Just a while ago, Tegan had given them the green light to go to the Great lakes and do what it was that Hannah and Dana had planned. Driving the rig towards the Great Lakes, Hannah was super excited that they actually got to go. Looking up at the north, the storm clouds were still a good bit away from them. So they had some time. Dana was riding Shotgun like last time. Smiling, Hannah finally spoke up about earlier in the day.
Hannah: So love, was it my ears deceiving me or did I hear you make a sigh when I slid my hands back down to over your injured foot earlier when I was rubbing it for you.
Her jade colored eyes looked at her for a moment as they had an hour drive to make because of all the vehicles she wanted to avoid and she didn't feel like attracting walkers to them by making even louder sounds such as her plowing through cars and pick up trucks. She was keeping the truck in low gear so it was easier for her to avoid the scattered wrecks. Reaching her hand over, she gently took Dana's hand and brought it up to her mouth and kissed it. Then just held it as they moved along. Hannah: Great lakes, here we come. And we are going to enjoy it as long as we can. Every 12 hours we have to check in....sounds like we are going to be having some fun when this storm hits us. Maybe we can find a hotel or a motel if it gets really bad. I heard before that some storms here can make a rig slide. Maybe I can then finish where I left off when you left me earlier to sit in the back of the Tundra?
It wasn' perfect. There was shit she just couldn't get out of her head. Like Miller, did he really really call Boss a bitch right to her face? Dana wanted to hold his head underwater until his arms stopped thrashing. Then there was the little problem of her missing letter... All the shit stacked up on her head and she just wanted to scream at the top of her lungs, but she sat there quietely listening to Hannah talk about how much fun they were going to have. Hannah had been planning this trip even before she knew Dana so it was understandable that she was excited, Dana was excited too.... She just wished she didn't have a bunch of burdens on her busy mind.... She smiled a bit trying not to let recent events spoil the trip. She honestly was looking forward to it. That night they talked about coming down here on the airwaves... It was really happening. You never get to "Make Plans" anymore. It was honestly amazing that this was actually going to happen. Dana thought about sitting down by the water and how romantic it would be. She started to get a littel be it nervous. It wasn't that she wasn't crazy about Hannah she was, she was abso-fuckin-lutely crazy abou the girl, but still... The exepectations, the romance, the sheer magnatitude of what Hannah was letting go of for her... She was going to let go of the love of her life fully at the lakes, say goodbye to that part of her life and close the book on it.... Dana had nothing to let go of. She had already lost her letter. And as she sat there feeling her hand against the warmth of Hannah's cheek... She honestly thought she'd be ok with it. Gently placing the letter on the water's surface and watching it float away.. Never to be read. It would be in a way like she would be finally able to say goodbye to Sophie. By setting the letter adrift she'd be able to let go herself. Let go of the terrible pain in her heart that kept her up most nights. But she'd also be letting go of what kept her strong, what kept her from the brink. She would in essence, be the last Dillenger.....She sat there now lost in thought, quietly wishing she could send her sister off and leave her peacefully floating on the beautiful lakes. Dana leaned her head over and rest it on Hannah's shoulder.... She pulled her feet up into the seat and tucked them away beside her....She had long kicked her boots and socks off and she sat barefoot still in her short shorts... She slid her arm under Hannah's and wrapped her arm around hers..... She held her arm tightly allowing her face, which was lying on her shoulder, to nessle in and get comfortable...
Hannah: So love was it my ears decieving me or did i hear you make a sigh when i slid my hands down over your injured foot when i was rubbing it for you?
Dana smiled a bit still lying on her shoulder....
Dana; You did indeed.
