The dead were coming closer, far too close for comfort “Aya, they are grouping up” Aya looked behind her nervously “Okay, we’ll be cornered her.” She said turning her back to the door and pointing her gun at the nearest of them, lined up the shot and then the zombie’s head exploded, but Aya hadn’t shot yet. Ut was like a sniper had taken it out for her. She looked in the direction the shots were coming from. It was very hard to see through all this rain but she could just make out a figure. “Guardian angel with a gun, huh” She muttered under her breath and four more heads turned to mush and blood in front of their eyes. Suddenly she heard a voice at the door. It was a mans voice, he sounded wary and cautious, but that wasn’t a surprise, given the world today. “Yes, that’s fair” She called back to the man inside as he layed out his ground rules for her and Megan upon entry. “We’ll drop our weapons.”
Aya waited for him to open the door. She looked around for the sniper again and pursed her lips not seeing him. Where did he go? “There!” Megan said as if reading Aya’s mind. She was good at that. It was almost creepy. Just up ahead was their angel, not wielding a machete. He had a firmer silhouette this time, and she could make out his gender and shape but no facial features. The Zombies had left her and her daughter alone now because of him. They flocked towards him
“Should we tell them there’s another man?” Megan whispered. Aya shook her head. He was coming their way now, behind her. The door would open soon, and when it did she wanted Megan to be ready as well as her “Do as he says when he lets us in Meg.” Megan nodded quietly “I know.”
