Cara had been watching the camp for a couple hours now and she was sure that she could make a quick line to their supplies. She had also spotted her mark. A younger man was standing guard duty. He seemed to be swigging from a canteen throughout his watch and if the little girl was mistaken he had been drinking. Nikolai would be so proud of her if she came back with a lot of supplies, and who would suspect a little girl. It was a ruse she had used a hundred times to get supplies as well as to find victims. It was amazing to her the lengths that people would go to protecting a 10 year old.
She waited until the guard was alone and snuck up close enough so that she could speak and only be heard by him.
"Mister, please help. I'm so hungry, and it's cold out here. I really need some help. Could you let me up there. I saw a boogeyman just a little while ago. I snuck by but I think it smelled me."
Just like so many before him the guard did exactly what she wanted him to do and let her up. He even reached into his pocket and pulled out a candy bar to give to her. When he kneeled down to give it to her it was all to easy to slit his throat with the knife she kept tucked into the sash of her dress. She really should have just left him to bleed out but the blood that started squirting from his neck forced her to stop. She loved the pretty red blood and when it started flowing like that she just had to play. She sat on the man's chest and started sawing back and forth on his neck, slowly cutting deeper and deeper. She hummed the theme song to my little pony as she completed her gruesome work.
Her work with the guard finally done she set tye head aside and started rummaging through the guards Things. His main weapon was too heavy for the little girl to carry but his sidearm was almost perfect. She also grabbed the booze. Nikolai loved his alcohol and she was sure he would be especially happy when she brought this back. She would kill him someday... maybe. For now though they made quite the team. He was a huge asset to the girl. She had survived on her own for quite a while but it had been harder before Nikolai had found her. She could only carry so much and Nikolai came in quite handy when her charm failed to fool someone.
The head started trying to bite. Finally, she thought to herself and picked up the head. If anyone found they would not be taken in by her charm with the head but she had such a fondness for pets.
"Don't worry sammy. I'll feed you. There's got to be someone around here sleeping. I know your hungry, just don't you dare try to bite me or you'll be in big trouble."
Her little conversation with the boogeyman head done she headed off towards the kitchen area where they would no doubt have some food. She reached it with little effort and hadn't been seen. She started grabbing canned goods that she could bring back to her camp. As she was zipping up her backpack someone came into the kitchen and saw her. Damnit!
"Have you seen my mommy?" She asked in her best sweet little girl voice.
For a second it seemed like he was going to buy it, until he saw the boogeyman head sitting on the table besides her. The thought passed through his eyes and he started lifting his gun. Before it was up however she grabbed the head and threw it at him yelling "Catch."
She ran back towards the edge of the camp with her backpack on one shoulder. She heard shots behind her and was certain her new pet had been taken care of.
"I'm sorry Sammy. I'll Find you again little brother."
First, he heard the gunshot. Goddamn drunkards, alerting every walker within three miles. Adolphus looked over to Carter. "I'll handle this. You've been gone a long time. A lot of these men lack discipline...to a large degree." Adolphus thrust open the door that led to the courtyard, and was shocked by what he saw: one of his men--looked like Daniels--had been beheaded. And two other men--Lamb and Gray--had their guns raised towards the gate. "What in the hell is going on here!?" Adolphus yelled, raising his pistol. But before either of the men could respond, he saw the cause of this disturbance: a little girl, sprinting towards the gates.
Without a second thought, he sprinted towards the child, yelling, "hold your fire!" as he ran. Standing at 6'4'", it didn't take Adolphus long to catch up to the girl. As he did, he slowed his pace back to a slow walk. "Turn around now, girl...slowly." The girl was armed, probably with Daniels' pistol. Adolphus had his own sidearm raised, just in case.

Cara stopped in her tracks. The man's voice was too close and it had a steel to it that told Cara in no uncertain terms that failing to listen to him would get her killed without a second thought. She turned around slowly and attempted to look as innocent as she could given the situation. Maybe if she seemed to have simply snapped briefly the man would be taken in and she could find a way to escape.
"I'm sorry, I was just so hungry."
She definitely looked like she didn't eat as often as she should, mainly because she was always moving, but also because in truth she didn't. She ate more then most who lived outside of protective walls, but there was only so much even her charm could get her.
Adolphus lowered his gun a bit in disbelief--he'd seen quite a bit since the outbreak. Strange, disturbing things. This was one of the most disturbing. The child's clothes were covered in blood...she'd killed Daniels. She was hungry? With everything going on, Adolphus couldn't deal with a psychotic child. She probably had a group with her--this was probably a trap of some sort.
But why would she run away? No, if it was a trap, she wouldn't be so quick to run away. Perhaps it truly was desperation that drove her here. And maybe there was a use for her. Feed her, clean her up...and she could complete Holly and Lachland's family.
Adolphus slowly approached the girl and knelt down. He kept a few feet between them, in case she was feeling violent. "Little girl. I have food for you. And I'll share it with you, if you can do something for me."

