A few hours later Wyatt stopped the ambulance on a parking of a deserted dining restaurant. His arm still hurt like hell, but while driving he checked and was glad that at least the bullet wasn’t inside, it just passed his shoulder, making some sort of gash. So Wyatt knew he wouldn’t have lost too much blood either. He looked at the RV in front, of him and was glad it finally stopped, he wanted to talk to Tala and he didn’t trust Mason so a conversation with him was needed too.
Next to him was Emyr, he stayed quiet for the whole trip, the poor guy was probably in shock, from the recent events. Wyatt himself was pretty in shock from the recent events, the dead of Oliver and their escape, for a minute he thought they wouldn’t make it out. Then he reminded himself the good news, that the others were still alive, which made him smile a little. Because of that he had hope in finding his brother again, he thought if they could survive Nic could too. Wyatt then turned to Emyr. “Hey mate, how you holding up?” Wyatt asked. He looked in his mirror to check on Robert in the back, he was still out cold, but he noticed some movement. Wyatt felt another wave of pain from the big gash. But he was though so he didn’t say or do anything.

As hours pass of silence in the RV except for some minor chatter here and there, Mason brings the vehicle to a halt, "Hey maybe we should check on the others. Maybe camp out here since night is taking over." Looking on at her he could see in her eyes a person he has yet to find out. But what intrigues him the most is the mystery. What could he do? How could he do it? These feelings he feels isn't normal, and of course it's brought his judgement of staying with the group to question, and for some reason he's still here. Helping them.
He then places the RV in park and walks to the back to his bag before grabbing his bag from under the table and retrieving a stick of Deodorant as Lara gives him a look. "What I gotta keep up my hygiene." Speaking with a cocky tone he places the stick down and follows her out.
Wyatt pulled up the ambulance by some sort of dining restaurant. Most of the journey, he'd just been staring out of the window, trying to take his mind off everything. It was always death, he didn't like death and death never made him happy. He needed that time just to get away, he didn't really feel like talking. The RV was still in sight, thankfully, he was glad the others made it without any trouble. Hopefully that would be the last bit of trouble they'd see for awhile, but he didn't think so, there was always something bad lurking around every corner.
Out of nowhere, Wyatt spoke and asked how he was holding up. He felt bad for being silent for the whole journey, he wasn't much company. But with all the death and believing he was going to get shot at any moment, he didn't really feel like talking. "I've been better. I'm sorry for b-being bad company Wyatt, it's just with all that just happened, I haven't really felt talking. Anyway, how are you doing?" Add the fact that Emyr wasn't much of a talker in the first place. He waited for Wyatt to be ready before stepping out of the RV.
Things went quiet for awhile. She sat in the passenger seat just staring out the window. She kept te spear across her lap.
He finally stopped and she moved. Lara had been thinking the whole time. Replaying the whole confrontation in her head. Over and over , looking at options and where things had gone wrong. When the RV stopped, she was up and heading for the door. She felt him move past her and stared as he applied deodorant. One brow rose at his response," don't care what you smell like, long as you cover my ass." She pulled her gun as she opened the door. It was getting dark, and who knew what the fuck was roaming around. She wouldn't be caught off guard again.
" I think I shot Wyatt when I shot Carter." She spoke as he followed her. She walked back towards the ambulance, eyes watching the blooming shadows.
Coming up to the driver's door, she waited for Wyatt to roll down the window," everything okay?" Her eyes roamed him and she saw the blood." Damnit, Wyatt, Jesus, I'm sorry, we gotta check it, is it bad?" She glanced at Emyr," you alright?" She felt horrible and completely responsible. Her rigid demeanor softened as she stood there looking at them.

Wyatt smiled as Emyr spoke. “It’s ok bud, very understandable to be in shock.” He replied.”So no need to apologize, I’m not the best company myself right now, so no worries.” he added. Then he sighed. “Well I think I’m doing okay, seeing the circumstances, shoulder isn’t too badly wounded, could be worse, so yeah, I’m fine.” He replied to his question about how he was doing.
