She could feel Lane moving under her grasp, she sat back so he could move...not wanting to be like a human straight jacket. His eyes darted around the room, eventually landing back on her when he spoke. As if on cue when he mentioned how big the shirt was the large neck slipped off one of her shoulders. The shirt underneath it felt disgusting.....memories of yesterday sticking to it. Blood, dirt, and other things she didn't want to think about. She pulled her arms into the big shirt, using it as a dressing room of sorts. Shimmying around until she managed to get the smaller filthy shirt up through the neck of the cleaner one. She looked at the shirt a moment then tossed it across the floor away from herself. She frowned for a moment but her expression quickly changed when Lane ask why she was touching his face earlier. She reddened, her cheek that wasn't injured showing a brilliant red blush. She quickly looked away. Muttering a "Damn you.." loud enough to be heard. "Welllll...." She needed a distraction....Her gaze traveled down his body. Stopping at his ankle that she remembered he had hurt before the bandits even attacked. The huge shelf Brina had been able to move had fallen on him and pinned him....he had been limping before he was kidnapped...she couldn't imagine anything he'd been through had made it better. "....Are you ok?" She ask slowly....It was sort of a stupid question....none of them were ok.....but they were all alive.
The expression on his face turned serious, she could feel his hands skimming over her exposed skin. Hoping he didn't notice the way goose bumps popped up anywhere he touched. She didn't speak, unsure how to respond. Lane hadn't really shown any intentions other than friendship, she couldn't help but think of Julie and her question again. She didn't think they'd had a chance to talk...especially about something as silly as her.....but how long had she been out? She bit her lip, feeling a little shy for the first time in what felt like forever. Suddenly though Lane pulled her close, her eyes opened wide a moment but she didn't say anything. Instead she let her pale fingers splay across his bare chest. Imagining she could feel his heart beating through her skin.
She looked up when he spoke, a grin on her pale face. "I've always been told I was hard headed...." It was a shot at a joke, the comment obviously meaning mentally not physically. She followed Lane's gaze to see Brina and Julie....seemingly very comfortable together. But then Julie went to tend to the woman that was still nameless to her. "...What her name?" Charly ask softly, the discomfort with mentioning the woman clear on her face. She hated herself for what she had thought that night.....she was sure everyone else would as well if they found out. But Julie turned and looked at them. Throwing a little joking comment at them. Charly looked down, unsure how to handle it.
Up to this point nothing had happened between her and Lane....jokes, touches, light flirting. Nothing to insinuate that they were together....but were they? She realized that she was practically sitting in his lap now....and wasn't wearing pants on top of that. She immediately scooted a little, making a small gap between them. Her gaze still on the floor as she rubbed her slender arms. "...I need to find some pants...." She mumbled, the red hue taking hold in her good cheek again.