Dana said softly and in a peaceful melodic tone. This was to be the first real alone time they had spent togehter since they became a thing. Dana couldn't help, but wonder if Hannah would still like her when it wasn't around everyone else to balance out her shyness... She was ok in a group setting, but she found herself alone again with this beautiful woman who not only stole her heart, but treasured it. She really loved Dana, and Dana had never felt this strong of a pull towards another woman before, not even with Chelsea. It was just a NEED to be with this woman.... Ever since that conversation over the airwaves..... The conversation that honestly changed her entire stance on life, love, and the weight of being alone in the world; Dana couldn't think of anyone else, but Hannah. She was in love. Dana had felt alone, she had friends and a group she cared about, but she didn't have that intamate closeness... She didn't have that one person to brush away her tears, consol her insecurities, weather the storm of her heartbreaks, and lift her up when she was low.... She didn't have that until now she thought, as she tighten her hug around Hannah's arm just a little bit.... But still..... I'm hella fucking nervous, she thought.... Hannah said something about a motel or a hotel, and Dana leaned up and looked at her. Dana's cool blue green eyes studying her, trying to see if she was honestly serious. She seemed to be... Dana bit her lip. The shyness was back in full force. What am i going to do. She thought, wondering how she was going to conquere her shy nature that sometimes posessed her when she was alone with a beauitful woman..... She just so happened to love this one.

While driving, she felt Dana wrap around her arm like a boa constrictor of love. Leaning the side of her head against Dana's, she heard the answer to her first question about the sigh. A smile came across her face now knowing what she was going to do to her later on. That's if, she wanted to do something about it. When Dana turned her face to look up at her, Hannah kept smiling as she shifted gears. Nervousness was starting to riddle throughout Hannah's body since she was alone with the person she was fully and madly in love with. She was afraid that Dana wouldn't like what she saw under her shirt. A frown crept the one side of her face. The great lakes were coming up soon. Turning left onto a smaller road, they could see the Lakes coming up. At the end of the road on their side was a small motel building.
"It's up to you love if you want us to rest in here or inside the motel. If you want to do the Motel, then I'll park the rig close to the room we will be staying on the second floor so if shit hits the fan, we can always jump onto the roof of the truck, then swing in through the open window's of the doors. Easy, then again...I've done it for quiet a bit over the years. It doesn't matter to me as long as I get to sleep with you in my arms my love. We now have each other...no more needing to hide out feelings...no more secrets hun....I want us to be together for as long as we both breath. I love you Dana. Nothing will get in between us, I promise you. I will always be with you."
Driving across the road and into a parking space, the lakes were right in front of them now. Just them, the beach and the lake. Turning off the rig, Hannah stood up and went into the back where she took off her beater to show more of her tattoo on her back. She still had a bra on. Stripping her weapons and laying them on the bed, she kicked off her boots and slid her pants off and replaced them with a pair of shorts that stopped at her knees. Lash marks were across her back and she turned around as there was more scars across the front of her. "Ready to step out and have a walk on the beach with me?" Picks up the axes and slides them into her pocket as her Daggers sheath is still on her right wrist.
Dana felt the rig pull over to a stop and to her surprise Hannah started changing right in full view of her... She started blushing a bit and tried her best to resist a peek, but she was weak of will and allowed herself a look. She turned her head back just in time to see her sliding up a pair of shorts... As she leaned over to reach for her weapons her shirt came up a bit in the back and Dana could see lashes and scars on her beautiful Hannah. A small frown came across her face... Who would do that to her?!? Dana was suddenly angry that such a thing could be allowed to happen to someone as sweet as her Hannah, but when Hannah turned to face her the anger faded replaced by a eagerness to walk with her down by the water. Dana didn't reply she only nodded and waited for Hannah to get out and help her down... She still had trouble getting up and down out of the rig. This motherfucker was a workout just to get into the dam thing!
Dana; You know, there's something calming to about thunderstorms.... It's like..... Mother nature tryingto course correct or some shit.. If it rains lets not go back until it gets bad.... I like being out in the rain. Reminds me there still something beautiful about the world.... The rain brings life......That's something, in a world dominated by death ..... Right?
