Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Jill grew up in Beverly Hills, barely a toddler when they moved from Silicon Valley to Los Angeles. Her and her brother were always close, had the same group of friends and loved their family dearly. She did well in school where in some categories her brother failed as he screwed around in school. She could see her brother's disinterest, as well as their mother, and so in order to keep his creative juices flowing, they would often times go out to the Santa Monica pier to play and have beach days. Their father worked long hours and so it was their mother's (and nanny's) job to keep them pre-occupied. Santa Monica was a world away from Beverly Hills, filled with sights, sounds and people that thrilled her and her brother. From the first day they became beach rats and as they grew up, learned to surf...and surf well. So well, that by the time he was 17 and she was 16, they had been recruited into the junior pro circuit before going full pro when they both reached 18. They moved to Santa Monica, where their father bought them a condo and told them to live life and regret nothing.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-She woke up from a nightmare and was already having a bad day. She knew there was something wrong, although she could not put her finger on it. Jack blew off her instincts and urged them both to go surfing that day as the waves were huge. She didn't like the feel of the water, it seemed too cold. The sand felt like glass under her feet and there was just something wrong. After maintaining this feeling for a week, the nightmare had come true. What was happening on t.v. was a living hell. She and Jack packed a bag and went back to Beverly Hills to stay with their parents and lock themselves in their mansion. She missed the beach and fresh air. They stayed at the house for a year until their parents died and a new nightmare came from having to kill them. She urged her brother to go back to Santa Monica where they could at least be back in their own home to live out these nightmares. Los Angeles had fallen.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-Jill stays with her brother Jack and along the way, she got a gun. She had no idea how to shoot, clean or load it, but one of their neighbors downstairs taught her everything she needed to know. Her brother became the provider, fishing and purifying their water while she scavenged along the pier. It was a nice system they set up and was working...so far...
The condos they live in consist of 6 units beach side. There are people who also live in all the units, some having been there since the start, a few others having fought their way in and taken over the condo by choice to stay beachside. It wasn't ideal, but it wasn't that terrible considering how much carnage they saw away from the beach to get home. There are still plenty of stragglers that come looking for a human meal and now they are starting to get worried about raiders that seem to enjoy going up and down the pier looking for easy prey. She protects her brother fiercly, just as much, if not more so then her brother protects her. They are all they have now.
