Daisy had lost it all so fast. Her mother, her mothers boyfriend, the army commander. They were her protectors, and she had no plan without them. At twenty one she could a rely decide what sweater to wear, let alone where to go or what to do. She knew she had to find people, good people, not like those two raiders. They took everything. Before her step-father put them.
she was good a killing biters, but when it came to people she was scared shitless. She hadn't killed anyone, didn't think she could. She didn't even like holding guns, yet knew she had to. Armed with just s knife in her belt and gun in her back pocket she walked down the road.
It was quiet, there had been gunshots earlier, off to the centre district. She was keeping to the outskirts, avoiding trouble. Dressed in a simple over shirt and jeans she trucked along, looking for a sign of anything.
her face was stained with blood, shirt and pants dirty with grime and dust. She looked like hell, hair a mess, sleep deprived, craving a smoke.

The cop that knew Remy was tough to shake. She didn't trust him considering him and his buddy had come to rob her. Simon had been gunning for her and her supplies since the start and after she put a bullet in him, he decided on revenge. She thought she scared him off, but no, the asshole had to come back with backup. Thankfully, Luca shot and killed him, but that wasn't the end. He begged to go with her, but he was dangerous. She wasn't even sure if it was an act he was putting on to get to her cousin. Maybe he was looking for revenge just like Simon was with her. She couldn't take that chance, but she did feel a bit sorry for him.
She left him a set of keys for a car that was parked at the storage unit. She had no idea if it worked or not but it was now up to him what he wanted to do. She didn't know how deep the relationship with Remy was and she didn't care. She wanted to get home and fight off the bikers that had taken her home away from her.
She could feel it in the air. The swamp was thicker and the smell was different, fresher. The city always smelled like bum piss to her. But outside, across the bridges, it smelled like home. The truck, filled with supplies she packed up from the storage unit ran slow and steady. She wanted to get home quickly but she didn't want to take any chances. Without a radio she just sang to herself as she kept the handgun close to her side, chugging down the road.
When she saw the lone, scrawny figure on the side of the road, she smirked. "Target practice time, girl." She lifted her gun thinking Daisy to be a walker that just needed to be put down.

She hadn't been back this way since she was fourteen, it felt weird crossing the bridge to her home. She had no reason to go back, once her father died it was just move leave with her mother. She spent all of highschool in the city, and a few years after. It had become her home, the festivals, parties. Drinking and having fun. But when shit hit the fan ended, and she needed to go home. Find her brothers, get to them.
The sound of a truck filled the road. She looked as it came closer, slowing down, a gun, gun aimed at her. She froze, crap, crap. She ducked down, swamp on either side. She wasn't about to jump into there. She grew up here, she knew about gators in the swamps. Instead she just raised her hands, waving thems as if calling help.
"Don't shoot. Friendly,"' she yelled, a tinge of fear in her voice. She waited for the shot. The shot that was going to end her. Her body flinched, turned away so her shoulder faced the truck window. "Don't shoot. Don't shoot." She repeated quieter to herself.

Ellie slowed the big truck down as she got closer to the walker. The window was rolled down and she wanted to take a rolling head shot to see how good her aim really was. As she got closer though, she noticed the girl freeze and quickly turn with her hands up. She didn't recognize her and figured she was just another lost soul looking for a place to hunker down.
Still, she kept the gun raised. What if she wanted to look alone but had friends waiting to ambush.
"I ain't shootin if you ain't bringing me trouble." She stopped the truck and looked at the girl. Those eyes, that face..she looked familiar but she couldn't figure out why. All Ellie could do was stare at the girl for a long time, looking at the doe eyes that seemed to plead for a ride.
"Where you headed? You alone? You got friends here?" She had been away for quite some time herself so she really wasn't sure if her brothers were still here. She felt bad running from the house, but she had to or she would have become some little toy for those bikers. The last thing she remembered was watching the bait shop burn.
She kept the gun in her hand even though it was lowered. She just hoped the girl didn't realize the amount of supplies that were in the back of the truck. Not that it would last long anyways, but it would be enough to keep her and her brothers fed until they could get on their feet. Given Ernie didn't horde the stash she was bringing back.

