Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Anastasia never knew her mother, as she died in childbirth. However, she lived a happy life growing up with her father, Raymond. Anastasia excelled at school, going onto Vanderbilt for undergraduate and then Cornell for law school. She began practicing in Tampa, Florida as an aspiring tax attorney. When she was 12, Anastasia's father adopted a son, Patrick.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-Anastasia, like nearly everyone, was at work. When walkers began to crowd the streets, Anastasia made her way to her car and attempted to contact her family, but to no avail. She retreated home and locked herself inside, as did so many neighbors. This worked for a time, until the hordes became too plenty and she was forced to abandon her home with a small band of survivors.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-Roaming around the surrounding areas of Tampa, Anastasia began to hear rumors that her father, Raymond Ebner, had founded a community in Sarasota known as Carthage. She'd always wanted to make her way to see him again, though she was always unable. The groups she was with never wanted to venture too far away from their small camps. Finally, Anastasia left on her own for Carthage to find her father and this community he had created.
Anastasia was appalled by what she found. Raymond Ebner, her father, was dead, replaced by a man with the same physical appearance, who called himself Adolphus. His son, Patrick, was dead, and it seemed Anastasia was dead to him, too. Adolphus treated Anastasia coldly, recognizing her as his daughter, but not treating her like it at all. Furthermore, she witnessed how her father ran the community, as a military dictator, brutally executing wrongdoers and letting people go hungry if they did not meet expectations. Anastasia left Carthage within two weeks of being there, disgusted by what her father did and had become.
Upon her return to Tampa, Anastasia became sensitive about discussions about her father. She continued to defend him, in spite of what she saw. She claimed it wasn't truly who he was, that the world had changed him. When she began to hear that he burnt the whole settlement down in a fit of insanity, she believed the rumors, but didn't want to. She wanted to see the damage for herself.
She now finds herself in the ruins of Carthage, looking for closure as to whatever happened to her once loving father.
