Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Avery was born eleven months before her little brother. Despite the months gap they were born the same year, and ended up in the same class all through school. She was always put after him. Regarded as the quiet southern bell she was often in her brother's shadows. While he had potential. She had smarts. What she lacked in courage, he excelled in. Though the way the town saw it. He was going to move on, but she was the more mature out of the pair.
The night of her senior prom her mom was in a car accident. Another student, drunk off his mind hit her head on. She was paralysis from the waste down, forced to be in a wheel chairs. It hit them hard. Her brother was to angry at the town, and left to join the army. Avery stuck around. She was set on helping her dad in the shop, selling guns to all the red-neck and southern boys who came in.
While her brother was enjoying time in the city, Avery was barely making it by. She lived at home, barely making enough money to pay the Crowe's rent who owned the land they had their shop on. Her father worked hard, doing everything to take care of his wife and her. One heart attack later he was forced to retire.
Avery now ran the shop alone, and had been for a few years. Her dad helped out a bit, but he was no longer aloud heavy lifting or strenuous work. This fell on her most days.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Avery and her parents had all gone to New Orleans for the day. They enjoyed a nice breakfast in the square, some sheet music. Deciding to go to the zoo, they walked around, looked at the animals. The animals were behaving weirdly, pacing and acting abnormally. The zoo was closed early, and everyone were rushed, out no explanations.
Deciding on a nice diner they met up with Colton, as they often did everytime upon coming to the city. It was a yearly thing, more if he had the time. Every so often they liked to catch up. Avery and Colton may not have been the closest, but it was fun to catch up and chat. It was while they were eating riots broke out.
The four of the. Barely made it out, fighting there way to the an apartment. Avery assumed it was Colton's or a friend of his. As the closed off the widows and doors, they waited the night, scared, but at least they had each other. That was all that mattered now.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- They lasted about a week till the dead became to much. They crowded the streets. Soon they flooded into the apartments. Pushing down doors and crushing entry ways. The weeks spent gathering food, should have been barricading and securing the doors. As the zombies came in, they were forced out.
Making a run for the stairs they got stopped. Momma couldn't move further, and Colton offered to carry her. But it was to late, a walker tore a chunk from her leg and as Avery and Colton ran, they dragged her down. Avery was all tears as they got to the roof, as was their father. But they got through it, made it down the fire escape and into the street.
The next morning Avery went into the bathroom for find her dad desd. He had turned, one of them, over night. She couldn't bare to see her papa like this. Wasting no time she striked, stabbing him in the throat with a straight razor. He kept coming and she tripped his legs out. As he fell his head clipped the sink and he died.
It took a few days before they could leave. Colton consoling her most night. But eventually they did. Together her and Colton stayed in New Orleans for the better part of a year. They kept to themselves, scavenged supplies. Most people they came across were friendly, or ignored them. If anyone got to rough, Colton took care of them. For a while they travelled with a cop and his step kid and wife, but got separated from them one day.
From there they left to Mississippi. It was there A dry got and idea. She hopped on a radio tower and tried to call a client of hers. This guy but guns in bulk, always came all the way over from Tenesse for their weapons. He was old friends eight heir dad, and knew the family well. He was crazy, and thought the world was ending. Little did they know he was right.
They travelled there and stayed with him for about a year. He had food, water, shelter, guns to fight the dead. It was to good to be true. And it was. A year in the man got handsy. Avery knew he had been sneaking peeks at her changing, or touching himself to her at night. She brushed most of it off, the gear and food was to good to pass up.
But one day this guy had enough. He corned her while she was changing, started groping and kissing her. She called for help and Colton came running. She watched as her brother killed this man, splattering his brains with a fire of his gun. With that they loade duo everything they could carry and left, take all the food, water, and ammo they could.
Now three years in they are running low. There was only one place to go, home. Avery hoped that the shop still held the guns they had. The ones stored away in the vault or in hiding. Colton just hoped their home was still standing. It was all they had going for them.
