The night grew still as the headlights began to shine on a single hunting cabin surrounded by trees. The one that Mason and Wyatt had made assumptions about. Secluded and well structured. The RV and the Ambulance parked in front as Mason turned the key and shut off the engine. He then looked back at Rob and Emyr before opening up the door, stepping out of the vehicle.
It was quiet. No signs of walkers. The cabin wasn't the biggest, possibly only two rooms, but it was big enough. It would keep them safe. Not the Mason cared about the safety of this group. But he cared about the trust. And bringing them to safety at the moment was the only way to gain their trust. He knew it would be hard to fit in as a group member with Mr. Sherlock Holmes (Wyatt) trying to sniff out his true intentions. But he used to be a lawyer. Making the courts believe in the innocence of his clients was his job. And it proved to be a valuable skill in the apocalypse.
Lara sat in the ambulance for a moment. She stared at the cabin in the headlights. She watched Mason climb out of the RV. They needed to check and clear this place, quickly. She wanted to take care of Wyatt's wound.
She looked at Wyatt and Lucy," stay here, I'm gonna get out and help Mason clear this place. You see signs of anything going wrong, bug out." She grabbed her spear and crawled out of the ambulance. Slowly, scanning the area, she approached Madon," looks quiet, that might be good." She glanced at the RV," we need to get Robert inside, and Wyatt."
Lara headed towards the front door of the cabin," let's do this." She waited til Madon stood near her and she pushed the door open, slowly. Listening for sounds.

Wyatt drove close to the RV, following it until they reached their destination. He turned off the engine en let out a soft sigh of relief. “Finally some rest.” He spoke calm.
He looked at Tala as she told Lucy and himself to stay while they cleared the place. Right before she got out of the car he gently grabbed her arm. “Be careful.” He spoke looking in her eyes. Then Wyatt watched her walk closer to Mason.
He felt bad for letting her go in with just Mason, but the shape he was in, he would do more harm then good while clearing the place. He softly turned around in his seat, trying not to hurt himself. He wanted to check on the little girl. “Everything ok back there?” he asked with a smile.
Lucy has been entertaining herself in the back by looking out the tiny window, trying to count the trees as the passed. She had gotten to almost two hundred before the vehicle stopped. She turned around. The woman, her name was Lara, got out of the ambulance to check around and make sure everything was safe. Hopefully they wouldn't get surprised by any monsters.
She started to doze off until Wyatt spoke to her. The little girl snapped to attention. He had asked if everything was alright. Lucy gave a reassuring smile as well as a nod. "Mhmm!" She answered. Her attention switch to his injured shoulder. "Is it okay?" She asked, pointing to the wound. It generally concerned her. People easily died of infection out here, and she didn't want her new friend to become one of the dead.

Wyatt smiled as the girl nodded, he was glad she felt ok being with them. But he was also relieved they were the ones that found her, there were so many crappy people in the apocalypse, the idea of the sweet kid being hurt by some wacko, made him afraid, but again also relieved, since she was in his protection now.
He heard how she asked if his wound was ok. Wyatt had to admit it hurt like hell sometimes, but he didn’t want to scare the girl at all. “Yeah, it will be alright, no worries little one.” He said with a smile followed by a wink.
As he saw the little girl he had to think back of the two girls that were already in their group, before the split up took place. He was still pretty determined to find them again and he also wouldn’t let history repeat itself.
He let go of his thoughts and focused back on the girl. “So Lucy, it is probably all a bit weird, being with new people and all that, but I just want to make sure, that if you have a problem or if you are afraid or if you just want to talk, you can always come to me.” He said with a smile.
(Since we are split up, I thought it was ok to reply to Lucy )
Mason nodded to her as he held his gun firm at his waist, slowly entering into the cabin behind her. It was a small cabin. So the noise, opening the door would of been heard throughout the house. So if no walker came at them already, they were alone, and safe. Just to make sure, Mason checked in the open kitchen in the bathroom on one side of the cabin, leaving the bedroom to Lara. The bathroom mirror was busted and the amount of mold on the ceiling was sickening, but other than that, the place seemed great and secure.
He walked back outside waving at the others to come. Glancing at Lara from the front door he could imagine a world with her by his side, every single day. The anticipation of her falling for him was eating him alive, but he knew it would take time. He wanted Lara, and wouldn't risk giving her up. But chances to speed things up could be classified as risks, if Mason wasn't so hard headed. He proceeded to walk up to her and from behind lightly turn her around with a hand on her shoulder. "It's been a rough day, you should probably get some rest, I'll stay up for the night, keep guard on the top of the RV."
Lara stood in the door way of the cabins one lonely bedroom. It was a pig sty, it had two bunks, one on each wall and the center of the room was a mass of dirty clothes, shoes, and God knew what else. Beggars couldn't be choosers, she reminded herself. She'd have to at least clean this up some if anyone planned to sleep in here.
A hand slipped over her shoulder, and turned her. It made her jump and stiffen, until he spoke and she saw his face. Mason looked at her, he was talking about taking watch ." That's fine, I was just thinking about what a mess this is, I need to clean up before we bring Robert in here. " she ran a hand through her hair. This day had been too much. Everything that had happened, had been surreal. He was standing there, seeming to be there, just for her." Alright, tell me, why didn't you just ditch us?" She scanned his face, and Carter's words hit her as she thought about their newest charge. Lucy. Dakota and Clem were still alive! He'd seen them, well, his men had seen them. " Mason.." Lara stepped closer to him, a single step, not much of a gap between them anyway, and her hands slid around him," just hold me, tell me this is almost over and everything is gonna be alright, please." Her head rested on his shoulder, arms around his waist, she held onto him for just a moment, letting her have that brief second of being comforted. Lara rarely showed her weak side, and this was one of those moments.
She pulled back and shook her head. It was almost like she was shaking off the girl side of herself. She glanced at the door, I need to check on the old man," she slipped away from Mason, bit her fingers lingered on his hand," I can take watch with you."
She headed for the RV, and passed the ambulance," it's clear, messy though." She opened the RV door and told Emyr to help them inside and handed him a trash bag from under the sink," that bedroom is trashed, just get started putting it in here, and I will be right there to help after I check on Robert." The old man had been sitting with his leg up. His head leaned against the window. It looked like he was sleeping. Lara moved closer to him and reached out to shake his shoulder," alright, old man, let's get you inside." His head rolled from the window, down to his chest. He was cold to her touch. " what the hell?" Lara was about to try to take his pulse when his head moved and his eyes opened. He looked at her with those glazed over eyes. Robert died! He was dead! He was....not dead! Lara screamed and grabbed a screw driver out stabbed him through the eye! She sank down to the floor as he dropped back against the wall of the RV.