Wyatt saw Tala, followed by Mason, heading their way. “Now that we are still alone, i have to ask you something, help me keep an eye on him will yah, I really don’t trust him.” Wyatt spoke softly. Then he rolled down the window and smiled at Tala. He heard how she worried about his wound. “No, it’s not bad, you don’t have to apologize, I’m glad someone shut that fucker up, this is just collateral damage.” He said with a smile. “And I have to look at the bright side, you can take care of my wound, which means we can talk and spend some time together.” He added with a chuckle.
Then he looked in her eyes “How are you doing?” he asked worried.
Emyr felt slightly better than he had after Wyatt had reassured him that it was okay to be in shock and that he hadn't really been the best of company either throughout the long drive. Emyr looked at the RV in front, wondering if the others were alright, and then asked Wyatt how he was feeling. His shoulder wasn't too badly wounded according to him, which was a good sign. Hopefully Robert would be okay soon too, Emyr hoped.
He saw Tala and Mason heading their way from the RV. Whilst looking at them, Emyr was surprised to hear Wyatt asking a favor of him, to keep an eye on Mason, as Wyatt didn't trust him. Emyr didn't think much bad of Mason, but would still do as Wyatt asked. "Okay." Tala was at the window next, she seemed worried about Wyatt's wound. She went on to ask Emyr how he was doing. "I'm doing okay now." He was still in shock a little bit but it had died down slightly when Wyatt reassured him it was okay. Emyr glanced at Tala when Wyatt asked how she was doing, Emyr also wanted to know the answer.
As everyone caught up and Lara's curiously was finally fulfilled knowing that they were alright, Mason kept an eye out since they were all out in the open. Gripping his knife he surveys the area before hearing leaves rustling. A lone walker coming into sight. Very tall male missing an eye with half his face melted. A scary sight for any ordinary being before the outbreak. But for these survivors, it's an everyday picture. Mason moves in and jabs the walker in the skull, yanking it out before the monster falls.
He looks back at the others while taking out a hankerchiff and wiping the blood and brains from his knife. "I'm gonna gather some wood. And make us a fire, cook us up some beans." He explained before turning back at them, "Anybody want to come?"
Tala wasn't sure if Wyatt was telling her the truth, but she had to trust him at his word. He said the wound wasn't bad, so she didn't press the issue.
She looked at Emyr, listening to him answer her. He seemed to be handling it well. At least he was now, she remembered the look of fear on his face back at camp. She turned quickly as she heard a scuffle behind her and saw Mason taking down a walker. She gripped her gun handle. Damn, she was wound far too tight.
He mentioned starting a fire," I'll go with you," she glanced at Wyatt and Emyr," maybe you guys take care of that wound and Robert. First aid kits in the RV."

Wyatt was glad Emyr agreed to keep an eye on Mason, he gave him a friendly nod to show his appreciation right before Tala arrived. He heard how Emyrs said he was doing ok, and Wyatt was glad the boy was doing alright, it was much for all of them, but he figured it was even worse for Emyr, so yes he was glad he was ok.
Tala didn’t ask more about his wound, he was glad, cause actually it hurt quiet a lot and it would make her feel guilty. Besides Wyatt was a though one, so he could handle pain.
Next up Mason joined them, for Wyatt it was as if a negative energy joined them, he couldn’t put his finger on it, but something was off. His look, personality, body language, none of that all came off as good. He noticed the walker coming and saw how Mason took care of it. ‘at least he’s good at killing those.’Wyatt thought as he watched him. Mason then walked closer and told them he wuld go look for fire and if anybody wanted to join him. Tala was the first one to say she wanted to join. ‘That’s no surprise.’ Wyatt thought, he noticed the look he got when he pushed Mason away from her, back at their previous place.
He couldn’t understand, how Tala didn’t see the real Mason or was he so wrong about Mason? Wyatt started to doubt himself. Tala had a special place, so it could be jealousy, he couldn’t decide if it was love or friendship between them, but if he didn’t want to lose her, he probably needed to step up his game. But that wasn’t important now, he didn’t want Tala alone with him in the woods, so he had to speak u. “Nah it’s alright, I’ll go, probably can’t carry that much with my shoulder, but we don’t need a lot, so two men should be enough.” Wyatt spoke. “Besides, you are way better at taking care of wounds, so you can look at Rob then and hopefully at my wound when I get back.” He added with a little smile. “That sounds like a plan?” he asked and prayed that she would agree, if not, he would still join them in the woods.
