Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Jeremiah was born to a lower class family. His dad died when he was eight, killed in a bar fight. His mother dated a few men, here and there. By the age of eighteen Jeremiah lost his mom as well. She killed herself, while he was away. He was willed his parents house, and all there belongings, being the only known family alive.
Having to find work he took up work as a farm hand at a local ranch a few miles away from town. Many young men did, as well as immigrants coming to the country. Jeremiah was a hard worker, and enjoyed what he did. Working for this family he barely knew, and making ends meat was how he lived, days in and days out.
Besides having a brief affair with the owner of the ranch, nothing really stood out. He was intimate with her when her husband, who he rode with, were away. It was fun while it lasted, but she broke it off. Growing serious with her husband more. Couldn't play anymore.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Jeremiah was out on a cattle run. He and a few ranch hands had gathered up some of the hesrd and were transporting for mass move to another crop. It didn't take long before they had stopped and camped out for the night. They fed and watered the cattle. They got the cattle to the pastor the next morning and moved on back to the ranch.
It was upon return that Jeremiah found out about the virus, and report coming into the city. Riots, mfightign were occurring the police and military doing all they could to prevent it.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- A week in Alberquerque fell. It was bombed, destroying most of the city, turning the city and houses to rubble. The other bigger cities came next. This was the military scape goat. It wasn't long before they took down most of New Mexico. The goverment then left after that.
With no control it was chaos for a bit. A few people lived in the desert, or on the ranches that still stood. Many of the small towns were also still standing. Jeremiah had kept himself in the desert for the first while, using what he knew to survive. He would make trips into town, and gather supplies. A group of survivors kept them together.
Order had to be restored. A local ranch owner decided to set up , just off the main river. A town was set up, small a first, a few buildings, hand made. Construction and labour was high, as was security. An old police officer became the sheriff, recruiting deputies. They did their best to remain order. Majority of the people lived on ranches, or on their own. The town had been small, a bank, general store, sheriffs office, and bar.
After three years, it was like the old west. People flooding in all over. The town flourished with trade and commerce. Gone was the way of the car, and the way of the horse remained. The dead were no longer a problem, everyone fighters, it was the living, bandits, and thieves they feared.
Jeremiah knew of the town, helped put up the walls of the bank. This was working class people, old skills, old style.
