Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Life was good for the Crowe's. Francine met her husband when they were young and she was studying for her bar exam and making money as a model here and there. Before she knew it, she ended up pregnant with their first child, Bryce, at the age of 21 and she ended up dropping out of school. Her husband took care of her, using the Crowe family fortune to start their new life together. He made smart investments in the small town of Poulence that eventually grew into their own nest egg. As the family started to grow, so did their investments in real estate and buildings, allowing them to move into a luxurious property that was an old plantation mansion. They put in modern necessities, including a pool and a large guest house on their property that eventually became all the boy's rooms. When their father died, Francine was now alone, a single mother in charge of a large family of boys and a business that she only dabbled in to help her husband out.
Francine took over the business with gusto but kept coming across the 'good old boy' network of local politicians and land owners. They laughed at her efforts to take over her husband's role which made her more ruthless in her endeavors. As her son's grew older, she saw the potential for them to make sure she got what she wanted and sometimes that involved actions that proved to be very questionable with the law. Thankfully, Bryce was a local police officer who could cover their tracks.
Soon, their jobs were turning to other things aside from muscling property out of the hands of people, taking over buildings in town and wooing the people in power. Francine had her ways and some of those ways were had behind closed doors. The boys were turning to bigger crimes, including robbery and burglaries, stealing items of value to sell outside the state for cash. It afforded them a luxurious lifestyle which included fast cars. One Christmas Francine bought all the boys air boats so they could race through the Bayou, which caused quite a stir with city parrish officials.
The Crowe brothers were known for their wild parties which usually included dares, drugs, moonshine and beautiful women while Francine watched. They owned this town, or so they believed, and it stayed that way up until the end of times. Francine always had a leash on her boys though and her syndicate was only enhanced when she brought Randi Appleton in as her assistant and bookkeeper. Not only did she keep things in order financially so no questions were asked, but Randi made the boys happy as well, especially Beau. She was always in control and she liked that about Randi considering how out of control the boys could get.
It was a wild life with sometimes wild consequences but her boys had their own personalities. Bryce was the captain of the ship, using his power in law enforcement to keep their name clean even though he had his own dark side and alternate life. Beau was steady and calm but dangerous when angered and a quick thinker when things were tight. Buck was the wild child and troublemaker only tamed after their father died. She had become closest with him, helping him cope with the loss as they stuck together like glue. Bradley was the adrenaline junkie who loved drugs, women and booze and that led to too much trouble. Bubba was her special child, born after a lurid affair gave her the gift of life. She knew it made him feel like an outsider even when the boys accepted him into the fold and Boyd was the youngest. He was quiet and smart, capable of many, many things, including hacking and coding to make their bank accounts just a little more full.
