Cole observed the doctor over Melish, and as she began her prayer, Cole continued to whistle his tune. He didn't fault anyone for their belief, even if it was the 'wrong' one. But hearing her prayer made him feel nothing. There was no sorrow, there was no pity. She put herself in her predicament. No 'god' or 'divine' being was going to save her, or anyone else. People were going to either save themselves or get themselves killed. It was as simple as that. Stupid people make stupid decisions and when faced with the reality of those consequences, they lash out desperately, as she had.
As he whistled, he, Cole withdrew his pistol and rested it on his right leg as he checked his watch on his left wrist. More than two minutes had passed. Looking to Doctor Hashimoto, he flipped the safety on the pistol off and pulled the slide back on the pistol and racked a round into the chamber whistling all the while.
He paused only a moment to speak briefly. "Just in case he's late." Staring down at the woman with disdain and an ever growing hatred, he gingerly resumed whistling 'Time Is On My Side'. Regardless if the man returned in time or not, he thought about killing her. Then they could kill her 'friend' and just say they came up empty.
The two soldiers followed Dom quickly but remained silent. He moved quickly and that was exactly what they needed. Upon finding the possible location of where the doctor's bag was stashed, the two troopers moved quickly and efficently, checking corners and the rear now and again.
While Dom searched, the clock was still ticking before Greer spoke up. "Hey asshole, hurry the fuck up. It's either where you left it or you are fuckin' stallin'." This was in reference to Dom checking cars and turning up empty. When Dom turned up with the bag, Greer paused a moment as Watkins looked at Dom. "I'm callin' it in," Greer said as Dom continued to move, Watkins following suit. "En route with cargo."
Watkins was nipping at Dom's heels as he sprinted after the man. "Pray our guy don't die. Y'all might still be on a choppin' block here," Watkins said as Greer was several feet behind but still moving at a solid pace.
As the radio chimed, Cole didn't answer it. He just continued to whistle. His eyes were focused on Doctor Hashimoto. If it wasn't clear by now, the only way to make her understand that he honestly would rather her dead was to just flat out say it. But he was a man of his word but time was almost out.
He didn't care that her friend was almost there with the bag. If he was late the deal was off. It was as simple as that. Slowly but surely he turned the pistol to face Hikari as he stared the woman down. It was then that Dom entered with the bag panting, followed by both Watkins and Greer.
"You have..." he looked to his watch and nodded. "...twenty-seven seconds. Doc, you have twenty-five to administer the antidote. Twenty-two, twenty-one..." He aimed the pistol at Hikari and looked to Greer and Watkins. "Get him on the ground and bind his hands. Speaking of, you alone?" he said nonchalantly to Dom. "Let me guess, 'yeah, you're alone', right?" he said somewhat sarcastically. "All of these assholes are alone. Like the one from Polk. All of them made it on their own this whole fuckin' time. Maybe they should run shit," he said to Greer and Watkins as they zip-tied Dom's hands behind his back and both offered a light chuckle.
Cole sighed and shook his head. "Doc, you about done? That time is about up. I don't wanna rush you or anything but..."
