(OOC: This thread begins about ninety minutes or so after the events in Nassau County Blues....)
As the four Tundras' rolled through the main gate and came to a stop outside the Island's Medical Center, Tegan numbly sat in the passenger seat, going over every single event that took place outside, reliving every moment....including seeing Zeb's death, right in front of her eyes. She'd seen her share of death, just as everyone on the Island had, but to see it happen right in front of her...how do I tell Emmett what happened to her friend? she kept asking herself, over and over to herself.
Eventually, one of her fellow Scout/Scavengers rapped his knuckles on the window, bringing her back to reality; looking over, she saw that it was Daniel, the Island's Combat Overseer himself, knocking on the window. "You alright, Tegan?" he asked through the glass.
Nodding yes, Tegan opened the door and slowly climbed out of the truck, still pretty numb but still with her wits about her. ""Yeah, I'm alright, Daniel," she replied, "I'm just...I'm just shook up, that's all."
"Well, go get your people taken care of, Tegan," Daniel said. "Get them through Medical, make sure they're alright and then we need to debrief--" Before he could continue, she angrily stared at him. Debrief, now?!? she thought; it was all she wanted to do to tell him to go copulate with his mother in not-so-many nice words...instead, she shook her head in the negative. "I'm going to check on the wounded first, get checked out myself, then..." She didn't need to tell Daniel what she had in mind; though the Island's Rules prohibited the presence of alcohol on the grounds, it was an open secret that the Scout/Scavengers possessed an abundant supply of liquor, stashed oh-so-conveniently in the Scout/Scavenger quarters and over in Maintenance as well.
"Well," Daniel sighed, "after you get checked out, see me in Intake & Receiving and we'll debrief. Then, if you and any others want to get shit-faced drunk, have at it; just be sober enough to get back out there the next couple of days, Tegan, and find the motherfucker that killed him," pointing towards the corpse of what was Zeb, who was being carried out of the truck by medics. Though he was dead, Zeb was a member of the Island and would be given the due of one who'd given his life in the Island's service. Walking away, cowboy hat on his head, he left Tegan to her thoughts. For the longest time, she stared numbly as the medics carried Zeb's body away, vowing to get whoever it was that killed him...if it is the last thing on this Earth that I ever do, she added as she turned and began walking over towards Medical.