Carter stood there was many others left. That was when a gunshot could be heard not too far away. Dolph immediately told Carter he would handle it and went into the courtyard. Carter didn't really want to stay in there, bored out of his mind so he followed Dolph out into the courtyard. As he walked out the door, he saw one of Dolph's men dead on the ground, blood everywhere, he had been beheaded. Carter wasn't too calm with the sight of it, but only gave a disgusted face.
Carter stared at the body, wandering what the cause of it was. Dolph had took his attention away from the body by shouting, something about ceasing fire. Carter ran after the man as fast as he could. When he got to him, he noticed he was stood by someone, a little girl. Certainly a rare sight these days. Carter also saw the girl was covered in blood, most likely the killer of the man. "What the fuck is that?" he said in disbelief that the girl had killed the man. Dolph had offered it food for a favour, this should be good.
Cara didn't really want to stay and she had been hoping that they would put her somewhere that she could then sneak out of but it seemed that this man had other plans. Hopefully they would be fun because in her current situation she could not see a way to avoid doing whatever this man wanted her to do.
"Ok, but it better be fun. I get so bored without my pets. Ooh ooh ooh, can Nikolai come too. He's not here right now but he's kind of hungry too."
She reached into her bag and pulled out the flask that the guard had been carrying and handed it to Dolph.
"I took it from the guard before I made him a pet. He was drinking it and it made it easier for me to turn him into a pet. I took it for Nikolai cause he likes it allot. Do you have any other kids around here? Maybe I could play with them."
She was having a hard time keeping one face on at the moment. She kept switching between her cold, true self, and the sweet innocent little girl that she used to be and that she played when she wanted to make other people do things for her. This was not going well at all for the little girl. They would never let her do what she wanted if she couldn't get her faces right, but these people seemed different, darker. After all she had been shot at by the guard and that had never happened to her before. Grown ups were always unable to hurt her. She knew that and took advantage of it quite often.
"Why'd he shoot at me? I'm just a little girl. Doesn't he know your not supposed to shoot at little girls?"
Adolphus became enraged when the girl handed him the flask. He'd been drinking. Adolphus gave specific orders to not drink while on duty--or, preferably, not at all. The girl had taken advantage of the situation, and Adolphus felt something like admiration for that. Daniels had been a fool, and this girl seemed worth ten of him for what she'd been able to do. "I can assure you they will not shoot at you again."
Adolphus planned on giving the girl to Lachland and Holly, in hopes of forming a perfect family to be taken in by Bear Lake. This girl, if she could be "tamed" would be a valuable asset.
After considering what the girl said, Adolphus looked to the girl and asked, "Who's Nikolai? Is he another friend?"

Cara smiled when the man said that no one was going to shoot at her again. She was starting to feel much more comfortable in the situation and it became much easier to sort out her faces. She started twirling her matted hair around her finger.
"Thank you mister," She said, her voice the picture of innocence.
She was starting to like it here. This man seemed interested in her for what she was and it made the little girl feel very special, almost like Nikolai did.
She heard his question about Nikolai and normally she would have been much more closed off about answering that question, after all Nikolai was her safety net. She could handle her pets and the more honest people but others like them took a different touch. A touch that Nikolai was much better at.
"Nikolai is my best friend. He helps me out when people like us come around. They don't like little girls... or they like them too much. Nikolai makes sure they don't hurt me."
She sat down in the dirt, she was a little winded after running for her life.
"Why don't you have more pets around here? They're so much fun, especially if your smart like me and know how to keep them from biting. You wanna know how? I can teach you!"

Adolphus grinned. This little girl was smart, and she knew how to control walkers. This was useful indeed. "We'll talk about Nikolai in a bit, I promise. For now, I want to introduce me to my friends--Lachland and Holly. Tell me, do you like acting?"
As Adolphus asked the question, he straightened himself upward and gestured for the girl to come towards him. He then turned and yelled to the guards. "Clean Daniels up--damn drunk couldn't defend himself from a little girl! Albeit, a smart little girl." He grinned--this was perfect.
With Gabe and BB going to scavenge for supplies, Holly, Lachland, and this little girl infiltrating Bear Lake, Adolphus could continue to probe Carter and George about anything they knew regarding Bear Lake and the group from Miami...things were going well

"You mean like make believe?" The girl asked. She didn't know about this Lachland guy but Holly was a pretty name. Maybe she would be pretty. Cara could teach her all about pets.
Speaking of pets. She was miffed that this man hadn't asked her about them. Didn't he want to know the secrets? She remembered the first time she had figured out that she was special. Or at least that's how her mind processed it. She knew it had to do with the skin she wore but it made her feel much more important to think that she was special.
"I'll go meet your friends. Is Holly pretty? Oh, and do you want to know why the pets don't bite me?"
She pulled the sleeve of her dress up a little to show him the skin.
"See I'm smart, I always smell like them. And you can lead them where you want them, just need someone who doesn't smell right."
It wasn't long until Adolphus was pointing out Holly and Lachland. She decided now was a good time to show him how good she was at make believe. She ran up to Holly and hugged her leg.
"Your friend A... Adolph... Dolph, told me that he wanted me to meet you. He asked if I liked acting. I didn't tell him but of course I like make believe. All little girls like make believe."
She let go of holly and started twirling her hair. Clean her up and she would be the perfect sweet angel.
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
