Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Robert grew up living life with his older sister, Clancy. As the younger brother, Robert was always the troublemaker while Clancy was the dutiful one and peacemaker. The two siblings were polar opposites in personality, with Robert being the rebellious one while Clancy followed her parents' rules, and it would further escalate to such things as their futures. While Clancy's life followed her going to school and then joining the US Navy as a co-pilot for a jet, Robert's life grew more colorful with a rainbow of violence and darkness. He got into a way with bad people even in school years, resorting to petty tricks in order to get money and precious valuable from other people.
Eventually, when he would hit high school and he would get involved with a gang of like-minded thieves and crooks, and it was through them he would grow on to learn how to shoot a gun and to kill people; something he got sick over at first, but it got easier the more he did it...then again, he didn't kill people for the fun of it. It was also through them that he learned how to wash brains off of clothes and get blood out of wedding dresses, of all things, something he would deny explaining when asked. Being a minor under law, he could not be charged as an adult when he finally was caught, but he was still sent to jail for several years.
When he left jail, he came out a new man; he still had his cynical attitude and was still high-maintenance about his appearance, but he didn't pursue being a con artist any longer, but instead applied at college for a GED, which he successfully finished before entering an Art program, where he learned to do photography work and prep, as well as general art as well as getting married...a marriage that only lasted several months before divorce hit..
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
Robert, during one of his excursions out of Texas for photography and still-life art in New Mexico, things weren't as they seemed...he began to see people approach him whenever he got closer, and their stance was that of a disoriented or drunk person who couldn't walk coherently...but when he got closer looks of them, he saw they had what looked to be blood, flesh, and glazed-over eyes, signs of death...and they ate other people. Rather than panic, he merely retreated to his rental home in disbelief and shock, and killed the few that came to his home, not caring who saw him. He holed up in his home for the remainder of the time until the dead would stop coming. He didn't know what was going on, but he knew that whatever it was, it wasn't good..
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
Nowadays, 3 years into the zombie apocalypse, Robert confidently traverses the streets of the undead urban wilderness that is a city, a city in New Mexico, but his home he rented all those years back would serve as his makeshift base of operations, with him easily weaseling out of places that would normally hold food and water, while he spent his time drawing and painting specific scenarios in his head, thinking he would live such a life until he died, since he thought no one would ever want to see him.
Should his home be overrun, or if he was going on a personal trip, he would take a sketchbook with him as well as his camera, and of course his gun, and would just explore the unknown dead lands, more than capable of defending himself. He doesn't trust groups, always thinking he'll be out of their hair before they know it so he never divulges his full name, unless he happens to grow close and less cold towards them.