Dana took her hand and started walking towards the water... There was the tinyest hint of her limp still there, but that massage earlier really helped. Honestly since Julie popped it back in it felt like it was getting stronger. She just had to remember not to push herself to far to fast.. Dana walked down through the parking lot with her lover in toe. Dana told her she would sit with her right down by the lakes and watch the water... Thankfully there were no walkers in play here. Thankfully, and mercifully the lakes were just that lakes and nothing else. There was no danger present, and that was a blessing in itself. Dana plopped down in front of the water pulling Hannah down with her... Hannah landed on top of her and Dana started laughing because she didn't mean to pull her so hard, but she didn't mind having Hannah on top of her one bit.... Sticking out of her outter jacket pocket was a dirty old envelope... It was her sister's letter. Before they had crossed the river, Pocketz had slipped it back into her jacket figuring it wasn't his place to tell Dana how to "handle her business" so he slipped it back. His light fingers so talented she didn't even notice a thing. She still didn't know it was there, but it was sticking out of her jacket now as she laughed..... Hannah knew it was the letter she was looking for when she was tearing up the rig earlier.... She had told her right before they left for Michagan....Dana didn't have a care in the world at the moment... All of her shyness washed away in an innocent moment of loving embrace down by the beautiful water...
Dana: Sorry! *Dana said laughing her ass off* I didn't think you'd topple over! i figured a cat burgerlar would have better balance than that! But i gotta say..... *Laughing less now and looking into Hannah's eyes* I can't be mad at the result.

When Hannah had stepped down on to the next step, she helped Dana down and went walking with her hand in hand. It felt divine outside. Fresh air, the smell of the water and the scent of both the up coming thunderstorm and the smell of Dana. This was turning out to be a great day so far. Nothing to really worry about til they went back to the group. They were going to make this trip last as long as they could. Looking over towards her, she couldn't help but smile at her. "I love thunderstorms. The gift of life, or a destroyer to some that look at it that way from the force he can cause. It is beautiful, but not as beautiful as you hun. In it, I feel free being in my birth element. Water. Helps loosen the joints and makes the body relaaaa!" She was cut off when Dana decided to plop onto the sand and pulled Hannah down with her making her off balance since she wasn't paying to much attention to it for her being in thought. Landing on top of her. She began to laugh as well. It was funny to think about, a tall woman who's a good thief losing her balance.
Hannah: Well yeah when your lost in thought and your lover just pulls you down to the ground, it would throw even stump off hahahaha....I'm glad to see you smiling and laughing as you are. Now let's check that foot of your's out and finish what I've started. We can watch the storm roll in from here if you would like.
Hannah kissed her lovingly and then slid down to Dana's feet. Since she still didn't have her boots and socks on, it was easier for Hannah to begin her work with the rubbing using her thumbs and fingers. Every now and then she would slide her hand up to her calf and gently slide her finger tips back down to the bottom of her feet where she would get back to work on it. After the under foot was done, she would begin to gently rub the hurt ankle. Gently twisting it until it popped again to relieve some of the pressure that was building back up in the joint. "That sounded like a good one love. How does it feel now...and to be teased by me?" Hannah set her feet back on the sand and climbed back over the Dana and had her hips now straddling Dana's waist. Leaning down again, she kissed her again as the rain started to fall down on to them as she kissed her passionately. The area flashed brightly as the thunder followed behind. Breaking the kiss, Her eyes like precious stones looked down at her.
Dana looked at her with her lying on top of her staring in her eyes... This can't happen. Not yet. She can't be happy and joyously share these moments with her until she does what she came here to do... She had to send off what she came here to send off. She had to officially say goodbye to Susan. It was for Hannah, yes; but it was also a little bit for Dana. She wanted to know that Hananah was really even ready to be with someone again. This was a deeply meaningful and personal quest she had brought her along with. And Dana wanted to see how it went. Wanted to see just what happened at the water's ede wehn she finallty let go of the jewerly. dana looked around and saw a tree down by the water.... Seizing her hand once more Dana stood up.
Dana: You came to say goodbye. I think before we do anything further. You should. i don't want to dishonor what you may have shared with Susan and i feel like even though she's gone, to not say goodbye to her and close the book on that part of your life first, would be to cheat on her memory.... Say goodbye to the girl that ment so much to you.... Take all the time you need. *Dana wrapped her arm around her. She really wanted to be with Hannah right now, but she didn't want to have her feelings of passion overshadow the beautiful reason Hannah was coming out here in the first place* i'm right here.... Go on.
