(This thread is hours after Lara's post in Cabin Fever. Cabin is roughly cleaned up. Robert's body has been dealt with. Feel free to post here as a back story thread while we move to Colorado.)
It has been a few hours sense the group has arrived at the cabin. Not long after Lara came out of the cabin Lucy heard her scream. Wyatt had told her to stay in the vehicle. It turned out the old man had died on the way. She never knew him, but it still made her sad when anyone died. Lucy was currently laying down on one of the beds. Her hands drawing imaginary pictures on the wall next to her.
The young girl wondered where they would go next. Would they stay here forever? Would they move on? She didn't know. Sitting up she looked over. "Are we going to leave this place soon?" She asked. To be honest she wanted to leave. The cabin smelled weird and it took them what felt like ages to clean up area.
Lucy swung her feet over the side of the bed, swinging them back and forth. She was rather bored and wasn't the tired anymore. Meeting some new people had given her a rush of adrenaline so she figured she wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. If the group left in the morning maybe she would take a nap while they drove.

The dead of Robert had hit Wyatt hard, when he heard the scream of Tala and rushed to her side, he saw what happened. He made sure Tala was fine, before he went to check the body, when he did he felt defeated. As usual he didn’t cry or anything, but it hurt him from the inside, he was angry for not keeping him safe, sad for losing him and afraid to lose any others. But once more he stayed strong and kept his focus to keep his group safe.
They now spend a few hours in the cabin, Wyatt his wound still needed checking, but it didn’t happen yet, because of the recent events. It was like everyone needed a moment to process what happened, it had been quiet in the cabin too, so Wyatt was pretty sure he wasn’t the only one to fee defeated.
Wyatt was just about to ask Tala to finally take a look at his shoulder, when he heard Lucy asking something. He looked at her and smiled as she asked if they would leave soon. “Easy there, little one, we rest up first, then we go.” He said forcing a smile. “Besides, I think I speak for most of us, if I say we need some time to mourn our loss.” He added. “Rob, was a really good man.” He spoke while his heart was bleeding from the inside. He knew he had to try and cheer things up for everyone’s sake, but especially for Lucy, she was still so young, she shouldn’t be thinking of dead, not even in the apocalypse.
“But anyways, when Tala has checked my wound, I’ll come to talk to you for a bit, then time will pass faster.” He said with a wink. “Speaking off, you up for that Tala?” he asked looking at her again forcing a little smile. He wanted to speak to her, she was the one that had to put Rob down, he knew it wasn’t easy, so he wanted to check on her. “I hope you are, I want to talk to you.” He added.
Lara looked over at Wyatt when he spoke. She wasn't ignoring anyone, she was just stuck in her own head. What had she done wrong? Robert's injury didn't seem that bad. She couldn't believe he had died. That she'd had to put him down. Wyatt wanted her to help him with his gunshot wound. Holy shit, she'd not cleaned it or anything yet! Damn , fuck! If something was wrong because of the delay, it was her fault!
Her eyes glanced at Lucy," we will be leaving soon, promise." She nodded at Wyatt," yeah, all the stuff is in the RV and ambulance, I can go get it." She grabbed a flashlight and headed for the door. She honestly wanted to be alone, to process all that had happened. Part of her wanted to talk to Wyatt though, to ask him if he believed what Carter had said about the girls. She wanted to go to Colorado and find them, alone if she had to.
Lara walked out to the RV, and opened the door. She paused and took a deep breath before she climbed up inside. Her eyes glanced around and she started grabbin medical stuff and putting it in a small box. She hadn't realized anyone followed her til she heard a noise behind her. She whirled with the flashlight raised to smack someone in the head, and stopped when she saw Wyatt.

Wyatt smiled at Lucy as Tala promised her they would leave soon. “See it will all be fine.” He said with a warm smile. He nodded as she said she would get the stuff. Then he watched her walking outside and he wanted to take this moment to speak her in private. “I’ll be right back sweetheart.” He said looking at Lucy. “If something bad happens, yell as loud as you can, I will only be a second away.” He added. "Oh and of course the others are here too." he said before walking off.