"Thank god," Daisy said taking a big breath as Ellie said she wasn't going to shoot her. "I'm not looking for trouble, not at all. That's the last thing I want. Is trouble okay. I've enough if that recently. To much." She felt he knife resting heavily on her belt, the gold club between her bag and the back. "I just want to keep going."
She couldn't help feel she knew the woman. Almost looked like one of Owen's friends. The youngest girl, closer to her age, maybe five or six. Years older. So much had changed since she left to go to school. The people, the places, the faces.
"I'm headed that way," she pointed straight ahead, "to a small town out in the sticks. It's where I was born, I have family there." She looked around. "I'm alone except for you. Been that way for a while, can't really trust anyone, not anymore. Don't know them. But family, there was a saying before all this. Home is where family is. My dad used to say it, all the parents did. So i guess I want to go home, find family, my family. I have two brothers, one was a local cop there. Sheriff or whatever they are called."
She blinked a few times and approached the truck. "Can I ask you something. Is your name Ellen, Ellizabeth, Ellie, something like that. You look like someone I knew long ago, same teeth. The town I'm headed to, it's two hours out. Couldn't possibly give a girl a ride could you. You seem to be headed that way."
Post by Ellie St. Mordeaux on Mar 26, 2016 5:44:53 GMT -5
"Small town, out in the sticks. Not generic, nope. Not in the least." Her voice was familiar but she couldn't place why. Of course, out here, everyone was familiar. Small population produced small town thinking and everyone seemed to have gossip on everyone else. God knows, Ernie's troubles were the talk of her neighborhood.
When she spoke of what her father used to say, she furrowed her brow a bit. She heard that. The adults used to tell them that when they were kids, although she wasn't really sure why. As she grew older, she had a feeling it was a way to keep the kids close, even as they grew up. It was a way to keep them locked in. It's probably why she lived at home and worked at the bait shop with her dad. Maybe there was more familiarity in this girl then she imagined.
Yes, she knew this girl. She was certain of that. "Ellie. St. Mordeaux. You know me? Because I probably know you. What's your name?"
It hit her. She was Owen's little sister, but what was this girls name? Rose? Lily? Something with a flower. She wanted to be safe and she wanted to get moving before someone or something saw her.
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Mar 26, 2016 7:36:30 GMT -5
"Poulence. Poulence, Louisiana," Daisy said keeping her arms by her sides. " that's the town I was talking about. My whole family is from there, mom used to a waitress. At Rhaul's." She rubbed her arms nervously. "I'm telling the truth. It's where I was born and raised." She poked at the truck, trying to see if anyone else was inside besides the woman.
"Ellie, that's right. Arden's littles sister. I'm Daisy, Daisy Maville-Leckard. My mom was the waitress at the diner as I said, my father ran the meat store. My brother was a cop, you may know him." She smiled as Ellie told her to get in. She moved around to the passenger door and pullemd it open. Closing it shut as she slid in she pulled her pack to her lap, cradling it.
"Thank you," she said calmly, "we're you out on a run, is that what all these supplies are for? Who's still alive?" She blushed. "Sorry asking to many questions. Ma always said I was to curious for my own good." He looked out the window. It would be weird coming back to a place she hadn't visited since she was fourteen. Eight years. Almost half her life time spent away.
She remained quiet, looking at the radio to see if it would work. "So Ellie was it. You used to hang out with my other brother Owen right, his gang. I remember Arden, he still super jacked like when I left? Probably even bigger now." She looked down. "Ernie too, he was the one I read in the papers right? The one with the rape case, found guilty when his DNA surfaced."

As Daisy spoke of where she was going, it rang a bell in her mind. What kind of coincidences were in this world to bring these two women together like this?
"Why you're just in luck. That's where I'm going too." The girl shut the door, but before they took off, she pointed the gun at Daisy one more time just so she knew who was in charge. She didn't say anything but she gave her a look that said 'you're dead if this is a trick.' When Daisy just looked at her like she was completely insane, she realized, at that moment, she just may have lost her mind being alone for so long like that. After Simon, no one should be trusted.
