Emry got him soemthing for the pain which he readily took. "Well unless you have another way to make the pain go away." He hobbled int the RV with them, taking a seat st the nearest opportunity. His leg was outstretched, leaning back in his hands. "It doesn't look to bad. Some rest, I'll be God as new. Isn't broken, just sprained."
He reached down, he took a knife and cut alongnthenpant line. Pulling it off he looked down at the purple discolouring. He was skinny, o it was visible clearly. He helld it. "Doesn't seem out of place man, besides the swelling should be fine, there's a cooler in the ambiance, plugged in. Ice cold beer. Grab one, I need to apply ice to get the swelling down.mmsy not come fully, but soon."
He looked at it, "I'll just baby it. Nothing you can do till the swelling goes down anyway, even if it is broken. And that, that just takes time," he looked at Tala. "I know I ain't a doctor, but you ain't one either. Just let me sit with my knee up, get the swelling down. Then we can take a look at it. This bad, will be a couple of days for sure. Think you can handle it till then?"

Wyatt saw how Mason looked down, he already rolled his eyes knowing that he probably would tell a sad story, trying to look innocent, trying to play the victim. He quickly changed is look to a smile once Mason looked back up and started talking. He let him talk and like he predicted, it was sad story about how his job was unsuccessful, about how his wife left him, etc… .
Wyatt looked at him trying to read off some body language as he talked, it was hard to tell if he was speaking the truth or not. He noticed the grief he expressed as he said he lost twelve group members in Dallas, one dying in his arms. That look he had right there, seemed like he was being honest and really relived through the pain, but some other facial expressions told a different story. For now Wyatt couldn’t read him very clear.
Wyatt nodded as he was done talking and ended his story with saying he wouldn’t fail again. “If that is really your plan, then I can only cheer at it and then I’m glad you are here.” He spoke looking at him. “Means we have someone else that is helping our group to survive.” He added. “That is only if you are speaking the truth, but like I said for now you get the benefit of doubt.” He spoke looking around trying to search more wood.
Then he looked one last time straight into his eyes. “Next time you think you are about to make a mistake, think of the words you just told me and hold on to them.” He spoke. “That should be enough to guide you and to choose the right way.” He added with a wink.
Then he walked a few steps and pointed at some branches. “Think these will do just fine.”
(hope it was ok to post? Since me and Mason are talking to each other, I thought it would be ok so skip order ;-) )
Tala explained to Emyr why she believed the RV was going to be better to help Rob, as it was much more secure and had the supplies to help treat Rob. She told him to help carry Rob with her, so he did. He felt like a loyal dog, obeying all the commands of his owner, he was expecting to bark at any moment.
When inside, there was more for him to do, he needed to help lay him down and cut the leg of his pants. It seemed simple enough. Emyr was slow to react, and Rob ended up doing it himself. He felt as if Rob knew better than they did, he looked so confident going about it. Rob spoke of a cooler in the ambulance, containing ice cold beer, Emyr wandered off to go fetch some when Rob asked.
Emyr stepped outside but froze when he saw a little girl standing outside the RV. He had jumped upon seeing her, as it was quite a shock and another human was the last thing he'd wanted to have seen. She was only a little girl but that didn't change anything, he was still scared. He didn't know how to react, he could either deal with her himself or go grab Tala. He already knew the answer, Tala was a lot better with people. He slowly stepped back into the RV. "Tala, I'm going to need you a sec."
Mason seemed relieved to of passed through the test that Wyatt had given him. Wyatt only wants to protect his group. Mason could understand that. He knew deep down that Wyatt was a hero in this world. The complete opposite of what Mason figures himself to be. Two opposites standing together felt weird but very necessary if Mason was ever going to get what he wanted from the group. He had to be trusted. That's the first step.
Looking around as Wyatt claimed that they've got enough fire wood, Mason could see past the trees an orange tag used for hunting stuck to a thin oak tree. Hunting ground meant there were cabins nearby. As Wyatt seemed to be heading back, Mason whistled at him to get his attention before pointing in the direction. "There's a cabin nearby. We can find the dirt road, follow it and bring the RV there. Sleep out there for the night so we're not as exposed."
The old man was right. Wasn't much they could do but elevate it and see how bad it was. " wouldn't happen to have a set of crutches on that rig, would ya?" She smiled at Robert. Funny, she was glad the old guy was still with them. She was wrapping his knee with an ace bandage from the first aid kit to keep it imobilized, when Emyr called her name from the door.
He hadn't gotten far. What was wrong? The tone of his voice worried her. She stood and slowly pulled her gun as she moved to stand behind him on the step, still in the doorway. " what's wrong, Em?" She stopped talking and stared. He was looking at something near the rear of the RV. Holy shit! Was that a kid? She glanced at Emyr," where did she come from?" She pushed past him a little and stared at the girl." Hi...there... What's your name?" Tala held the gun down, hidden behind her thigh. I mean it was a kid, right, but you couldn't be too careful.
Lucy gave a small jump as noticed that she had been spotted. She immediately put her hands up. "I-I just wanted to see where the engine noise was coming from!" She stammered out. "I didn't want to sleep outside so I was looking for any shelter." She added. The girl bit her bottom lip in anxiety. The woman in front of her had asked her name. Lucy hesitated. Should she lie? Lying wouldn't help her nor hurt her. It was a simple question, but if these people were bad she didn't want to be truthful about anything. If they found out she was lying they wouldn't be happy either. She decided to tell the truth. "Lucy." Putting her hands down by her sides she looked at the man standing at the entrance of the RV. He was probably the one that first spotted her. She furrowed her eyebrows a bit. If he saw her before the woman then why didn't he call her out? Was the woman the groups leader? "I can leave if you want. I don't want any trouble." This is what people usually say when they run into other survivors. She learned this on the road with her dad in the early days of the outbreak. Saying this usually worked to calm the nerves of both parties.