Then he left the cabin, following Tala. Wyatt climbed in the RV and was nearly greeted by a bang of the flashlight. “Easy there, woman.” He said with a little smile as he raised the hand of his good arm a little. “I…..” he said pausing not knowing how to start. “I just want to talk to you, just us two, I want to know if you are ok.” He spoke as he looked in her eyes.
Wyatt then grabbed her hand and softly rubbed the upside with his thumb. “You don’t always need to let your strong side have the upper hand.” He spoke. “It’s hasn’t been easy, not for you, not for any of us.” He spoke. “And sometimes it’s good to let all those emotions out.” He added. Keeping his eyes locked with hers he continued. “I’m worried, so I came here, to have a decent conversation.” He spoke. Wyatt had never shown this side of him or at least not much, but this time so man yshit had happened, which made him realize it was time to give in to this side of himself. He needed to be there for Tala, he felt like they were being pushed apart, he didn’t want that, so he tried to fix it.
(thought it was ok to skip the others, since we are away from them?)
"Easy there, woman." She gave a sigh, hadn't even realized she was holding her breath. His hand was over hers, holding the flashlight with her. She locked eyes on him as he spoke and realized he wasn't letting go.
Lara shook her head and pulled her hand back, "I'm fine, Wyatt." She moved back from him, wanting to get this over with. "Come on, let me have a look, probably best to check it in here, away from the girl." She leaned against the counter and put the flashlight down. She rubbed her eyes with the palms of her hands. God , she was so tired. Tired of all this, this death.
Lara pointed at the seat beside the table, "Have a seat, take off your shirt, let me have a look." His shirt was crusted with dry blood. She shook her head, again, her fault. It should have been checked awhile ago.
She grabbed some water out of the box and some clean rags. Her hands. Shit. She tossed the rag on the floor she had just touched. She grabbed a bottle of rubbing alcohol and poured it into her hands. She scrubbed her hands together. She waved them around to dry them.
No more rags, so she grabbed a few gauze and soaked them in the alcohol to clean the area. It was a through and through. Lara cleaned the front and the back, "I'm sorry if this hurts." She knew it would sting like a sonofabitch, but she didn't have much choice. It couldn't get infected. She cleaned as best she could, and it started to weep blood again.
She looked down at Wyatt, and touched his flesh as gingerly as possible. "I should probably sew it, it's not bleeding bad, just cause of me touchin it, I think." She wasn't a doctor, she didn't really know about all this. All she knew was that the wound needed to be closed. She gazed down at hi and tossed the gauze into a trash bin.
She cleaned her hands again from his blood, "Can you grab that needle and thread in there." She didn't want to touch too much, and dirty her hands again. She grabbed a clean bowl from a cupboard and told him to put the stuff in there, she poured some alcohol over it. "Let me know when you're ready, this is gonna hurt. Maybe you want one of ..." she paused, swallowed, "Robert's pills." She pointed at the bottle on the table.
Mason sat on a lawn chair on the roof of the RV with a rifle in hand. He had found the rifle with plenty of ammunition in the closet of the bedroom. Using it's scope he could scout the area very well from high up. Besides, he wasn't very tired. He always could stay up for long periods of time. Ever since the shit hit the fan with the world falling a part, Mason learned to live off of little sleep and still be able to function normally throughout the day.
He glanced over his shoulder and seen Lara with Wyatt following close behind as they both entered the RV. She's probably going to finally patch him up. He was banged up pretty bad. After all, he was shot. They were talking. He could listen in, but he really wasn't interested. He had promised Lara that he would keep watch, not ease drop.
He was the strongest. He wasn't affected by the old man's death and he wasn't physically damaged. If he wanted to, he could destroy the group right now. His thirst for blood was very strong. He wanted to kill Wyatt where he stood, slit the little girls throat, and behead Emyr. But for Lara, he decided not to. His desire to discover her was stronger than his lust for blood. So he stood quiet on the RV and continued looking through the trees into the darkness for any signs of danger. Danger protecting his victims from danger. It was ironic. But very necessary.