As she stood there with her arm around Hannah she wondered how she would feel without the necklace. When Dana lost her letter it was like a piece of her was gone. she had lost her tailismen in the darkness... And now standing here in the sand by the water... All she wanted was to have that letter now she could send it crashing into the tide when the water rolled back from the sand. Place it in the water and watch it drift... Finally say goodbye. And close that book in her own life..... Dana was really ready to. She kissed Hannah on the cheek as she waited to see what Hannah would do down by the water.

Nodding her head as they both stood up. Walking over to the tree, Hannah never let go of her loves hand. With her other hand, she reached into Dana's pocket and pulled out the letter and placed in it in Dana's Hand. A bit of the smile faded as she undid her wrist sheath to show the two gold necklaces of two doves. Tears began to well up in her eyes as she looked down at them both as they were knotted into a small ball. Undoing the ball took a bit of work, but she finally got them free of each other. Placing one on her lips, she undid the clasp for one. Going over to the tree, she wrapped it around the tree and clasped it on. "May my happiness and good memories of Susan Over look the lakes and rest here for eternity" Her eyes looked down at the other one, the one that Susan wore. Clenching it now in her fist as the tears began to slide down her cheeks. Walking up to the waters edge, she looked up into the storm thinking of what this one could stand for. A bolt of lighting streaked across the sky.
With a lower voice, she began to say trying her best not to cry. "An may dis one be consumed by dah lake, forever keeping my anger and my sorrow of Susan. I'm sorry Susan....but I have to move on....I have to close our chapter to let a new one begin. " She looked back at Dana with a weak smile as her eyes were now becoming blood shot because of the tears. Pulling her fist back, she heaved it out over the lake making a small splash. Going to her knees, the tears and sadness just hit her and overcame her. With no control or even knowing of it, she began to punch the sand for a bit until she was about four inches deep from punching it. Her hand began to throb from the repeated punching. Looking at it, she saw blood started to drip off her knuckles. It was now Dana's turn to do what she wanted to do with the letter. Forcing herself to stand, she went over to Dana and held her close to her as she kissed the top of her lovers head. "I'll be here with you."
Dana was shocked when she looked down and saw the letter in her hand. Was it here the whole time? Where.... She didn't have time to ask anymore questions however as Hannah walked over and spoke softly hanging a necklace on the tree and placing the othe one into the water.... Dana watched quietly and started to cry... The words she spoke... They were just beautiful. She watched as Hannah then dropped to her knees and started punching the sand.... She seemed upset... Did she regret this? Was she not ready to let go? Did she not want to say goodbye to Susan? What am i doing here? i shouldn't be watching this.... This is tearing me up. Dana thought. She wanted to run over and comfort her, but she knew that i was something she HAD to do on her own. This wasn't about Dana for the moment, it was about her saying goodbye to the woman she shared her life with....Dana couldn't help but wonder how she stacked up against the woman who could cause so much raw emotion. Dana looked down at her letter. She just stared at it for a moment, as Hannah watched the necklace and so many treasure memories floating on the water.... But then she was up. Making her way over and standing next to her.... Dana looked down at the letter again.
Hannah: I'll be here with you.
Dana nodded, but said nothing. She walked up to the water's edge. Still barefoot. The cold water rushing up to greet her toes as the sound of the tides hitting the shore made her feel like she was trapt in a conk shell... It was all she could hear now. That and the thudding sound of her heart in her throat... She stepped a bit closer.. The coolnes of the water wetting her skin and the ice coldness of it actually felt good on her ankle. She stepped closer. The sand beneather her wet and mushy. Her legs were shakey and now the sand shifting beneather feet made it harder to take another step, but still she stepped closer. She swallowed hard, her throat was dry as sand paper and her eyes were filling up with silent tears as her trembling hand gripped everything that inspired her to live over the past 3 years.... She stepped closer... The water wasat her shins now... Cold, it was so cold, but she barely noticed. She felt the rushing wave another current crashing against the tide. She stepped closer. The coldness of the water touch her thighs, making them wet. The howling wind blowing her short black hair around as her blue green eyes only stared down at what had been her security blanket for the past 3 years. She steppeed closer... The water was wetting the bottom of her short shorts now... High up on her thigh almost wasite deep now as she kept wading out into the water...Dana looked up at the darkening sky. A streak of lightening flashed lighting up her face making it look pale in contrast to the surrounding darkness... She looked back to Hannah and smiled. Before returning her eyes to the leatter. A wave crashed into her threatening to take her off her wobbly feet, but she held her ground. The letter was wet now. The words could be seen through the paper, but not read. It would be so easy just to open in and see what had been her salvation over the last 3 years... Dana brought the letter to her lips and kissed it.