Wyatt was slowly stepping back, when he heard the whistle of Mason. He rolled his eyes since he hated being whistled at. He turned around looking at Mason “A simple psssst, or Hey Wyatt, would have done the trick, a whistle makes me feel like a dog, which I’m not.” He spoke. “I wasn’t that far, so even a whispered yell I would have heard.” He added.
Then he smiled as he noticed that cabin too while stepping closer to Mason. “That being said, god job noticing it.” He added with a slight smile. “And I totally agree with your plan.” He added. “So let’s get back while searching for the dirt road.” He spoke. “Once we are there we’ll gather the others and get them over here.” He added.
He nods, "Indeed" and with that, the two head back, finding the dirt road off in the distance along the way. As they inch closer to the RV and Ambulance, a little girl can be seen walking to the group. Mason stopped for a second, looking around to see if she came alone or not. Knowing it could easily be a trick from another group. A very good way for one group to lower their defense and attention for an attack.
He doesn't wait for long, seeing as she is alone. But they are all still out in the open. He glances at Wyatt before heading towards the group with the fire wood in his hands. Walking to the front of the RV he dropped them and walked over to the scene where Tala was asking for her name. The kid looked scared. Mason couldn't care less. But for the sake of everything's he's been working for as of late, he had a look of false concern creep on his face, awaiting the little girl's response.

As Wyatt and Mason slowly got back to the rest of the Group, they both notice the little girl. Wyatt couldn’t help but to check his holster for his gun, just making sure it was still in place. Yes it was a little girl, but bandits, killers, all those horrible people, knew it would be handy to send a little girl as bait. He noticed how Mason looked at him, strange that as two opposites they probably were thinking the same thing, he gave Mason a simple nod, to let him know, they had to be careful.
Wyatt stepped closer and stood next to Tala. “She alright?” he asked looking from Tala to the girl, trying not to look too stern. Even if it was a trick for a different group, the kid didn’t need to pay for that.
(Hahaha Mason reacted the same way Wyatt would immediately thinking it could be bait )

Tala didn't approach the girl, giving the child space. She could only imagine what she had seen. Lara was an adult and she had seen enough nasty shit go down that it affected her, no doubt it would a child. Looking at her, she smiled as she noticed the girl hesitate to give her name and checking out Emyr at the door." It's ok, he's harmless, a big ol pussy cat, I promise."
Lara smiled at the kid. Staring at her made her miss the girls. She didn't think she had gotten that attached to them, but that ache in her chest reminded her otherwise. She was glad the girl had given her name," Lucy, that's a nice name. You don't have to go." Lara looked past her for a moment, wondering if she truly was alone or if this was a trap.
Wyatt and Mason came back and she glanced at Wyatt," she doesn't look hurt, probably thirsty and hungry, though." Lara could feel Mason behind her and glanced at him," would you grab a water bottle?"
Post by Wyatt Thorne on Apr 20, 2016 14:57:24 GMT -5
Wyatt listened as Tala spoke about the girl, as she spoke Wyatt smiled a little at the girl, making sure she was comfortable. As she finished he looked once last time around, to make sure the little child wasn’t just bait.
He then waited for Mason to get the water. “Hi little one, my name is Wyatt.” He said as he slowly crouched before her. “How come you are all by yourself?” he asked still smiling. It was sad to see in what shape the kid was, she looked horrible, probably hungry, thirsty and tired.
Even after all this time Wyatt couldn’t believe someone could just leave the kid, or maybe her group member were killed, he hoped she would tell. He always felt so sad when it came to kids in the apocalypse. Seeing one alive was great, but sad as he saw in what shape they were, seeing a dead body or a zombie kid, just felt like a knife in his heart. But it felt good they might be able to help this one.
Lucy began to feel overwhelmed as two more men appeared. They looked big in her eyes as well as dangerous and they seemed sceptical of her appearance. The woman assured her that the man in the doorway was okay. That calmed her nerves a little. The woman also told one of the big men to grab a water bottle. Water sounded like heaven right now. Her mouth felt like she had cotton balls stuck to her toung. The other man began to speak to her. He asked where her group was. Lucy tilted her head slightly. She guessed that they were surprised to see a child all alone. To Lucy she thought that if anyone were alone it was normal. She still replied. "I don't know." She simply said giving a shrug. This was true. Her dad and brother never returned when they said they would. "They didn't come back."
"Are there anymore people?" She asked looking at the gathering group. "Have you seen my dad? He's tall and has a baseball cap." She added. Maybe these people could direct her to her dad. She just wanted to be with her family after being alone for so long.