As usual Wyatt got the ‘i’m fine.’ From Lara. He sighed and shook his head. “I don’t believe that, but if you don’t want to talk, that’s fine too.” He replied. He looked at her as she said it was probably best to do it out of sight of Lucy. “Agreed.” He replied. He saw how she rubbed her eyes, she seemed really tired. “You should rest more, really.” Wyatt spoke.
Wyatt nodded as she asked him to sit down and take off his shirt. “What no foreplay?” Wyatt joked as he looked at Tala. He carefully took off his shirt, trying not to hurt himself, but failing. “Arg, dammit.” He said as he threw his shirt over the table.
Wyatt watched as she got ready and waited. Lara then got closer and apologized if it would hurt. When the alcohol soaked gauze touched the wound, Wyatt closed his eyes and bit his teeth as he felt the pain. “There are more pleasant things indeed.” He replied when she was done.
Lara told him, the wound needed to be closed and he agreed, even when she softly touched the flesh, it hurt. He nodded when she asked to get the needle and thread, then walked over to grab it, before tossing it in the bowl as she asked.
Wyatt said back down and looked at Lara as she asked him to tell her when he was ready. She also told him it would hurt and asked if he needed a pill of Robert. Wyatt noticed how she had a hard time speaking about it. “No thanks, let’s get this over with.” He said looking at her. Then he used his good arm, raised it and softly stroked her cheek with the back of his hand, before pulling away again. “I know it’s not easy losing someone, but you did the best you could.” He spoke.
He then took a deep breath. “Ready when you are.” He spoke.
Lara stared at him. He said she should get more rest, like she could just lay down and take a nap whenever she wanted to. He was trying to help, and offer her comfort, she knew that, but right now was not the time. It was his last words about losing someone that actually got a reaction from her.
He said she had done her best and that made her clench her fists," no, I didn't, I have no idea what I am doing Wyatt. I'm not a doctor or nurse. I've had no real training in any of this." She released her fist and pointed at the first aid stuff on the table," I'm guessing , every time..I don't even understand why he died. I thought his injury was just to his leg, it doesn't make sense." She paused, trying to get herself together," like right now, you're trusting me to do this, and I'm not even sure this is what I should do, al I know is that the bullet went through and isn't in there and you have two holes that probably should be closed up. I'm hoping it's the right decision." She hated being unsure of herself, and with what happened to Robert, she was second guessing everything that crossed her mind.
She reached down and picked up the needle and threaded it. " carter said the girls were alive, I don't want to ignore that. He might have been lying, but I need to know, I need to at least look for them, Wyatt, I made a promise." She stepped closer to him," if I have to go alone, I will, but I am gonna wait a day, maybe two and then I'm heading for Colorado." She had made up her mind and her tone let him know that." Alright, you should brace yourself." Lara held the wound closed with one hand and started piercing his skin with the needle with the other. She had to push harder than she thought to get it through his skin. She made faces, didn't like doing this at all.

Wyatt didn’t get any response, he just saw the look on Tala her face and he could tell she wasn’t in the mood for chatting. He knew the last days where shit, so he understood why she behaved like this. He looked at her as she finally replied, to the part where he said she did what she could.
Wyatt shook his head as she said she didn’t and how she had no clue what she was doing. “Hey, stop getting yourself down.” He replied. “Even if you don’t know what you are doing, it’s still better than doing nothing and let everyone die, not even giving them a chance to fight for their lives.” He spoke as he looked her in the eyes. “So be proud, that you were able to even give them a chance.” He added. “And yes I trust you, I would trust you every day with my life, because I know you will give everything what you have in you, to safe someone.” He spoke with a little smile. “Believe in yourself.” He added. “And don’t worry, I’m sure it is the right decision.” He spoke.
He looked at her as she spoke about what Carter said and how she made up her mind. “Same goes for me, I want to find out if he was telling the truth as much as you do.” Wyatt spoke. “And there is no way, I would let you go by yourself.” He added with a smile. “Like it or not, but you are stuck with me.” He spoke adding a chuckle in the end.
