Hua felt horrible. She was weak and hungry, some crazy guy had shoved her against a damn table, and now she was taken to stay in some room for the night. What had happened to her leaving? The scout who took her to her quarters left and Hua hesitantly sat down on the bed in her quarters for the night. She wasn’t sure what was going on...why Bam had lied to her about possibly leaving....and now she had to sit here in pain and starving...She could do that just as easily outside this place...and would rather.
At least she wasn’t crying now...but her ribs were still hurting quite a lot...it was almost as if she was starting to adjust to the level of pain she was feeling. She was sitting there in a confused daze when suddenly someone entered. Hua looked up, thinking and being mistaken for the second time that it might be Bam with some good news Surprisingly it was the girl from earlier, her young brave savior who stepped inside her door and simply said Hi....and that her name was Bailey.
Hua stared at the girl a moment and a small smile came to her face, the first smile of a very very long day. This girl had saved her from a very uncertain situation......the Bam fellow hadn’t believed her...while he had been so calm earlier. She was uneasy about the man.....but at least he hadn’t tried anything like the guard. This girl however she felt as if she could trust just because she had spoken the truth...then stabbed the guard with a scalpel. “...Heather...” She said softly, her accent making her syllables harsher than Bailey’s but it was understandable. She had been speaking english primarily for a few years now.....but before that Chinese had been her primary language.
“...Thank you. It was kind...what you did.”
Heather rubbed her wrist that was starting to bruise where she had struggled against the handcuffs, her other arm was wrapped firmly around her waist...as odd as it sounded the support actually made the pain a slight bit easier to handle. While she appreciated Bailey coming to her defense she was somewhat surprised by the anger in the young woman....how she had attacked the man as if it were a personal assault on her. She remembered the girls tears....her anguish....Heather wasn’t as badly affected. It had been scary...but it hadn’t happened....It had before, it was the nature of the business she was in. If you sold your body for sex there would always be someone who would take advantage of the situation. She had became almost hardened to the thought of it as sickening as it sounded. She would fight back in any way she could....but if it did happen she would zone out...as she had many times before. Maybe that was why she wasn’t a blubbering nervous wreck right now....this wasn’t new to her.
“But.....are you alright?”