Mason nodded his head as Lara requested a bottle of water for the girl. He walked to the RV and made his way up the steps immediately going to the cooler. Opening up the lid, his gaze caught sight of his machete hanging out of his bag on the floor. The machete that started it all. Spilling the blood of all his victims. It brought him to dark places that he didn't want to leave. And the thing is, he never even felt gone. So the phrase "too far gone" didn't apply to him or his intentions to kill for game. It was just how he was. The apocalypse just allowed him to realize it.
But looking at that machete, his urge to grab it and kill those people out there was strong. Stronger than usual. But something kept him from doing it. He couldn't put his finger on what. The day has been long. They've already been attacked. These people are a targeted bunch. But they're also interesting. Being with them was dangerous which intrigued him. He wanted to read them all. Especially Lara.
He set the thoughts aside and grabbed the water and brought it out to the little girl, flashing a sly smile to Lara, hoping she would flash one back. He's seen her smile a hand full of times. And each time it made him want to see it again. He slowly began to realize that he wanted her. And if he had to build a relationship and trust with her before he could make his move and kill off her irrelevant group members, then so be it.
" They didn't come back." She glanced at Wyatt. This was something she could believe and see happening. People got separated because they got killed and those they left in safety never knew. Lara's heart broke for the girl. She missed her girls, wondered what they were doing, what they had been through without her. She had made a promise! She pushed those thoughts down, like she often did. Dwelling on it could get her killed and she would do Clem and Dakota no good if she was dead.
Lara heard Mason walk up behind her and she took the water bottle from him. She tried to give him a smile, but it was clear her heart was breaking. She took the bottle and her fingers brushed over his, not meaning to, they lingered for a moment. That touch, that contact. She was always strong, but she needed to crumble before she broke.
Lara held the bottle out to Lucy," there's just us and one more, in the RV, he got hurt and is testing." Lara glanced at Wyatt and Mason," did you see anyone in the area, like that?" She hoped they hadn't found any walkers that fit the girls description. It would at least give the girl hope, and that was in short supply in this world.

