Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Mitch was the first born child of his parents and stayed only child. They were the average family, not rich, not poor. He grew up to be a sweet kid, everyone loved him, since he was so adorable. So as a kid, his teachers called him a blessing to have in their class. But because of being so sweet, some kids bullied him, he could stand his ground, with words, but would never hit someone else, unless he really had to. He was also pretty smart and always had high grades. But all this made it hard for him to have friends, he had a few, but no one he could really depend on, most of them where just hangers.
That all changed when he met Hideki, a boy that had came all the way from Japan and his family had a house in their neighborhood. Their friendship started off as a tiny little seed and turned into a big beautiful tree. Over the years an iron bond was formed and they helped each other through some rough periods. Hideki was there when Mitch told his parents he was gay and the extra sweet part was that Hideki still supported him, he didn’t drop him because he was gay, they stayed friend and their bond only grew stronger. Mitch on his turn was there to help Hideki follow his dream to become a car mechanic. While Hideki turned out to be great at fixing cars, Mitch became a great cook and got a job in a restaurant, he always loved cooking. But there was one moment, he was so glad he had Hideki, it was when his parents died in a car crash. Hideki was the one to pull him through that dark period.
All of that made them nearly inseparable, so they rented a place together. But it didn’t stay like this, their relationship grew even higher. Both of them felt weird and uneasy when the other one was dating and when they would ask each other for approval, it seemed none of them where ever good enough. Both of them were unaware this weird ‘scare the date away’ thing was actually happening. Mitch dated way more than Hideki, but even in the many dates was never a good one. But they always followed each other advice. One day Mitch finally found a guy that seemed right, as usual Hideki disapproved, but this time Mitch wanted to see what would happen, so he offered him to stay at their apartment. Sadly for him it was one of the worst decisions he had ever made.
They had lots of fights, just yelling at each other, mostly because Mitch his boyfriend hated that he was always home late form the restaurant. Mitch was mostly exhausted and the douche always wanted to have sex and if he couldn’t get any he would get in a fight. Mitch, still being the sweet guy, always made up and gave him what he wanted. He felt like he was the one doing things wrong, by working late and being tired, but in normal cases a boyfriend would understand and take care of him, massage him, etc…. Cause that wasn’t all, the boyfriend, Brad was his name, always expected him to make him a meal too, if he didn’t another fight…. But always Mitch was the one giving in and making up.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
Mitch was once more running late, he had the morning shift, since the restaurant also did brunches. He would normally be home around five-ish, but it was already one hour later when he finally arrived home. IT wasn’t because he had to work late, but because the city was one chaos, weird things where happening, Mitch had no idea what exactly was going on though. There he found Brad, this time he was drunk and immediately started fiddling, trying to undress Mitch. But poor Mitch was tired and told him he wanted to shower and just relax a bit. Then something very unexpected happened, Brad slammed his fist into Mitch his face. Mitch fell on the ground, he immediately crawled back up out ran Brad and locked himself in the bathroom.
Brad kept banging on the door and Mitch was scared as hell, so he did what he always did when he was scared or in trouble, he called Hideki. After his guardian angel arrived, he slowly opened the bathroom door after Hideki his voice calmed him. Mitch knew Hideki would kick Brad his ass, but Mitch felt like it wasn’t Brad his fault, it was the alcohol, so he denied Brad did it. But Hideki was smart and he put Brad in his place. Though there wasn’t much time to start a big fight between them, cause outside the chaos got louder. When they tried to leave the house, they were blocked off and where all forced to stay inside, enjoying the weird tension that had been caused by the fight between Hideki and Brad.
When Mitch left the two alone to take a shower, he heard Hideki talking to Brad when he was undressing. He heard how Hideki warned him and he couldn’t help but feel joy, just because he such an amazing friend, no one, not even a boyfriend would ever replace him. As Mitch showered he thought of what Brad did and was slowly getting second thoughts. With a lot of questions and weird feelings he went to sleep, after the shower.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
During the apocalypse many things happened. At first it was Hideki, Brad and himself trying to survive. Hideki was best at this for some reason, and when Mitch was afraid, Brad wasn’t the one he turned to but Hideki was, which once more started various fights. But the relationship between Hideki and Brad was even worse. Even though Mitch believed every word Hideki told him about Brad, he couldn’t just brake up.
But everything changed that one horrible day, Hideki had gone out for a supply run. They had found a new apartment, to stay for a couple weeks, since they left their own. But there wasn’t any food and Hideki offered to search for various supplies. Mitch thanked him for being so sweet, hugged him and then closed the door behind him. When he turned around he was greeted by the fist of Brad. As he kept hitting him, he yelled things about how he loved Hideki more than him and how Hideki wasn’t here to keep him safe now. This time Mitch couldn’t even get up and just yelled it wasn’t true, he begged him to stop and said he loved him, but he didn’t.
When Brad stopped to yell again, Mitch saw his chance, he crawled form the floor and rushed to an nearby room, locking it and hoping Hideki would soon return. He cried the whole time and now knew Brad was a bad person and that he should have listened to Hideki.
When Hideki finally came home, Mitch was afraid, to show himself, part of him once more had forgiven Brad, so he tried to hide himself. But Hideki was so sweet to him and as tears formed he looked up at him, showing his wounds. He begged Hideki not to be angry at Brad, but this time he didn’t listen. Mitch saw them getting into a fight, which ended with Brad his dead. He cried, but instead of running to Brad he ran to Hideki hugging him.
Mitch didn’t want to stay in the apartment, so they grabbed their stuff and started traveling, making their way from Washington to Oregon, trying tout various groups on their way. Mitch liked most people in the groups they met, but Hideki always disagreed, but Mitch didn’t make the same mistake twice and listened.
After being in so many groups and traveling so far, Mitch was exhausted, so when they found another group, Mitch asked him to stay for awhile, just to rest u pa bit. But that would turn out to be a big mistake again. What Mitch and Hideki didn’t know, was that they had made some rivals, by stealing some supplies. When the rivals attacked Mitch didn’t know what was going on and lost Hideki in the chaos. Before he knew what was going on, the rival group took him. In their camp they asked for information, weak spots, but since they just had been there a day there wasn’t anything Mitch could tell them. That seemed to be the wrong answer. Mitch was tortured and they hurt him both physically and mentally.
Mitch knew Hideki would come for him and he did. But a lot of damage was already done when Hideki found him, scars on his back, swollen face, cuts and many more horrible things. Hideki murdered every single one of them and then carried Mitch out of that horrible place.
Before leaving Hideki stole a car and too most of their supplies. In the car they decided to travel to California for a fresh start. On their way there Hideki had been so sweet and nursed Mitch, took care of him. Mitch felt relieved he could once more count on his guardian angel and promised himself to always followed Hideki his decisions from now on.