Wyatt then nodded as she told him to brace himself. It hurt like a bitch when she pushed his skin together, so the wound was closed, but Wyatt as always didn’t make a sound. It got worse when the needle went through his flesh. “Mmgh.” Wyatt made a soft sound this time, but stayed as strong as could be expected. He saw how Tala was making faces. “You…You are doing…just fine.” Wyatt said taking short pauses in between his words, to catch is breath.

Wyatt was a great guy, but she didn't want to feel better. She was angry. She wanted to be angry with herself and he was trying to build her up. He always tried to make her feel better. Not this time, someone died because she wasn't capable. She'd figure something out. Medical books. Robert had books in the ambulance. She'd start reading them.
He agreed with her about going to look forward he girls. Not wanting to allow her to go alone. That had got her to smile, at least. It hurt her to cause him pain, but she had to. Each sound he made had her wanting to stop, but she had to do this. She kept telling herself, to suck it up and get through it!
She felt the needle going through his flesh and thought she was gonna be sick. She had to talk, distract herself." Do you think Em is alright? He hasn't said much. The girl, what should we do. I mean, we can't leave her . And Mason, I want him to come with us too. I am taking watch with him once we finish and can talk to him about going to find the girls then." She was talking, not really too focused on what she was saying, but it was distracting her. She was almost done with the front hole.

Wyatt made all kind of weird sounds, but did his best to stay strong. He could handle pain, but that didn’t mean it was easy. He looked at Tala as she fired some questions at him, he figured talking would distract him from the pain a bit, so he replied. “Yeah, I think Emyr is fine, we all…..” he paused as the needle once more went through. “Mmmrgh.” Then he looked back up. “We all took a mental blow, with the dead of Robert, so he will close himself off again, but I’m sure we can pull him out.” He spoke.
Wyatt then paused again as the needle once more pierced through his skin, he closed his eyes and bit his teeth “I say we offer the girl to come with us, like you said, we can’t just leave her.” He replied. Then once more Mason his name came out of her mouth. Wyatt didn’t like she was slowly getting closer to him, not only because he still didn’t fully trust him, but also because he was afraid she would fall in love and he would hurt her. But was that all there was to it, or was he just jealous? Wyatt was pulled out of his thought as he felt another wave of pain.
When the needle was through he leaned in closer to her. “If you really want him with us, I won’t stand in the way, just be careful around him ok?” he whispered, making sure Mason didn’t hear a thing, since he was on the roof. Wyatt realized if Tala was going to have guard duty with Mason, he better slept with one eye open. He then waited for the needle to go through again as he wondered why Tala or most other people didn’t see that Mason was too sweet, it was too good to be true. But then he wondered if he was the one being wrong. What if Mason was an actual nice guy? Again he was pulled out of his thoughts as the needle made contact with his skin. “Arg.” He mumbled. “How is the closing going?” he asked with a slight smile.
Wyatt was telling her to be careful with Mason, "Why? Mason has done nothing but help, since he found us. I mean, Wyatt, he saved my life, I was under the car and a walker almost got me, it was one of those half ones and crawled right under with me, he pulled me out before it could ." She had paused with the thread and needle, and then focused again. "Almost, gonna start the back now." She cut the thread and tied it off. It looked alright to her, she wasn't a professional, but the skin was together, and no blood was seeping.
She shifted a bit as she started piercing his flesh on the back of his shoulder . She sucked in her breath through her teeth, 'Sorry, I hate hurting you." She had to really push to get it started through his flesh again. It made her feel sick to her stomach. As tired as she was, she would sleep for a little while after this."Almost done, not much longer. "
She was silent for a little bit, "Wyatt, you don't like Mason, do you? Why?" She wanted to know the real reason he didn't like the man. Mason had been nothing but nice to her, and it bothered her. Was she missing something? "I want him to come, he's useful, I mean, I don't want it to be just you and me taking the chances along the way. Extra eyes and hands would be useful. " Why was she feeling the need to explain herself? "I want to leave, soon, a day maybe."

