Her hand fell on her knife and she waited for his reaction but he moved so fast. She felt his hand wrap around her neck and her body was slammed into a wall. Her head hit the wall and her ears were ringing the coolness of the blade touched her throat. The grip on her throat was so tight that is was making her breathing come out a wheezing. His voice roared as her which made her head ring even more. She could feel his warm breath on her face and she tried to listen to everything he had to say. The grip on her neck was constricting her airway and making her dizzy.
Eventually she was tossed aside and landed in the water. Her hand went to her throat and she coughed. Her eyes went to castle as he stormed into the ship and her eyes looked around at the group of people. Dean came and helped her up which she pushed past him back towards the ship and didn’t stop till she was below deck standing over her sons playpen he was awake but happy and content she left him be. Dean followed her inside her hand was still on her neck as she turned to him.
Her eyes found him and she hugged him tight and her face buried in his chest. She wouldn’t normally be upset but she felt rather emotional. A few tears escaped but she stayed silent for a few moments before she let his go and plopped down on her bunk and looked at the floor. “God he’s such an asshole.” She said her voice was raspy but quiet.
Dean followed her into the femal living quarters. He wasn't sure what to say to be honest. He just wanted to make sure she was ok. He didn't give a damn about the training anymore. He thought he was going to learn how to properly and safetly use the shotgun he found and instead it was all about humilitaion and cardio; what a joke. He stood in the door until she looked up at him, he was about to ask if she was ok when she buried her face in his chest. It was ..... nice. Not that he was scheming, he didn't really care about that. But here was this strong woman who had managed to raise a child as a single mother; as far as he knew, in the apocalypse and she was still bad ass enough to punch a hard ass like Castle square in the face..... And she was looking to him for comfort. Dean was never really good at this stuff, but he could offer her something to make her smile. He was corny as hell, but a smile is still a smile no matter the reason for it. Dean hugger her close and watched as she sat down on the bed.
Skylar: "God, he's such an asshole."
Dean plopped on the bed right beside her. He lifted her hand to admire the red marks on her knuckles. They were red from the sucker punch she had just gave Castle only moments before. Dean whistled out loud and admired the knuckles as if they were the knuckles of Muhamed Ali. He looked up to her and there was a big goofy trademark Dean grin on his oh so corny face.
Dean: "Yeah, but how great did that feel?!? You know..... you're kinda a bad ass for taking a swing at rambo like that."
Skylar left her gaze on the floor as she listened to walker moving around and making noises. She felt dean plop down beside her and she let a deep sigh escape her lips. She hadn’t really paid any mind to her hand until she felt dean lift it which caused her to wince but she let him keep holding it. When he whistled at her hand she just rolled her eyes and a small smile formed. She pulled her hand away and made a fist relieved to find it wasn’t broken. Her eyes looked down at the red knuckles and her mind replayed her fist connecting with his jaw.
“Yeah it felt great and he deserved it for picking on you for making a mistake. Shit everyone fucking makes them and he things he’s so fucking perfect. Fuck him.” She said a little irritation in her raspy voice her eyes falling on dean. He had that corny smile she had seen earlier when he used her son to score a dinner date. She made a fist again and softly tapped Dean’s jaw before looking at her hand again. “Yeah that’s right I’m a complete bad ass so you know not to piss me off.” A smirk formed and she laughed and kept her eyes on dean.
After a few moments everything got quiet and her eyes still remained on that corny expression Dean had on his face. The next move was impulsive and she leaned closer to him and her lips met his for a few moments before she pulled away. She wasn’t even sure why she did it but it happened now and there was no going back. Maybe it was that corny smile and his dumb jokes. Or maybe it was the concern her showed outside but she didn’t regret it.
