Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
As a young girl, Sabrina was always was the type of person to make friends and enemies, and interact with them daily at school or in club activities. Growing up, she played all sorts of sports where she could in school, such as little league baseball for her town in Chicago, IL, or her school's volleyball and basketball teams. No matter what, she was always quite active. Her father, however, was a heavy drinker and often talked about things like sex even in front of their daughter, so Rachel, her mother, divorced him with Sabrina in her custody.
Throughout the years of her life in school, she went through different coaches for different sports curriculums. Around when she was 15, a freshman in high school, she was the type of girl that was into sports but was never a tomboy, she was quite aware of her femininity but never the danger it possessed. Once such event was after practice after school, Sabrina, going by "Brina" for short, was asked to stay to help clean the gym out such as put basketballs back in the correct baskets. She accepted, unaware of her new coach's intentions and his lecherous gaze over her body. When she went to the back office to put the key to the gym storage on the key rack, her coach came in behind her and closed the door and confronted Brina, trying to talk her into "helping him" and forcefully putting her hand on his groin while he did the same to her chest. Disgusted, she tried to pull herself away from him, saying "Leave me alone, I'll report this!" to no avail. The coach, named Brian Floors, pushed her forward onto the table with his body on top of hers and tugged her shorts and spats down, leaving Brina to turn her head onto the table with tears streaming down her cheeks and hitting the surface.
Hours later, she woke up in a blanket and in the arms of police inside of the room she was trapped in with the coach, and her step-father, a chief of police for the state and bodyguard to the Mayor, was down at the station where he was to have his "talk" with the perverted coach who defiled his daughter, while her mother was with her, holding her hand tearfully. Cue to a trip to the hospital via ambulance, and she was discovered to not have any STD's or STI's from her encounter, she was not pregnant despite the presence of semen inside of her and in her mouth, and her psychological profile was outstanding in that she was more than determined to push forward, no matter how hard it was to do as a rape victim. She took that determination to heart as she continued to go through school and graduated to college, where she first attended MIT and CalTech on financial aid and proceeded to graduate with an Associate's in Science and Mechanical Engineering, then went to the University of Pennsylvania and graduated an Ivy League alumni member specializing in Criminology and Electrical Engineering and Science. With those accomplishments under her belt, she returned home to visit her grandparents in Dearborn, Michigan, and went to drive a road trip back down to Illinois to go home and apply for the Chicago Police Department, determined to follow in her step-father Darrel's footsteps and go through the ranks, eventually reaching EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), something she learned Darrel went through, with undercover policeman under that, and chief afterwards. Months later, she got a call about a homicidal murder survivor and was ordered to go and pick him up in her guise as a writer. She did so, and found him to be named Jack Hammond. After saving him and helping him get his life back on track over the month or two of being with him and dating in the meantime, he proposed to her. Off-duty, she was ecstatic because she was being asked by such a nice man who never hurt her, and so she wholeheartedly yelled "Yes!" to him and ended up kissing him for the upteenth time.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
Months later after her marriage, Brina was up at night while her husband was sleeping in bed, preparing for work the next day, when she got a call from her parents. It was a frantic call for help. Something about someone banging on their door and what not, like a riot was going on. That wasn't good! She woke Jack up just to tell him she had some work to do, and kissed him back when he kissed her to show he understood. "Be safe, I love you," was all she last heard from him after she returned his "I love you", and left from her Evanston residence to head to the Chicago suburbs. She was met with chaos, numerous rioters all over the city streets. She managed to make it through the crowd and make it to her parents' house. She found the door busted open after she exited her car, and went inside to find a man stabbing her mother. "No!", she remembered yelling before tackling the man to the ground and punching him furiously to knock him out. Panting, she searched her house after closing and locking the front door, then called for the CPD. Finding it was busy, presumably with the riot outside, she took the time to look for her step-father, saddened over the loss of her mother. Finding he wasn't there, she could only deduce that he was at the station. She got back out after a change of clothes, and left the house to drive to the station now that the majority of the riot has passed.
Arriving at the police station, she found it deserted, not even the receptionist was there, but she did find blood on the counter. She proceeded to get into the security room as it was unlocked, closed the door behind her to look at the security monitors. She was going to get fired for this, but what the hell, it was an emergency. She watched the monitors but found what looked to be cops inside walking...strangely. She figured it was an injured cop that was guarding the station, so she ignored him while looking for Darrel. Seeing he wasn't there, she sighed and got up to leave the room and the station, only to be ambushed by a looting rioter armed with a shotgun. She fought him off when he tried to search her, and ended up dislocating his shoulder to get him to drop his gun before taking it herself and stumbled back to her car, not having the time to apprehend him at the moment. She prepared to drive when she saw a man in her district's police uniform stumbling towards her, in the same gait as the man in the security footage. When he got closer to her window, he growled and tried to lunge for her, startling her into revving up her car to drive off without him. Huffing, she dialed her husband's number on her phone but got no answer. Pulling up to their house, she went inside to find her house deserted, but no sign of a struggle, nothing was taken, and no dead bodies in sight. Where could he have gone? Did he try to go out to search for her? But she didn't see him on her way back there! Muttering under her breath, she tried to dial him up again while she made a quick change of clothes into a light jacket, shirt and some shorts with boots, and put a hip pack she ordered sometime back on her waist. She had everything she needed, so she locked the door prior to leaving, and went on the road, searching for her husband and any people needing help themselves.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
Brina's life post-Apocalypse is that of wandering the wasteland of the dead, determined to find her husband who she just knew had to have survived the hordes and was sheltered elsewhere, or at the very least try to find his body if he was dead, zombie or not. Each day she went through only kept her hope for the survival of Jack, her husband, alight when she saw no body that was his.