"Well, alright then. Let's go." She put the gun down between her legs and hit the gas, headed down the same route her brother and cousin had just gone. The broken down car was still there on the side of the road, one she had no idea had just been used a few weeks back and she kept driving. "Keep your eyes open if you see anything."
When Daisy said her name, she smiled wide. "Oh right! I remember you. I remember your brother locking my brother Ernie up. It was all the talk. I still think Ernie was innocent, but whatever. It don't matter now, right?"
She kept her eyes on the road and steady ahead.
"Well, you're in luck 'cuz I know where your brother is. But there's good news and bad news. The good news is Owen is still alive. The bad news is he's with a group of assholes that took over my house and run off me and Arden. Now, it's been a few months and I'm hoping the group has moved on, but I don't know."
She remembered Owen. They all did. He was a handsome bastard. Prettiest blue eyes this side of the Mississippi. She remembered a time fantasizing about him. She would speak to Amarie about him and she could not, for the life of her, understand why Amarie would say he wasn't her type. Then again, everyone knew Amarie had a crush on Arden...everyone except Arden that is.
"I got this truck in the city. Came across some guy who thought he was gonna get between my legs to share it. Honestly, a few guys thought that and I'm not sure why. In the end, I won. So I'm gonna find my brother, the ones you remember and we're gonna get our house back. You got any weapons? Any friends of yours still around here?"
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Mar 27, 2016 22:28:10 GMT -5
"Really? That is a coincidence. Guess the world is only so big, the bayou even smaller," Daisy said calmly. She climbed in and looked at the gun. Fear washed over her. She was shaking. It was all a trap, this girl was going to kill her. Weren't they supposed to be close, the bayou. Everyone was practically family, yet she was going to shoot her. This was it, it's over.
"Don't shoot me. I said I don't want no trouble." She sat frozen, the air was calm. If she wasn't going to get shit now, then she probably never would. When the gun was lowered she nodded. "Okay, let's go." She looked at the broken down car, walkers laying around it, inthe ditches. "I'll let you know if I see anything." She paused, "some one had killed those walkers back there. Not that long ago."
She looked away. "His DNA was found in her, how could he be innocent," Daisy asked. The whole family denied it happened. But deep down she thought they knew the truth. Ernie was a sick fuck. "Guess it don't matter. Last i heard he was still locked up." Only he had been released months prior to the outbreak. Five years in prison, a huge list of rules when he got out, none he needed to follow anymore.
"You know where Owen is," she sat straighter up. "What about Jay, did you see him?" She always liked Jay more, he didn't have shady friends, and he didn't make fun of her like Owen did. But if Owen was still alive, that was good. "Maybe we can convince him. He was alwyas easily influence. Think that why your brothers could get him to do anything. I can't believe Owen ran you outmofmyourmown home. Why didn't he join you?"
Ellie explained the truck and Daisy nodded. "Okay, was it filled with supplies, or did you find them too?" She was wanting to know if elliemstole them. She hoped she wasn't a thief, stealing from good people. "I can across a few too. They got handsy with me and my mom. My stepdad, killed them. That was near the stat, the riots. That sounds like a plan. If Owen is there I want to help."
She looked at her pack. "I got my knife, and my golf club." The question about friends saddened her, "most fled, or are dead. Anyone from the city I knew is dead. I'm alone. If anything I maybe someone I grew up with in the bayou. Most were losers."

Ellie drove slowly past the broken down car and walkers that shuffled around it. "I didn't see Jay.Me and Arden had to run though. I saw Owen in the woods near the house but that's about it. I'm pretty sure Arden didn't see him. He would have grabbed Owen." She shrugged as she kept her eyes on the road. "I just worry they took Owen hostage or something. If they saw him...I don't know.
She shook her head remembering what she could of her older brother's best friend. There was a bit of worry in her voice as she said that. There were many gatherings at her house when they were kids and even as they grew up. She just hoped none of their old friends and family got caught up in it all.
