up. Wiping the blade on the fur, he hooked his around the deer's neck and had his bow around him. Squatting down, he heaved the heavy buck onto his shoulders. Lawrence began his journey back when he felt eyes watching him. His arrow was still sticking out the side of it and the feathers stuck up into the air.
