Arden kept going, he didn't look back. Didn't need to, just kept walking. He was done with them, the home. Remy didn't give a shit, lord knows Ernie didn't. Those people had attacked them, it out weighed the good they had done for them. Taking back the farm, helping the bikers. Wouldn't have been that easy, but they'd have done it. Once Knox fell the other gave up.
He heard someone behind him. Wasn't a stumbler, female though. He assumed it was Amarie or Remy. Could be the skinny bitch of a bikers sister, coming to finish what her brother couldn't.
he spun and saw Amarie. "What you want," he asked, seeing it was Amarie.
"ain't it clear? I'm leaving. Don't need anyone anymore, clear y'all don't give a shit. Standing up for the god dam enemy. They hurt us, stroked first. I ain't wanting to have to watch my throat from getting slit by a crazy biker while I sleep. I want them gone, they aren't gonna leave. Next step get some of those guns we left behind, ammo. I pump them full of holes. One biker group is the same as the next."
he kept his gaze to her. "Now get home Amarie, you don't want me. Not now."

Amarie followed him down the road as he walked, only stopping as he stopped to turn and face her. She stood there for a minute before shifting her eyes and looking off to the right before answering him.
"I want to make sure you won't be eaten by walkers you can't see."
It was a round about way of saying she was here to protect him and she was about to ask him where he was going as he went on. He said he was leaving and that the house wasn't his anymore. What he was saying was ridiculous. She couldn't believe what she was hearing and she took a few steps closer to him, bringing a hand to the back of her short hair stroking through the locks.
"What are you talking about? That's your house and those bikers ain't gonna kill us. As a matter of fact, after what you just pulled, I wouldn't be surprised if they left before sunrise."
She paused for a second and looked back where she could see the fire starting to die down as the night waned on. She was hungry but she couldn't eat. Not now.
"Besides, ain't you the want that wanted to find family and now you're just going to walk away? You need to get over yourself Arden. Why do you always have to hold such a grudge? Where do you think you're going to go tonight?"
"They better because when I go back heads will role," Arden said roughly. He brushed off the comment about her protecting him. He didn't need help, not now. But it was kind of her, he appreciate he company. "If they aren't gone when I get back the they ain't gonna be around much longer for sure. They ain't want me there, if I stay I'll be the one slitting throats while they sleep."
He kept his gaze, not breaking it. "I found family, there done. I ain't leaving permanently, just the night. I'll be back, I always come crawling back, you know this. I just need to get away, dam pussy ass biker was pissing me off. Why didn't he fight? Why did he just walk away? What's he planning that ugly faced fuck."
He started to pace as he spoke. "Why do I hold a grudge? Susan best Remy within an inch of her life. I couldn't do anything. That biker blind sided me like a fucking faggot. Broke my fucking arm. Over what? Self defence? The long haired biker fired first, I put him down before he killed us. They either leaving, or I'm gonna kill them. They can decide."
He looked back down the road. "I don't know where I gonna go. Gonna start by getting the weapons. W eclipsing carry with us. From there, I haven't decided. Not back, that's for sure. When shit went tits up there was an island, had house. Stayed there for a while. Maybe I'll head there, just need a boat."
truthfully he he wanted to punch someone, beat the living shit out of anyone he could find. He was gonna find someone, a survivor, a group, didn't matter. He wanted to let some rage out on something human.
He looked at her. "You best go give them the warning. Wouldn't want them to wake up to a gunshot to the face."

His words were starting to piss her off now. As much as she bit her tongue and as much as she tried to stay reserved with him, he just kept hounding on the fact he got his ass handed to him by a biker.
"God dammit, Arden. So what? So you got into a fight and the biker won a round. So what? We all gotta live in this world together. Ain't it bad enough that we have to deal with the shufflers with no minds much less other groups? We worked together to get your house back. If they wanted you dead...us dead...we'd be dead!"
This time she started pacing back and forth, her hands were in the air as she tried to keep her cool with him.
"You're like a damn pit bull. I seen you like this before, back in high school. You couldn't let your grudges go only this time you're worse! Like a hungry alligator. Damn, Arden!"
She didn't know what to say. She knew those bikers helped them but she also knew they hurt them.
"I'm sick of all this ...death. You and that Charles fellow. You need to talk and I swear to God I'll duct tape both your hands and feet if I have to. Like men, not two boys in a wrestling ring. Like men!"
She turned from him and started back towards the house. She had enough of this conversation, but she stopped and looked back over her shoulder to him.
"You know, I was looking forward to us just laying in bed and talking. But I guess that will just have to wait now. Come back at sunrise. I don't want to have to worry about you...again."
Which she did when this all started. She couldn't let that childhood crush go. She thought of him when everyone was packing up and leaving or looting stores to stay and hold their ground, which many of them didn't. She stormed back towards the house, past the fire and to the master bedroom where she would lay in the big, empty bed, alone.