"These supplies? I found them in a storage unit near the French Quarter. I just ran until I couldn't run no more. I was looking for Remy and some friends at the college. I ran into some guy who took me in and made a lot of promises...failed to tell me about strings attached." She didn't want to tell Daisy any more about it as really, she didn't want to think about it much. What was done was done.
"I inherited what he left behind. I've had to fight for it too." She looked in the rear view mirror to see if Remy's friend took her up on that car and decided to follow, but so far, the road was clear.
"Knowing Arden, he probably didn't go far. I'm sure he didn't head to the city. He's probably near the house trying to figure out how to get it back if he hasn't already. All this...made him different. Ernie, I didn't see him either. Hell, this world is giving him a clean slate, you know? If he's still alive that is."
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Mar 28, 2016 11:04:52 GMT -5
She had seen Owen, with bikers. Not just any bikers, the ones who took Ellie and Arden's home from them. She CloudKit believe it, her brother, had turned. He better dam well have been a prisoner, held at gunpoint. That wasn't like him. Jay was the weasel, Owen was loyal to a fault. But he always did fall in with the bad crowd.
"Thats not like Owen. He wouldn't betray his friends. It all he talked about, your family, Amandie. Maybe it changed when he got older, I don't know. Either way it changed. That's not him. The world changed a lot of people, what my step father was able to do. I didn't think he had it in him." She looked away. "I like to think I've changed too, but I don't know."
Ellie explained the truck and Daisy nodded along. "Did you find them? Remy, or your friends I mean." Daisy leaned agaisnt the door, resting. "What strings attached? We're the supplies his? What happened to him?" She paused. "Sorry, questions again."
Daisy pulled her legs up. "Well at least you have it. We need it to survive. Supplies like that, it's what keeps us going." She smiled.
Hearing about Arden she perked up. "You think he already reclaimed it? By himself? What he just rolled up, shooting, muscles exposed, and killed them all. Maybe he found Ernie and they reclaimed it together. One can only hope right?"
Post by Ellie St. Mordeaux on Mar 29, 2016 4:52:20 GMT -5
Ellie shrugged as Daisy spoke about her brother. "I don't know Daisy. I mean, he was always cool with me. I didn't see Owen do anything bad, but you're right. People change. If he has to do bad things to survive, then I can see him doing that."
She kept driving but slowed down when she saw a larger group of walkers shuffling along the side of the road. She knew she shouldn't waste ammo, but she wanted a bit of target practice.
"You ask a lot of questions Daisy. No, I didn't find Remy or any one else. I was alone, until I found the supplies. No, he ain't alive because he tried to drug me and take my clothes off. Then someone else came along with a flashy smile and a nice chest saying he would help protect me because he was a cop. Then I found out he was the same way, only he was going to screw me, kill me and take all the supplies. He's dead too."
She slowed down but not enough to put them in danger and fired off a shot to one walker. She missed and cursed before rolling and taking another shot.
"Yes, I know. I need the practice though. I got more ammo."
She saw the clearing ahead and knew they were getting close. She wasn't sure what they would find and she knew she would have to park the truck, hide it and try to get a little closer.
"I don't know Daisy. I ain't seen Arden and I really hope he came back with some friends to reclaim the house. I just hope my hopes aren't too high too. For all I know, he could be dead and hanging as a message to the rest of us."
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Mar 29, 2016 11:14:42 GMT -5
"He was closer with you then he ever was with me. You knew Owen, spent every moment with him, Arden, and the other girl. I just hope he is okay. You would know if he did something stupid or not, if her would be like that, a biker. People change, we all did. I don't want to think that he would have to do bad things to survive. But you're right, he probably did." She paused. "Oh, Owen, what have you gotten yourself in to."
They slowed down near a larger group and Daisy gripped the door. She didn't like being this close to them. Why didn't they just keep driving. She looked away, "guess I'm curious. I'd just rather not have awkward silence. Shame you didn't find anyone. But I guess I didn't find anyone either. They all left, or died. So both wanted to just bang you? What a bunch of animals. I can't comprehend why they would need to do that, just to get by. I mean why not just kill you right off the bat, take the supplies. Seems easier." She shrugged. "Either way you made it out. Both times."