Wyatt felt a wave of sadness coming over him as he heard the kid was alone and that her people never came back. He noticed the glance of Tala as she spoke, he looked at her and gave her the ‘we have to help her’ look. “I’m sorry to hear that Lucy.” He said calm.
Mere seconds later Mason came back with the bottle, he saw how he looked at Tala as she grabbed the bottle from his hand and touched is fingers in the process. He also noticed the little smile Tala had on her face. He felt angry and sad seeing them like that. Wyatt just wanted to grab Tala by the shoulders and shake her, to open her eyes. Mason might not be a bad guy, but he wasn’t the right guy for her. Deep down Wyatt knew he thought of himself as the perfect guy, but that feeling didn’t came out yet. Was it because he was scared of rejection? Was it because he was scared if it wouldn’t work out, he would lose her as a friend too? OR was he still in denial? For now all he knew was that he didn’t like Mason and her being so weird, with the smiles etc… .
He then heard how Lucy asked if there were more people and if they had seen her dad. He blinked to regain his focus and looked at the poor girl. He watched Tala as she explained who else was in their group, followed by handing over the bottle of water. Wyatt looked at Tala as she asked about seeing someone that fit the description of her dad. He then turned his eyes to Lucy. “No sweetheart, we didn’t see anyone like that, which is good news, means he’s still out there.” He said with a wink. He then raised his hand and wanted to rub the back of her head, but even before he could fully raise it, he felt the pain of where the bullet had hit. He restrained himself from yelling and just let out a quiet. “Arg.” before touching the wound with his other hand.
Lucy listened as the woman told her about the other meme bets of their group. That was when the other man came back with a water bottle. As they handed it to her the young girl couldn't control herself as she savagely opened the bottle up and emptying almost half its contents into the body. Stopping only after she felt the slight burn of the cold water against her throat. She closed the bottle. Almost forgetting her manners she said "Thank you." Before listening to the man respond to her other question.
They haven't seen him, but the man, who he introduced himself as Wyatt earlier, assured that he was still out there alive. Lucy gave a soft smile, although it disappeared after Wyatt groaned in pain. She furrowed her eyebrows. Was he bitten? She hoped not. Most likely a gun shot wound. Why would he have a gun shot wound? The little girl decided to keep her mouth shut this time. Instead she simply patted the man on the head and said "It's okay to cry if it hurts to much." Her dad used to say this to her whenever she got injured and was to stubborn to cry.
Lucy dropped her hand to her side once more. Looking over to the man that brought the water bottle she took in his appearance. He seemed a bit more standoffish than Wyatt. Maybe it was because she was a stranger. He did make Lucy feel uneasy though. She decided to stick to Wyatt for the time being. She felt like she would be safest with him.
Mason didn't think much about the slight touch of Tala's hand. He was too interested in this little girl at the moment. Still asking himself if it's a trick. And if not, well he'd have to hand it to her. A little girl strong enough to survive on her own was fascinating to Mason. Even if she survives off of puppy dog eyes. Begging groups for help. It works for her. At least it has been.
He then remembered that they are still out in the open. And the potential hunting cabin was still an option for the night. Now that they know where the dirt road is. "There's a cabin. We can all stay at for the night. Rest and heal. It's far better than a vulnerable spot like this on the side of the road. Why don't we all settle into the RV and Ambulance and head there? We can start a fire and cook up some beans."
Lara watched the little girl, she worried if this was a good idea or not. Wyatt spoke, and assured the girl that they had not seen her father. He moved and winced. Fuck! His shoulder!
Lara stared at him, then the girl. Mason spoke up, saying something about a cabin. It was close, somewhere they could all hold up. It made sense.
Lara looked at Wyatt, then Mason, 'Alright,i say we move. I can look at Wyatt's shoulder there, and we can take a few days to rest Robert's leg." Lara looked at the girl, "Lucy, I think you should come with us. I won't force you to come, but I think you'd be safer with us, and we can help you to stay safe and see if we can find your father." She smiled at the girl and went to Wyatt, 'You alright to drive the ambulance?" She looked at his shoulder and saw some fresh blood, "Damnit, Wyatt, we gotta sew this up. You're bleeding again." Least the bullet wasn't inside. Lara looked at Mason, "You drive the RV, lead us. Robert is inside, and Emyr, I can ride with Wyatt and Lucy. That way both vehicles has a gun." She looked at Lucy, "So little one, you want to go with us?"

Wyatt smiled as Lucy told him it was ok to cry if it hurt too much. “Thanks sweetie.” He said with a smile, while slowly feeling the pain fading away. “Isn’t she adorable.” He said softly while looking at Tala. Wyatt always had a weak spot for little kids, he wanted some of his own, but never met the right woman.
Wyatt then turned his head and looked at Mason as he spoke. He nodded as he told the other about the spot he found. “Sounds like a good plan to me.” He replied. Then he turned his head so he could see Tala as she spoke. He listened as Tala said she could take care of Wyatt this shoulder in the cabin and how it would be good for Robert to rest there.
He then just smiled at Lucy. “Yes, let us help you.” He said with a smile right after Tala asked her to come, stilling being crouched in front of Lucy. He then looked up at Tala as she asked if he could drive the ambulance. “Sure.” He spoke and smiled at her. He looked at his wound as Tala cursed and said it had to be sewed up. “It isn’t that bad, you can fix me.” He said smiling a little while looking at her.
He then nodded as Tala told Mason to drive to RV, with Emyr and Robert and She, Lucy and Wyatt himself would take the ambulance. “Alright.” He said as he slowly stood up straight. Then he looked at Lucy as Tala once more asked if she was going to join them. “Yes come with us.” he said with a smile while offering her his good hand, so this time not hurting himself while raising the arm.
Lucy listened intently as the other members of the group spoke. The other man. Who's name was Mason. Spoke about a hunters cabin not that far from here. It would be great shelter for the night. Better than being out in the open in some vehicles that could easily be surrounded by the monsters. Or what lots of people called them. Walkers.
The woman asked if she would come with them. Wyatt agreed that she should come with them. They weren't forcing her which was nice. She nodded with a smiles "Yes!" She said a little to excitedly. Orders were now being spoken. Mason would drive the RV Licy was so curious about before, and she, Wyatt, and the woman. Would ride in the ambulance. Lucy walked over to the ambulance and got inside the back. She had never been in an ambulance before so she was actually quite excited for this new experience.
She looked around the space. It was quite large compared to what she thought the inside of an ambulance would be like. She stuck her head out the door and looked at the others. "Come on!" She exclaimed withdrawing her head back inside. The girl quietly waited inside.
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