Wyatt shook his head as Tala spoke about Mason, he had to agree that Mason did only good things and he wanted to give the guy a chance, but he wanted her to be careful just in case, he was really too good to be true. “I’m grateful, that he saved your life, cause honestly losing you, would drive me insane and I don’t say he’s a bad guy, I want to give him a chance.” Wyatt then paused as yet another wave of pain went through his body. “All I’m saying is be careful, just in case, be prepared for him being too good to be true, again just in case.” Wyatt added. “Don’t let your good heart cloud your mind.” He spoke again saying everything softly so Mason wouldn’t hear a thing.
Wyatt took a moment to catch his breath, after Tala was done with the front and mentally prepared himself for the back of the wound. As Tala pushed is flesh together, she apologized and said she hated hurting him. “You are helping me, not hurting me, so it’s ok.” Wyatt spoke trying to smile, but meanwhile feeling the horrible pain. They both went quiet, Wyatt focused on pushing down the pain as Tala focused on stitching up the wound. He nodded as she said she was nearly done and then it went quiet again.
Wyatt looked at her as she said he didn’t like Mason, followed by her asking why he didn’t like him. Wyatt had no clue how to answer the question, cause he had no idea why he disliked Mason so much. Was it because most strangers couldn’t be trusted or was it because Wyatt didn’t like people that where too nice, since mostly they were hiding something or was it because when Wyatt and Mason met the first time, he was being too close to Tala, was he jealous? He looked down as all these things went though his mind. Meanwhile he heard how Tala spoke about how extra eyes where good and also saying that she wanted to stay here for one day maximum and then leave. He waited for the pain wave and after that he looked up. “Honestly?” he asked, once more pausing as he felt the pain. “I have no clue.” He added . “It could be because people that are so kind mostly hide something, it could be because it’s weird seeing you so close with a stranger.” He spoke. “I mean, I like you Tala, I really do.” He spoke as he took a short pause feeling the pain. “And I don’t want someone to hurt you, like I said seeing you so close to him, just feels wrong.” He added.
Then he looked down again as he felt the needle going through his skin again. It had been the first time since he was so open about his feelings, well not completely open, cause he was sort of speaking in riddles, but this was a big step for him. He felt that Tala paused with stitching. “But if you want to bring him, I won’t stop you.” He said looking back up. “I will always be there to protect you, keep you safe, but just keep your eyes open, be careful.” He said as he slowly raised is good arm and placed his hand on her cheek, softly rubbing it with his thumb. Then he slowly lowered his arm, still keeping eye contact.
After this sort of special moment, Wyatt slowly looked down. “How is the back wound?” he asked.
Wyatt gave her an answer, sort of. Lara kept working while he spoke, listening. She paused once or twice as his words seemed to sink in. Lara did t know what to think. Wyatt was the over protective type, but then again, he was right. A lot of times, things were not what they seemed in this new world. People you thought you could trust turned on you, others just left, not being able to cope.
Lara worried that Wyatt wasn't saying everything. He wanted her to be safe, to be smart about where she put her trust. She got that, but the way he kept wanting to touch her was odd. His hand rested on her cheek and Lara smiled at him," it's okay, quit acting like the big brother, I can handle myself." She chuckled and cut the thread and tied it," all done, thank god." She was glad it was finished and she had t thrown up.
She stood for a second," hey, you gonna go back and check on Em and the kid? I'm gonna talk to Mason about what we wanna do next." She washed her hands and dried them on a towel. She stood near the door," I need to take a tube at watch anyway."

When Wyatt heard she called him a big brother he smiled, but deep down he didn’t know if he liked the title big brother, yes he would protect her, with his life even, but wasn’t it something different then a brother sister bond? He didn’t know it anymore. Wyatt sighed in relief when Lara said it was all done. “Thanks.” He said locking his eyes with hers while smiling.
He nodded as she asked if he was going to check on Lucy and Emyr, while she was going to talk to Mason. “Sure.” He replied with a smile, again hiding, that he still didn’t like it that she wanted to spend time with him. “Don’t take too long, you should take some rest.” he added with a wink, before getting up. Then he followed her outside and headed to the cabin.
(Unless Lucy wants to rp some more with Wyatt, I’m going to end it for Wyatt here ^^)