Dean had been sitting and talking to the beautiful woman with a grin on his face, and the next moment.... His grin faded. It was replaced with two soft pink lips that merely lingered for a second and were gone. Dean didn't say anything. He was shocked for one. He didn't really think his baby gag had worked out that well, but he was fine with the results just the same. He was turning a little red now. He would never admit it out loud, but he wasn't exactly a lady's man pre- apocalypse. He focused so hard on making it as an actor he spent very little time focusing on making a family, or finding a girlfriend, his dating and social skills were evolved to about a college level and nothing further. He looked at Sky, unable to keep the smile from returning to his lips.
Dean: "So..... if this counts as our date....... then it's pretty much the best date i've ever had!"
Dean looked down at walker. Suddenly ashamed for macking on the little man's mom right in front of him. Even if she was a MILF that's just not cool. Dean reached into the playpen to once again let Walker play with his finger. He seemed to get a real kick out of it the first time. But this time Walker only stared at him. He wasn't smiling or laughing or coo'ing he was only staring as if to say 'you better stay the hell away from my mama.' Well dam! That's discouraging.
Dean: " Looks like little man switched sides to be on uncle Willy's team. I was sorta hoping at least someone in your family didn't hate me."
Dean thought about Willy and then he realized that he had just kissed his sister. That was not going to go down smooth. He figured though, if worst came to worst; Sky had a hell of a right hook!
“Nah this doesn’t count as a date, but I’ll take it as the best time of your life though.” She said a playful smirk on her lips. She watched as he leaned and put a finger in the playpen for Walker to play with but there was nothing. “No love for you it seems hun.” Laughter escaped her for a moment but her hand went to her throat. It was sore and she was sure it was bruised to hell. She heard him call her brother Willy and just sighed and shook her head. “Don’t call him willy. You’re not doing yourself any favors. I’m the only person allowed to call him that and it’s because I’m his sister. So he tolerates it because it’s me.”
She looked back at Dean with her hand moved from her throat after a few moments. “Is it bruised as bad as I think it is?” She said pointing at her neck which she grabbed a ponytail holder out of her bag and pulled the hair off her neck to give him a better view. She never was good at the whole carrying a conversation with another person especially after spending months alone running for her life. Her people skills were more rusty then they had been her whole life Though they were probably better than Castle’s because he seemed like an all-around douchebag.
Her next moved placed her lips on his but this time there was more fire and lust behind it. Her right hand moved up to the back of his neck and her fingers moved through his hair. After several moments she broke the kiss but her forehead rested against his as she caught her breath. “Thanks for checking on me. That’s was really sweet.”
Sky had moved her hair so he could see her neck. There were bruises already forming. Dean was going to wait for Castle's jaw to feel 100% better and this time he was going to break it. He felt angry. All that talk about team work and helping each other survive because we were all we had and he almost choked a mother to death? The fuck is wrong with that guy? Dean's internal thoughts always were heavily laced with prophanity. He chose his spoken words more carefully. When she asked if it her neck was ok, Dean lightly traced his hands along her neck, letting his fingers glide across the soft bruised skin. His eyes were soft; his expression empathetic. He really couldn't stand that he hadn't been there to..... well ok lets be honest be there to get his ass kicked for her honor.
Dean: "Yeah it looks like it's a little.....
Then out of nowhere...... She kissed him again. This time there was more passion and fire behind it, her soft lips pressing to his. He felt her hand in his hair and he couldn't help but look up when he felt it even though her eyes were closed. Dean was confused. He wasn't exactly sure what was going so right that he kept getting surprised by this spur of the moment kisses, but he was enjoying them all the same.
Dean: "Ok, definatly not a date, this never happened on any of the dates i went on, more like the end of the night handshake kinda deal...."
Dean was nervous. When he got nervous he made more stupid jokes, because well..... That's what he did. He had always been that way. He felt like she was the one person on the ship that he'd met so far who had really saw him. Noticed him, and not just noticed he used to be slightly famous, but noticed that he was a man and not some goofy accident prone; garbage man. She rested her head on his shoulder and he rested his chin on her head. His eyes wandered over and he saw that the bracelet with the word lucky on it was still hanging from the bunk above hers. It made him smile.
