Several newcomers were in the bar tonight, looked like Rhett would have his hands full....Scab would be busy too..but hell Gabe had worked nearly constantly this last week. It wasn’t like there was a whole lot else to do, so slinging drinks had occupied the majority of his time. He hadn’t even received a key to the house he had won in a match with Barrett...but now he had it. He would have to give it a once over after he helped Amy get settled. Possibly even get the generator started if she wished. He looked over at her, frowning a bit at her beer soaked top. Well...on one hand he didn’t mind the view...on the other having your a beer soaked shirt sticking to your chest and some strange guy ogling you probably wasn’t the stuff of her dreams.
Gabe was wearing a button up navy shirt with a tank underneath he stopped long enough to shrug out of his shirt and handed it to her without speaking, if she didn’t want it then that was fine. But he would offer just in case. Gabe stretched his heavily tattooed arms in front of him until his joints cracked. Being cooped up in the bar kept him doing a lot of bending and lifting.... His prior lifestyle had been strenuous but in a different way. There was always some jackass who would want a giant tattoo....in one sitting. He sighed and looked back at Amy, tilting his head a bit to see the numbers on the key in her hand. He looked up, his eyes narrowing to try to see the numbers on the mailboxes in the near dark neighborhood. But eventually he found it....looked like she was almost directly across the street from Charly’s house...Which meant his nearby also.
The houses here were traditional, most had the white paneling and blue shutters one would expect of a quaint little neighborhood. Barrett’s was the roughest looking of the lot...but it was pretty fitting....guy was coked out of his head half the time. Gabe nodded towards Amy’s house. “There she is..” He said with a smile. “...Hold on just a second...” He moved to the back of the house to get the generator started. Rhett had put a lot of time into his little neighborhood.....each one with its own generator, getting the houses cleaned out and ready for occupants...It only took a couple tugs before the generator roared to life. He shut the small building it was enclosed in, reducing the sound to a soft purr. A couple lights in the house flicked on.
Gabe walked back to Amy, looking back at her house as he spoke. “And there was light......for a couple hours anyway....” He walked with her up onto the wooden porch with fancy white railing and waited for Amy to unlock her house....Until he figured out how he must look right then.....
“Oh shit...” He took a step back, his dark eyes shifting from the door to Amy’s face. “Sorry, I’m probably making you uncomfortable. I mean I’m not going to jump you inside your house...” His voice trailed off, he was actually blushing...Gabe didn’t get embarrassed.....but he was sticking his foot in his mouth big time. “I mean I wouldn’t jump you anywhere....well I mean your attractive so I would but not-” He broke off, shoving his tattooed fingers through his dark hair. Fuck me..
He cleared his throat, acting as if nothing he said before had happened he spoke. “So this is your house......”