Daisy watched her fire a shot, only to miss as the rolled by. "You need lots of practice. Maybe try not moving first. I hear it's easier." Daisy bit her lip. "Is it good to just waste all the ammo? You'll be out of it by the time you get any good."
Daisy saw the place as Ellie spoke about Arden. "Wait, Arden has friends? I thought he only had Owen." She shrugged. "I hold they took it back, if not, we may have fight, I don't want that. Why don't we stop ahead, get out and go recon the area. Safer than just barging in."
Post by Ellie St. Mordeaux on Mar 29, 2016 19:37:12 GMT -5
Ellie didn't take kindly to Daisy telling her she needed practice and worse, that she was wasting ammo. She looked at the girl and raised a brow and decided to stop right next to the gaggle of walkers.
"You're right. I should stop and shoot." She knew this may make Daisy uncomfortable, but she didn't care. She had gotten out of hordes before and she would do it again. She rolled the window down a little more and pointed at the closest one coming. A few more started getting closer to the truck, closing in on both sides as she pointed the gun and shot. Brains were blown out the other side of the head as she aimed at another getting close. The trigger pulled again and another one was taken down.
She saw one getting close to Daisy's side and with the truck idling, she hit the automatic window, rolled it down and let the walker almost close enough to reach in. She held her gun up in front of Daisy and smiled. "Plug your ears." When Daisy put her fingers to her ears, she pulled the trigger and watched as it went down.
She put the car in drive, pushing two down to the road and running over another as she started back down the road towards the house.
"Arden has friends. A few, but he has them. What were you saying about wasting ammo?"
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Mar 29, 2016 20:00:44 GMT -5
She was stopping? Fuck why did she have to say anything, fuck why did she open her mouth? Daisy sighed. and watched as walkers began to approaches. Slowly at first, coming from either side. This girl was Indians. Slowly they surrounded, in front, on the left, right. Elliemrolled the window down, fired at the walkers beside her.
Every time Ellie fired Daisy flinched. Why wouldn't she just drive away? Ellie rolled downnDiasy window, one was right there, reaching in. Daisy went for her knife, gripped it tightly. But Ellie reached across and fired, directly at the dead. Daisy didn't have time to plug her ears before Ellie fired. The shot wrang out, loud ringing going off. She couldn't hear anything, just a sharp sound of ringing.
Ellie drove forward taking down two more, as they drove over one a grinding sound could be heard. Whatever Ellie drove over had been mushed up in the tire, they weren't going anywhere, not yet. The car was stuck, tire deep in Walker guts. The walkers around them got closer, windows down, trying to get to them.
Daisy looked at Ellie as she spoke, her mouth was moving but no sound. A gunshot going off by your face, she couldn't hear anything. Then it all came rushing back. She heard the last words 'waisting ammo', the sound of the car revving as it hurried itself deeper in guts, and the growl and snarls of walkers around them.
Daisy gripped her knife, "not waisting ammo yesh."
Post by Ellie St. Mordeaux on Mar 30, 2016 13:01:48 GMT -5
The truck was stuck. Fuck. She had accumulated enough human goo in the wheel well, the tire wouldn't turn anymore. It was likely the intestines had become wrapped around the axle and actuator that it froze the entire steering system on one side. And the walkers were closing in.
"Son of a bitch, I am not leaving my supplies behind."
She reached down between the seats and brought out a knife that would normally be used for paring, only a little bigger and started to open the door. There were enough walkers here they could take them out and then she could work on clearing the guts.
When she opened the door the smell of gooey dead walker hit her senses and she nearly puked right on the spot. It was still one of the hardest scents to get used to no matter how much death floated in the air. She didn't care of Daisy stayed or got out but it would be nice to get a little help.
She gored two walkers in the temples with the knife before checking on the supplies and crawling up to the bumper. Getting the upper hand on them was always good. They couldn't chew through her boots as easy if she got up high.
"You bastards! You stopped my car from moving. Come on then! Come and get me!" Daisy could hear it in her voice. She was pissed that happened and she was going to take it out on each and every one of them. Even though she was crushing some of the supplies, it gave her the height she needed to drive the knife into two more of them.