Dana: Goodbye Sophie. Thank you, for keeping me alive long enough to meet Hannah. I can never repay you for that. i only wish, that you are with mom and dad now. Looking out for me. *Dana looked up at the crack of roaring thunder* That was dad wasn't it? *Dana laughed a bit... She acutually LAUGHED* Bet he doesn't approve of my short shorts. Tell him i love him ok sis? I love you all so much, but i have a lot of living left to do..... I'll see you all again some day. So Goodbye.
Dana placed the letter on the water in front of her, as she floated waiste deep in the water... The letter drifted out a bit., Another wave, it disppeared below the surface. White foam and bubbles let her know that it was gone. The only thing to surface was bits of white soggy paper and the realization, that she didn't need to hang on to the letter anymore to keep her wanting to live in this life... She brought her hands to her chest and cried... Lowering her head as another wave crashed against her chest she cried, because she had Hannah and that was all she needed to keep her fighting to see tomorrow, the chance to wake up and see Hannah's face one more time.

Hannah walked with her up til the water hit her own ankles. What Dana was going to do was something she had to do by herself. Wrapping her arms around her waist, she looked worried at Dana as she walked towards the storm until the water was now up to her lovers waist. Seeing her bring up the letter to her mouth and kissing it made a weight on Hannah's heart lift up a bit. She barely heard her until she started to laugh. As Dana looked back at her, Hannah smiled as tears slid down her face and the blood from her hand ran down her side to her shorts and into the water. The letter floated a bit until the lake took it below the surface. Hearing her lover crying with her head looking down, Hannah went to her. As she reached Dana from behind, a wave crashed into Dana and Hannah wrapped her arms around Dana, holding her close to her. Placing her face onto the raven black hair and smelling it again, she would kiss the top of Dana's head. Turning her around to face her, Hannah looked into Dana's bloodshot forming blue green eyes. Placing a hand on the side of her face and gently stroking her thumb across her cheek. Hannah leaned down and kissed her for a few moments. When she broke the kiss, she brought her close to Hannah again holding her tight. Reaching down, she brought her one arm under Dana's legs and lifted her up. Carrying her out of the water, Hannah felt the rain start coming down harder and the lightening lit up the sky even more now. Looking up into the heavens, she closed her eyes feeling the rain just pouring down onto them both. Looking down now, she finally broke the silence and whispered to her true love, her Flawless Diamond.
Hannah: I'm proud of you love....now lets get into somewhere that's dry. Would it be wrong to say that we are both dripping wet at this point? -Then she began to laugh at her joke.- Somewhat running with Dana still in her arms, she wasn't going to risk Dana hurting her ankle again to get out of this bad storm.-
Going up the stairs to the second floor and under the roof finally, she set her lover down onto the top step. Looking around, she saw doors shut. Pulling both her ax's out, she handed one to Dana and went from room to room, checking them out to see if anyone or anything was there waiting for them. The Heavens must have been on their side since there wasn't a person or a walker around. The room they went into was room 22 with a view of the lakes and the Big Rig. Setting her Ax onto a dresser, she saw that there was towels. Smiling again, she grabbed one and handed it to Dana. Grabbing a towel for herself, she wrapped it around her head and began to dry her hair off for a bit. After a few seconds, she tossed the towel to the floor. Her hair was a dirty blonde damp mess. The room had a California King size bed. It was huge compared to her Queen bed in the Sleeper. Taking her shirt and shorts off, she took them and slung them over the shower curtain rod. The clothes dripping into the bath tub, she walked out into the room again only in her Under armor boxer briefs and her bra. Pointing at the phone and smiling, she asked in a joking manner.
Hannah: Think it's a little late to call for some room service?
