Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Brought into this world by two loving parents a week before the wedding day. Deb was raised comfortably but cautiously aware of the use of money. From an early age she was taught that hard work and determination was the key to success. This formed a rather competitive nature towards sports until her mother sat her down and explained that putting your all doesn't mean pestering others too.
As she got older the friendly girl had started to get bullied for her appearance and spitting when she laughed. These insults combined with compliments from her mothers brother and what followed them led to the tween having so much fear of the smallest things and questioning people's actions. Grades started failing, soon after she wasn't allowed to play the sports teams do to her grades. It took a lot of strength after her graduation party to confess what her uncle had done. Deb's father wanted to kill him but it was too late, Uncle had already died from an accident while drinking and driving.
After high school she took a big step in her life when she moved to Chicago to get out of her she'll that had formed in the small town life. It was a beacon of hope to remake herself without living in the town were all the badness happen. Working at a kiosk in a mall selling cinnamon which she slowly began to grow a dislike towards as the smell became intolerable and so did the extra pounds that added up. The busy young women managed to squeeze in sometime to take up kickboxing. At first she thought it would add more stress to her schedule but it helped with her anxiety and made her feel safer when alone in the apartment she was renting whenever the roommate was out.
At the age of twenty Deb was still working at the Kiosk on the weekends while on the weekdays she would work as a Massage Therapist. A job she liked a little more than the kiosk one but she never complained about either. It was at this time that she had began to actively try to date people instead of constantly living in the same old day to day thing. A close friend had tried to persuade her into trying out online dating but it only made the women nervous about all the cop shows she watched in the comfort of her sofa coming true. Until one day a man with a rather funny accent bought a cinnimen treat and striker a conversation with her. Although she did enjoy the chat, Deb wasn't sure if he was flirting or not and while overthinking if she should or shouldn't flirt back he said goodbye.
The next day the same man arrived again and rather buy a treat he simply tried again to talk with her. Deb finally made up her mind to flirt but most of her attempts came out as jokes but it did make the man laugh and even smile. After a bit she found herself feeling more relaxed with the stranger each visit learning a little more. After a while they had exchanged numbers and even hanged out and it wasn't until one night while watching a movie with Ivar did she finally ask. "Have we been dating?" His reacting made her smile as he found it rather funny and she was laughing at her own foolishness as well.
So the two dated for for two years, during which Deb moved into his place and despite helping her worry less about a burglar she still took kickboxing as a safety blanket just in case. Someone finally preposed and thus they were engaged. Deborah was ecstatic not only for the wedding in the near future but the idea of small feet on the carpet. Two weeks after telling Ivar she was pregnant Deborah unfortunately had a miscarraige. For weeks she cried over the loss and Irvan's seemingly lack of expressing grief caused her to make some angry sad outburst before feeling bad again. Time healed the wounds and she was back to smiling and being happy on the day of the wedding.
Three Years of marriage later and it was failing or at least on the tip of the ice berg. Ivar was spending longer hours at work much to her faint suspiciouns. The attempts at trying for a child had stopped on her husbands part as each attempt ended up with her in tears. Ivar went on a business trip leaving Deb to wait a bit longer for the good news in the weakening marriage. Instead she went on the computer and found something she had been hoping to not be true. The evidence of infildelity sent the soon to be mother into tears before the horrors actually came...
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Deborah was at the mall when the world went crazy. She had heard of an illness on the news but she thought the government would have it in control. The infection spread around the city of Chicago past the few days as a she zone was created in the mall restricting her from leaving for her own safety. She stayed there for under a month until the soldiers left them to fend for themselves. Deborah followed some fellow survivors before they found a relatively safe area to set up camp.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- Deborah and her traveling group of survivors made shelter in a school. They made it secure and eventually had things feeling a little more normal without a worry of the undead all the time. She stayed their until giving birth to her son Isaac. All the preparation and excitement for finally becoming a mother was short lived as she held her baby for only a few hours before it turned as it was a stillborn birth. After recovering emotionally from yet another loss the women left before the safe haven fell to walkers which she learned of a month later when checking on the place. She has sense then traveled aroundgoing from safe place to safe place. Sometimes on her own and with people on other occasions.