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Mar 31, 2016 15:30:45 GMT -5
They were stuck, surrounded by walkers. Why did she have to stop? They were so close, why did she have to go and do something so stupid. Just to prove a point, arrogant redneck. Daisy gripped the handle grabbing her knife. The window was still down. As one came near she stabbed it, taking it down.
She opened the door pushing another back. Now they were going to loose the supplies, all because she was to focused on having to kill them. Why couldn't she just leave them. Daisy grabbed her golf club and swung it at a walker's head, watching it drop. There was another, she smacked that, letting it fall.
Ellie had climbed on top of the supplies. Dasiy opted to used the front wheel to climb up. Up on to the hood. She swung down at a walked around her.
"Why did you have to stop," Daisy yelled as she brought her club down through a walkers skull. She smashed another, and another. They kept coming.
"Stupid. It was fucking stupid," she yelled again, taking any biter that got to close.
Post by Ellie St. Mordeaux on Mar 31, 2016 21:03:28 GMT -5
"I had to stop for practice, geez Daisy!" She stabbed another in the head as one reached for her ankle from behind. She felt the mouth close in around the toe of her foot and she kicked him off before finally kicking him in the head twice before the skull finally caved in.
"I'm not losing these supplies. We can handle this." She stopped fighting as only two more approached the truck, letting Daisy handle them.
"You got them. I can get the guts out out of the wheel well. It's gonna be gross, but I'm not leaving this truck behind!"
She made sure the supplies were still in tact, sighing as she realized she crushed a package of ramen noodles. Jumping out of the bed of the truck, she watched as one of the walkers started towards her.
"Just keep me covered so I can get the guts out." Leaning down by the front wheel, she started to pull the stuck intestines that were wrapped around the wheel, splattered into the brakes and slathered into grooves of the tires. "Oh god, this is disgusting." The smell was horrifying as she pulled at the body parts that were strung under the wheel. She wanted to vomit, right then and there.
Post by Daisy Maville-Leckard on Apr 1, 2016 3:13:02 GMT -5
"You're going to get yourself killed. You're crazy," Daisy screamed as she smashed another Walker. "Look at what you got us in to. If you just would have kept on driving, we would have been fine. But no, you need practice. Practice for what? Why can't you use fucking cans and bottles like a normal person?"
Daisy was shaking, freaking out. She gripped the golf club tight and swung hard agaisnt the walker's head. Chunks flew up as she ripped it out. "Fuck me, fuck me. Why did you have to do this." She looked at Daisy, taking another Walker as the blonde jumped off and began to pull the guts fro. The tires. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck."
Daisy saw more coming, from the trees, only two, simple. She jumped off the truck and walked toward him. Swinging her club down she took of it's head, sending blood falling. The other was coming close, faster than she anticipated. With one shove she pushed the Walker back and watched it fall. Daisy then smashed it's hesd, repeatedly again and again. She didn't stop till it's fsce was mud.
Walking back to the truck she raised the club. "Are you almost done. It's clear for now."
Post by Ellie St. Mordeaux on Apr 1, 2016 18:56:24 GMT -5
"Crazy? No way. I know exactly what I'm doing...err...most of the time." She continued to pull the guts out and it was, by far, the most disgusting thing she had ever done. This was the creme de la creme of gross. They did a lot of gross things as kids, including shoving frogs down each other's pants and shirts. Certainly a lot more gross then watching Ernie and Arnold having a loogie contest from the roof the house.
Another long string of sinew came from the wheel well as she pulled it away from the tires.
"God, this is awful."
She pulled more away, and found her stomach starting to lurch as she felt the swishy rotting flesh between her fingers. Finally, she stood up and vomited, right in the front of the car as Daisy took out the last two walkers. She had to get the smell and chunks from her hands and with a half drank bottle of water under the seat, she washed what she could away and looked at Daisy.
"Sorry about that. But, think about what happened here." She got in the truck, started up the engine and waited for Daisy to join her. As the girl climbed in, hesitant about going any further with her, she spoke. She could see that hesitation on the girl's face, but she was confident in her actions.
"We overcame an obstacle. That's what we did. It's what we needed to do."
