When the man stood up straight and took her hand which caused her to flinch and jerk back. He said to follow him which she was reluctant to do. She then thought the worst case scenario was he killed her and she wouldn’t have to be crazy anymore. Following him reluctantly she went below deck to go search for whatever he was looking for. She had the pistol Nicole gave her tucked in the back of her pants so she wasn’t worried about anyone hurting her. He stopped at a room and when the door was opened in contained bottles of liquor.
Wasn’t that some lucky shit right there. Ask the lord and you shall receive well at least he answered the prayer for vodka. Taking the bottle from his hand she twisted the cap off and chugged some of it quickly. She would feel that soon and she lowered the bottle. “Lets go get wasted somewhere. “ she said reaching in and grabbing a bottle of some sort of rum. She led the way to on of the crew quarters bays that no one occupied yet.
No need to share with anyone tonight. They could spill the news about the party favors tomorrow. Tonight she just wanted to drink her sorrows. She found a bunk and plopped down on it turning the bottle up once more. She didn’t care about anything tonight including the baby in her body. “Cheers to the end of the world.” She said to Branden and raised her bottle to toast with him. They both seemed the only ones not so happy about the celebration of safety. It meant nothing when you missed someone.

Soon as he handed her the bottle, she snapped it out of his hand and without any hesitation she drank the liquor like no day tomorrow. Seeing what she did was surprising and it made him stare in awe for a minute, though he was glad she enjoyed it, cause now was just the right time to get wasted. "I`m with you on that." He answered with a smile and watched as she grabbed a few more bottles, which he choose to do as well. Together they walked out of the locker and went to one of the empty crew quarters, where they hopefully could drink in peace.
Good thing she didn`t worry about the consequences of what they were about to do, both of them seemed to share the same opinion on the matter, which was good. After she took a seat at one of the bed bunks, he sat down on the opposite end such that they faced each other. He put the other bottles down on the floor in between them, grabbed one for himself and removed the top to what presumable was some strong Whiskey. "To the end of the world!" He said and clanked the bottle with hers, taking a long big sip thereafter.
The first few sips was enjoyed in silence, as both had neither to say to the other. They were drinking to forget, and talking about the past only brought out the worst. After a few hours, their mind was blurred and they had little to no control of their actions. They joked and laughed, making fun of small things that sober people would feel no need to laugh about.
A few hours had passed since they started drinking. All the pain and bullshit was in the back of her mind for the most part. Her mind was glazed over the bottle of vodka she had almost finished. At first they drank in silence but after a while the both laughed and joked about stupid nonsense things. After a few moments Jess leaned against the ship wall and started off into space. “D..Do you ever wonder why we even keep going. “ she said quietly with somewhat slurred speech.
“Like everyone we love is dead if they are lucky. Its better than praying you don’t get killed every day your awake.” She continued quietly as she looked over at the man beside her. “I wish I could go back and change things. How could the world end up this way?” She said in a sad tone her eyes glassy from the tears welling up. She wasn’t even sure she wanted to try and keep going. There wasn’t much to live for and in months’ time she would have a tiny permanent reminder of what had happened to her.
“I miss him. I really do I keep thinking had I done things different maybe we both could’ve stayed alive but now here I am. Hes gone and im alone. My mind is completely going crazy.” She said still looking at the man beside her. She knew he could relate to loosing someone they had one thing in common. Turning up the bottle on newly opened rum she took a few sips then leaned forward and sat it on the ground. There was no way she was gonna get up right now anyway.
