Kennedy sat in the truck. He didn't drive, but he could have. Maybe it would have been better if he did. Instead he was alone with his thoughts. He had killed the girl, killed her when she struck him. He didn't mean to, but it was an instant reaction. Plunging his crowbar through her chest and watching her die at the end. But he'd do it again. It cripple the big man and shocked the farm. Just what he needed. At least they submitted for now.
He would see next time he came. If they didn't meet his standards, there might not be a farm at the end. As long as they kept supplying the food they did this time, he would be happy. Grain they had was a big plus, as well as the few bottles of milk. He was surprised to see a living cow. Made hi crave a burger. Maybe in time. The rest of the stuff they took was pretty pointless. Veggies and canned goods, just supplies to add to their ever growing stock. Least they knew what the roughly had. Simple, easy stuff.
As they neared the gates the trucks stopped. The lead car opened it up and the others drove in behind them. Parking off by the bay Kennedy stepped out. His men cheered and hollered as he grinned. "Alright, get these to the fucking supply room. See to it the trucks are emptied and and ready for s next run. Load up the gas, run routine. All the other crap. You know what to do. Then go enjoy a drink, you earned it. Earl, you know what is expected of you. We won't make a big deal of it, but enjoy your drink. Will be your last."
Kennedy smirked, he saw Roxie off to the side. As he looked her up and down he beefed. He was craving a tall drink of what ever her legs offered and whatever bottle of booze she held in her hand. He didn't approach her though, no, he readied where he stood. She would come to him if she wanted to, and he knew she would.
Off to the side one of the people living st the estate came over. She was newer hear. Single mother of two. Young, brown hair down her back. Kennedy leaned on the truck as she smiled with him.
"Yeah just got back. Farm near the central part."
As he spoke with her he laughed at what she said. Idle conversation, chitchat. But he expect other motives. She,probably wanted to sleep with him, warm up, get close. Take hold of the power. He wasn't going to say no.
