It took her a few minutes to really get her bearings. She made a few wrong turns but she arrived at the CPO sleeping area after she sorted it out. Her assault pack was on one of the mid-tier bunks already, and soon her MOLLE vest was as well as her M4.
Nicole was uneasy. What made this worse was how tired she was. What made it nearly unbearable was the fact that she had a very real conversation with someone she didn't like but didn't disagree with the night prior. What drove her to the point of a break down was the fact she almost had a full on episode of PTSD in the store with the only person she really trusted. The fact that these two new 'military' faces showed up out of the blue had her ready to bounce off the walls and made her pace back and forth before she finally opted to sit down on another bunk.
She huffed once and leaned forward to quickly unlace her boots. Once she had done that, she quickly kicked them off and removed her socks immediately after. It felt good and allowed her to slow down a little. There is nothing better than taking off those boots at the end of the day. Flexing her toes made her smile. The relief she felt was huge.
Huffing once more, she tugged at the tan t-shirt she wore and discarded that too. She balled the shirt up and tossed it on the bunk across from where she was sitting now which housed her gear. Wearing her ACU pants and a black sports bra, she rolled into the bunk.
I can pass the fuck out right now...
That was a true statement. She could sleep right now. She wanted to sleep right now, but this nagging feeling that was growing in the pit of her stomach helped adrenaline surge into her system that kept her awake. Her hands crossed behind her head as she stared at the bunks top clearance which... wasn't very high now that she really looked at it.
Better than sleeping on the floors in the corner of the room. Or, ya know, not sleeping at all.
She sighed and she hoped that Jace 'got the message'. It was, after all, meant to seem out of place. Nicole just hoped he didn't shrug it off given what happened earlier. Closing her eyes helped her focus on her breathing in the mean time.
It wasn't unpleasant though...
Truth be told, it wasn't bad at all. She did wish that it was under a different set of circumstances though. Not that she would have kissed him at all anyway. But it was nice...
Nicole thought of the sudden meeting of their lips and let out one more heavy sigh before she began to drift into unconsciousness.
