Nate slowed the truck. He rested his head on the wheel, one hand gripping tight. It had been a long two months since the fort in Canada. It was all still so vivid. The fire starting in the hotel, people turning. They place fell, the fire attracting the desd for miles. The swarmed the burning gates, kept coming.
the guards could only do so much, and then they fell. Mia, Nate couldn't say what happened to her. He didn't know if she died, if she lived. Zombies swarmed the house they were at, she was closed in on fast, probably to weak to fight.
Jake had gone to get their weapons, with the guard. He a aged to grab his axe, his sword, and a rifle. Together they fought their way out. Just him and Jake, alone. They ran into the woods, Nate didn't dare look back, they had to keep going.
Now two months they had been on the road, heading back south into the states. It was hot out, summer. Nate had no clue where they were, where to go. He just kept running, and running. Each day it was a little more. A little harder to get fuel.
From car to car they hopped. All they could do. Find supplies and survive.
Nate turned to Jake. "Think there's a town uo ahead, that's what the map says. We could always swing back to the farm house we saw. What's the battle plan?" Nate didn't expect him to have an answer. At this point, they didn't have one.
"How are we doi on water and fuel? We should see what kind of cars we can find, Syphine some gas or take them." He rubbed his face, looking down at his stump of an arm. "We should set a goal. Where are you from Jake? Before all this, maybe we can go there."