Dana sat down on the bed while Hannah went to dry her hair. Dana sat there soaking wet. Her leather jacket was drenched. She let it slip from her shoulders as she sat there back on her hands. She tossed it aside on the chair. She shivered a bit she was cold and her wet shirt clung to her wet body. She pulled it off and threw it by the jacket. Her bra was nothing special, nothing fancy or anything, just a black padded bra. She started locking around.. There was a suitcase beside the bed, she pulled it on the bed, looking up to notice Hannah was still busy with.... Whatever she was doing... Unzipping the suitcase she found some dry clothes, she pulled out a shirt and held it up... As it unfolded she waged it must've been a 4x it was big as fuck! She sighed a little and threw it on anyways... She was drowning in the dam thing... But at least she wasn't cold. She qucikly and effortlessly slipped her short shorts off and now just had on the shirt that looked more like a nightgown.... The shirt said on the front.
"Let's screw!"
And it had a cartoon picture of a fat construction worker guy holding a screwdriver.... Looking down at herself wearing this gargantun shirt she couldn't help but bust out laughing at how ridculous she must look right now... She was so short, the dam thing was nearly touching her ankles.. She laughed despite the emotions of the last few moments, she laughed and it felt good... Laying across the bed she looked what else was in the suitcase... Some shampoo, conditioner, a yo-yo... Dana was totally keeping that. She found a few books about how to be a winner, and how to self improve, even a book entitled "what to do when you're flatulant in public" Woa what a keeper this guy was. Dana mused and started laughing a little more. She stopped laughing when she saw Hannah come out in boxers and a bra.... Her body was a roadmap of sadness and scars.... Dana smiled at her. She was still beautiful despite them, she was beautiful no matter wat...
Dana: Hey Hannah! How do you like my new shirt?
She said standing up to display her stupid shirt that looked like a giant snuggie. She smiled at her glad for a lighthearted moment against all the sadness they had both endured.
Post by Hannah Madison Emritz on Aug 14, 2016 0:39:29 GMT -5
Seeing the massive shirt and then seeing her standing up to show how big it was on her made Hannah laugh so hard, she had a hard time breathing. But once she had gotten herself under control, she went over to the standing Dana and wrapped her arms around her butt since she was standing on the bed and the height difference, yeeeaaah. Looking up at her, she would kiss Dana's body and say to her. "It looks lovely on you. Hell, everything makes you look Beautiful." Kissing her stomach she lifted up and dropped her onto her back so Dana was now laying down. Sliding onto the bed, she placed the hurt ankle back onto her lap. Much like before, she got back to working on Dana's bad ankle. Gently rubbing the sides of her ankle with both her hands, Hannah leans down and kisses it at the joint. And without warning, her tongue slid from the ankle up to her knee and stopped. Kissing that spot, she crawled up to her head and looked down at her smiling brightly.
Hannah: You are the best thing to have happened to me Dana....and I thank you for saving my life. You have no idea how close I was to just say Fuck the world and it's cruel jokes. And here we are. Two lover's laying on a Rather big ass bed in Michigan, right along the Great Lakes. It's been a rather good day so far.
Leaning down to her, she let her warm breath his Dana's neck as she kissed the spot, then went to her cheek and kissed that. Sliding her lips all the way to Dana's, she gently pressed them together and locked their mouths together in a Lover's embrace. Her one arm was holding her up as the other arm was now under her and holding them both together. Her left leg slid over Dana's right leg and then under it, hooking them together. Tongues sliding over each other like two lost soul mates finding each other again. Breaking the kiss, she whispered to her. "You make my heart pound and skip a beat. You make my soul burn and yurning for you. My heart sinks to see you limp so much love. I wish I can do something to be able to make it feel better." The Jade eyes was looking deep in the blue green eyes, searching for the words to express herself. "You are my Flawless Diamond, and I don't want to lose my Soul mate for whatever reason....if I lose you...I will lose myself. I don't want to live without you hunny."
A tear begins to slide down her face. Laying down fully, she took her free hand and wiped it away. Laughing a bit, she said then. "I probably sound cheesy, corny, and now tearing up...a hot mess I am right now."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