He watched Mason as he found and put down a lone walker. It was the usual for them walkers were easy to deal with, humans were more trouble, they were lucky they had not run into any since fleeing the RV park. Wyatt was cautious of the man and every right to be, but from Emyr's perspective, Mason didn't seem too bad, he was nice to Emyr, something most didn't and he'd shared his food with him. The man came over, telling the group he was going to collect wood and asking if anyone wanted to go along with him.
Tala initially volunteered to go and then somewhat surprisingly to Emyr, Wyatt volunteered to go instead. Whatever the end result, it seemed pretty certain that Emyr would be stuck behind with Robert. He looked at the rest of the group to see what the response would be.
"He's right Lara, you should probably stay back with Robert and Emyr. Besides, Wyatt wanted to have a talk with me. Can't put it off forever." He smiles at the three before looking back at the dark forest. What am I doing.... he then glances back at the others placing his false smile back on motioning for Wyatt to follow. "Keep your firearm close. Who knows what lurks through these trees."
With that the two head off into the woods. Prepared for any surprise attacks holding their guns close. Mason knows what the talk is about. Wyatt doesn't trust him. He can sense it. Mason's ways are exactly what Wyatt probably expects out of him. A pure evil being looking for blood. But Mason, he hasn't figured out what he wants yet. Every job, he takes what he wants. He has his eyes on something but needs more time so for now, a talk will have to do. "Look....I get it. You don't trust me. The day I show up one of your people die and your camp gets surrounded by 20 or so men. And it doesn't matter what I tell you. It doesn't matter if I say that it was just a coincidence and I'm really a nice guy just looking to live my days with other living beings. Or I could say that I set it all up and I plan on killing you and your group. Despite saving your asses causing the big explosion back there. It doesn't matter, you're always gonna doubt because you're a leader. A protector. These are your people. Your family. So if you feel like I may put them in danger, you're gonna let me know. You're gonna threaten me and tell me that if I ever do anything to harm you and your group, you'll kill me. That's a given. I can see it in your eyes. So spare the words. If you really don't want to give people a chance nowadays, I understand. People come and go. I'll go...."
Lara stopped short as Wyatt spoke up about going with Mason. She glanced back at him and then over at Mason. He spoke up and agreed to Wyatt going with him. She waited before she nodded and agreed to Wyatt going with Mason instead of her.
She looked at Emyr in the passenger seat," come on and help me get Rob into the RV so I can get a better look at him, please?" She moved around to the back of the Ambulance and waited for Emyr to come back before she opened the doors. Robert didn't look horrible, she'd seen worse, but at his age, who knew? She had seen what Carter did to the older man and it had made her sick. She maneuvered inside and helped Emyr get him out of the back of the ambulance. " it's gonna take us both to get him over there and inside." She got under one shoulder and took Roberts weight onto her.

Wyatt was surprised when Mason sided with him, and the surprise got even bigger when he said he owed him a talk. Wyatt always thought he was avoiding talking, but seemed he was mistaken. He jumped out of the vehicle and got his gun ready, he didn’t like to agree with Mason but he was right, you never know what’s in the woods. Then he followed behind Mason. “We’ll be back in no time.” He said as he looked back at Lara and Emyr.
Wyatt was scanning the woods and trying to spot anything that wasn’t in place, he was very focused, until Mason started to talk. He listened to his speech and added a smile and a chuckle from time to time, but mostly his face was neutral, maybe stern at some times.
After Mason was done, waited a couple seconds, thinking about what he said, before chuckling once more and look up at him. “Let’s see where shall I start.” He said placing his finger at the bottom of his chin and pretending to think. “Ah yes, indeed I don’t trust you.” He lowering his hand again. “But, and yes there is a but, I’m pretty sure you didn’t have anything to do with what happened earlier.” He spoke looking at Mason. “You are also right about the part where you say it doesn’t matter what you say, cause in the apocalypse you are never sure and you seem like a douche.” Wyatt spoke. “Just stop trying so hard with the others, acting like a sweet guy while glaring behind their backs, makes you look suspicious.” He added.
