Name: Amina Elise Holman

Avatar Photo(s):
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Amina stands at an even 5'5" with a slender build. She has dirty blonde hair that reaches just below her shoulders and hazel eyes that some days look green. She often wears boots and a black jacket, along with anything else useful that she can scavenge.
Occupation: High School senior, worked part-time at a local cafe
Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Relationships: Mother died shortly before her fourteenth birthday, leaving behind her husband and only child. Since she has trouble expressing her feelings and guards them very well, it was unsurprising when Amina found it challenging to make friends after her mother's death. Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
With the death of her mother occuring just months before she entered her freshman year of high school, Amina was no social butterfly. Despite taking a rigorous course schedule, Amina often skipped class to smoke cigarettes on the side of the building or to simply leave school. With no friends to help her through her school days, Amina temporarily filled the void the loss of her mother created with sports: soccer, tennis, even track and field, all of which she excelled in. Six months before she was supposed to graduate high school, her father, who was the county Sheriff, taught her how to handle and operate a variety of weapons including: his standard issue pistol, a sniper rifle, and a pump action shotgun. With her high school graduation near, Amina lost focus of her future and begins experimenting with drugs, attending parties, and hanging out with the "wrong crowd" according to her father.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
Skipping school might have saved her life that day. Watching the outbreak on television, she quickly locked all her doors and windows and called her father. Her father soon returned home from duty, not even attempting to scold her for missing school, and together they boarded up their windows and doors, relying solely on the resources they had within the house to survive the initial outbreak. For weeks they stayed hunkered down in their house, determined to make their dwindling supply of food and water last. After all power and electricity stopped and never started back up again, they could no longer drink water from the sinks and were forced to scavenge for new supplies and a safer place to hole up.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
Together, armed with only a few guns and a map, Amina and her father traveled south, eventually connecting with a group of about two dozen survivors. Her father, being the only individual with any real training, quickly became one of the leaders. To ensure that his daughter would form relationships with the other survivors, he appointed his daughter as a scavenger - an individual or group of individuals who regularly leave the base camp to search for supplies in nearby areas. It was on these trips into cities and neighboring towns that she developed many of her survival skills. Already in good shape from playing sports, she had no problem roaming the streets and fighting off the undead. That was until she watched many of her fellow survivors die, devoured by rotting mouths attached to deformed beings. For a while, the constant death was horrifying to her, the stench overwhelming. With the fear of death pushing her on, she managed to successfully scavenge enough supplies to allow their small group to survive for a couple of months. The safety of her camp soon ended when a group of biters invaded during the night. Many of the survivors were disoriented and unprepared, too slow to react to the nearing danger. At least half were bitten and taken down immediately, including Amina's father. She had discovered him laying on the ground and the biter that did this to him had been smashed to pieces beside him. In one hand was his gun, the finger still on the trigger, and the other was holding a gaping wound just above his breastbone - a wound that always proved fatal. With no choice but to put her father out of his misery, they say their goodbyes, and with tears streaming down her cheeks she ends her father's life. Emotionally distraught and unable to bear witness to the destruction and misery that overtook her small group she left the night after burying her father in his shallow grave. With only her backpack, she sets off south, towards where she hopes she will either find a safe place for herself or a group to survive with.
