Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse: Growing up in Northern California, Anne knew two things, (1) that she was good at working on computers and computer gear of all kinds, and (2) that she couldn't stay in Redding; she had to get out and see the world. Since her parents - for whatever reason you can think of - wouldn't pay for her college studies, she decided to use Uncle Sam's money, attending UC-Davis and serving in the college's Amry ROTC program. Following college, McKenna - despite her computer engineering degree and requests to serve in the Army's Information & Cyber Warfare Command - was assigned to the Infantry Branch, where to most everyone's surprise given her short stature, she thrived under the pressures and stresses of leading others on the battlefield.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?: Assigned to one of West Point's two permanent garrison companies (the other two companies were on crowd control and riot duty in the NY state capital of Albany), McKenna had been the security commander on Outbreak Day when things went south; for several weeks following, her and the soldiers under her command (both company commanders having perished after being bitten by walkers early on) fought to keep West Point from being overrun; just as soon as they would plug one breach, they'd be called to plug another breach; whether that breach was caused by walkers, criminals or overzealous civilians trying to get in, it didn't matter.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse: -As the months and years went by, McKenna steadily grew into her position as West Point's garrison commander, second only to B.Gen. McArthur in rank...pitching in at every position, working just about every conceivable job and task around. Like McArthur, McKenna wants to try and restore America, even if its' just a small part of its' former self....on a personal level, though, she wants to find out what happened to her girlfriend, Brooke, who was on riot & crowd control duty down in the Big Apple on Outbreak Day; for three years, she's wondered what happened to her and if she has to go through hell to find out...well, that's what she'll do then.