Then he waited again and sighed. “But I never turn down a fellow survivor, I’m glad you understand I’m just trying to keep the group safe, try to be a little more normal and I’ll try to give you a chance.” He spoke and looked down for a second. “Though you are also right about the killing part, do anything wrong, hurt them, put them in danger and you are a dead man.” He said giving him a glare. “And it won’t be a quick dead, be sure that you will be in a lot of pain.” He added. Then he quickly raised his gun in the direction of Mason and a shot was fired. Wyatt noticed a walker getting closer behind Mason, which they didn’t hear cause of their talk, but this way he probably scared Mason a little and killed the walker. “Just never do something wrong with my group, cause then the shot, wouldn’t be meant for a walker.” He said stern.
Then he walker closer and raised his hand. “But for now, I’ll give you the benefit of doubt.” He spoke. “Which doesn't mean you are off the hook, I’m not that easy, I’ll still watch your every move.” He added.

Robert had passed out from the pain. When he awoke he was in the Ambulance still, alone. His leg hurt like hell. He could see it swollen, like a grape fruit around his knee. He touched it and winced. Man did it hurt. He couldn't move it, bend it, not without pain surging through it. Worse part he couldn't tell if was broken, or if it was just fucked up. Did the ambulance have an X-Ray machine? If so could they use it.
He saw the door open to Tala and Emry. "How is everyone," he asked calmly through gritted teeth. He felt tala brace him under her shoulder. He stood on his good leg. "Fuck it hurts. Hurts so bad." He said his eyes closing shut in pain. "Like I want to throw up bad." He took a deep breath. "Emry, there's a med kit in the back. Morphine, pain killers. Grab lots man. I need it."
He leaned against Tala the best he could. "Wouldn't the ambulance be better for this? It has the mess man." He winced again as he moved. "Did we get away from them at least? Or did they follow us?"
Emyr moved round to the back of the ambulance to help Tala take Robert to the RV. When the doors were opened, he looked at Robert, he felt sorry for the man, he was only trying to keep the peace and in the end, received the opposite. Tala suggested that they both helped to carry him, Emyr nodded. Soon enough, Robert was awake and asked him to go fetch a med kit, so be did. He grabbed as much as he could and then hurried back to the others. He'd let Tala explain to him about the other group. "So are we doing this here or in the RV?"
Mason stayed focused on the woods ahead as Wyatt explained what was on his mind. Exactly what Mason had thought. Smiling at the "stop trying to hard" comment Mason stops his gaze in front and glances over at Wyatt, awaiting for him to finish before adding in, "Then we're settled. Nice talk bud. But I do gotta tell you something...my personality...well...I am a pretty laid back, sweet guy. Not really trying at all when I charmed the others. You'll catch on." He said with a smile that really worried about saying anything wrong as no matter what he's not leaving the group. He still needs to figure out what he wants. He's just gotta make sure Wyatt doesn't suspect anything before he does.
"Tala, is she your girlfriend?" He asks while bending down to grab another stick. "I seen the way you look at her. You obviously like her....or wait...is it too weird to ask that question? Come on man. It's the apacolypse and our days are numbered. I won't spend them holding back. You don't have to trust me....but you can talk to me. You'd be surprised how lucky we are to even be with other survivors. Some are out there alone tonight, asking themselves if they'll make it. And we have the benefit of buddying up to go collect fire wood for our group."
Tala didn't want to keep wasting time. Rob needed to get checked out. She let Emyr get him something for pain." Don't OD, old man. I don't want to have to put you down." She shifted and glanced at Emyr," the RV is more secure, I got water and thing we are gonna need there." She nodded at Emyr," get under his other arm, let's get him to the RV before we have company." She didn't think anyone from the militia would come looking, not yet, but dead, she figured the engines drew attention."
When they got Rob inside, she the best she could. " Em, I am gonna need your help, we need to lay him down, cut the leg of his pants so I can see it." She grabbed a jug of water and washed her hands as best she could. Lara wished they had a doctor, she had no clue what she was doing. Rob's leg looked bad, real bad.

Wyatt felt a shiver as he heard Mason saying bud to him. He decided to stay put for now, he was sick of all the pointless arguments, so he didn’t say anything about it. “Yes nice talk indeed.” Was all he could reply. He rolled his eyes as Mason told him everybody became charmed by him and he shook his head as Mason added he would learn it. “Yeah I doubt that I’ll get charmed by you, so don’t count on it.” He spoke.
