List 3 or more good personality traits:
- Cunning: Blight does not think two moves ahead--rather, he thinks five to six moves ahead, estimating the actions of adversaries and even "friends" both in combat and in conversation.
- Ruthless: Blight does whatever it takes to get a job done. If he's told to kill, he kills. If he's told to rob, he robs. If he's told to torture, he tortures. Consequently, he is an efficient asset and, if his boss is an amoral person, the best man for the job.
- Charismatic: Though not considered "friendly" by any sense of the imagination, Blight is a charismatic man, and can certainly use his gregarious nature to get his way in conversation, be it with friends or enemies.
List 3 or more bad personality traits:
- Crude: Blight can often offend those around him by his mannerisms, methods, or things he says. He does not much care what others think, though others' opinions of him are often worsened by his demeanor.
- Rigid: When it comes to his job, Blight has his methods and his methods alone. Tell him to kill someone, raid a settlement, etc., and he's your man. The moment he is told how to do this, he becomes indignant.
- Arrogant: Due to his prowess both physically and with weapons, Blight is an arrogant man, and often overestimates himself in the face of danger, behaving as if he were invincible.
List 3 strengths:
- Familiarity with firearms
- Physical Strength
- Strategic
List 3 flaws:
- Quick to anger
- If his emotions are triggered, impulsive
- Lessened lung capacity due to lifelong smoking
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Friedrich Wilhelm Blight is the son of a German couple living in Cape Town, South Africa. His family being white and of the upper class in South Africa, Blight enjoyed a privileged childhood during which he excelled in school and in sports. Growing bored in his idleness, Blight ventured north with friends as he entered into his 20s, after leaving university and jobs he held by virtue of the family name. Along with his friends, Blight became interested in the prospects of poaching--particularly of elephants, and selling their tusks to people in East Asian countries. In time, Blight found himself among a new group of people, doing the work largely for fun. Being independently wealthy, the cash was just a bonus, with Blight always getting a rush from taking down the massive animal.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Blight was on a plane from Madrid to Brasilia during the outbreak. As news of the outbreak reached the cockpit, the plane made an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, where the passengers all finally saw what had happened on the ground. With no connections in the United States, and his familial connections gone regardless due to his parents being deceased, Blight elected to head north from Atlanta along the Atlantic coast.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- Blight stuck to population centers, as these had more people and, thus, more opportunities to rob. Blight traveled alone throughout most of his time before arriving in Washington, DC. Initially wanting to explore the White House more as a joke than anything, thinking it to be empty, Blight discovered a presence there different from that of the government before the outbreak. His ruthless nature quickly came into focus, and he was enlisted as something of a "go-to" with regards to more dangerous missions that Eric Folsom wishes to carry out. Blight has no official command of armed men on a daily basis--he is more of an independent agent who is assigned the dirtier, riskier tasks. Only then is he given temporary command of the men he takes into the field, and sometimes even then it is a shared command.