Then he asked a question that made Wyatt think, he asked if Lara was his girlfriend. Not being able to answer right away, was proof enough for himself that something was going on. As he kept quiet many things ran through his mind. ‘Is it love I feel for her?’ he asked himself. ‘We’ve been through so much and I would protect her with my life.’ He thought. ‘What if I love her, will she love me back?’ he wondered. Wyatt was a tough guy, but love wise he was a slight softy.
He pulled himself out of the thought stream, so he could finally answer Mason. “To be honest, I think we both don’t know.” Wyatt replied. He noticed how Mason pushed to trust him and to talk about his feelings, but he was the last person Wyatt would talk to about his feelings. But he also noticed Mason was fond of Tala, so he didn’t want to give him a green light by telling he didn’t love her. He was happy with the answer he picked. The only person that could help him now was his brother. Wyatt smiled as he thought about how many times they talked to each other about love, giving each other advise, but the happiness was pushed down by sadness as he reminded himself that his brother was gone. He had no clue if he was still alive, if he would ever hear his voice. But he hoped he was doing just find, he had to hope that, the idea of him being death, was something he didn’t want to face yet. So he focused and searched wood.
Wyatt turned back at Mason as he heard him say how they were lucky that they could buddy up to search wood. ‘Again the word buddy.’ was all Wyatt could think. “Yeah lucky indeed.” He replied trying not to sound sarcastic. “But Mason, pal….” Wyatt started, even though it was hard to call him pal. “What about you, what’s your story?” he asked. He figured it wouldn’t hurt to try to be nice, he didn’t trust him yet, but if they wanted a strong reliable group, trust was everything.
He glanced over at him for a brief second before staring down at his feet hiding the look in his eyes. Thinking of what his life had become. Losing everything. His job. His wife. Nearly killing himself until he saw an opportunity. Something had happened to the world and he didn't question it. Instead. He marched over to his old house. Grabbed the very machete he has in his backpack, and slaughtered his ex wife and her boyfriend. Lucking out of what the world had become. He started early. The high he got from their blood spilling on his hands was enough to hook him. And from then on out, he felt invincible. Going from camp to camp blending in then killing everyone. Taking what he wanted. He did it because he could. Others would hesitate on killing a child. But Mason. He lost his heart far before the world gone to shit. He'd shoot a child in the skull without even flinching. His reasoning's for killing had begun to fade to the point where there was no reason except for the fact he wanted to see what type of bleeder they were. A gusher or a squirter. He had truly become Cain, the father of murder except for he had no mark. Again, he was invincible.
He looked up at Wyatt with a smile on his face. "I was a lawyer. But not very successful. My lack of success led my wife to leave me. I had no kids. I actually lost quite a bit. But never lost my character. My personality. The charm I was telling you about. Once all of this hit, well I tried to find her. She was gone. Probably without a thought of me on her mind....I was on my own. That is until I was with a group in Dallas. We were held up in a mall for a month until the glass doors caved in and they came pouring in. Destroying our group. 12 people died that night. One in my hands...." He paused for a second with a look of grief on his face. "The four including me who survived, well we left Dallas and lived in the trees. Finally finding a hunting cabin. We stayed there for a long time. But that didn't last. One night, we just got surrounded. I was the only survivor. Couldn't save them. Since then, I made an effort to redeem myself. I help where I can. Even if you all were the only survivor's I've seen since then, I saved Lara from a walker. I tried my best to coordinate an escape plan against those men. I've failed in the past Wyatt...I have to live with that. But I don't have to repeat it. I won't repeat it." He looks over at Wyatt with a serious look in his eye, sort of awaiting a response.
Lucy had been traveling for hours now looking for shelter for the night. She never liked having to sleep outside without the cover of a roof. She was about to throw in the towel for the night and try to sleep in a tree instead, but then she heard the distant rumble of a car engine. Furrowing her eyebrows the young girl began to move towards the sound. Once she got closer she started hearing the voices. She got close enough to see the jist of what was going on. There was an RV and a group of people. She hadn't seen people in at least a month. Or at least any people that didn't try to eat your face off. Curiosity got the better of her and she began to move closer to the vehicle to observe what would happen next.
