Gender:

Appearance:

With jet black hair that's normally swept back, strands of grey hair can be seen forming in the man's hair. He has chocolate brown eyes, and has a short stature. His face is fairly clean, with only a stubble formed on his face. He carries himself in an almost rigid manner and wears a set of scuffed up and dirty business attire that he brought with him when he came for a business trip--though the sleeves are rolled up. He carries himself in a pretty uptight manner and while he has been in the United States for three years now it is clear that he's a foreigner stuck in a foreign place.

List 3 strengths:
-
Fatherly figure, while Daisuke has had trouble with his children (mainly his son), he will do anything to protect them and can be seen as someone to be looked up to as being a decent father in this world.
-
Resourceful and detail minded, coming from a life of business, Daisuke has a good sense of details and keeping track of big picture things. He's no leader, but he would make a good analytical or resource manager.
-
Athletic, while he's not a legend or a star. He did try to keep up his body during what little free time he had. He's able to swing a baseball bat pretty well and could run decent enough. He would make a decent supply runner.
List 3 flaws:
-
English is a second language, thus he has a hard time communicating with others.
-
No Sense of Direction, due to being stuck in a foreign country and due to the language barrier he has a hard time calculating where he is.
-
Ritualistic, if something works for him he will continue to do it--even if there is a better or safer way to do things, and he often has a habit of lacking the ability to see that.
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-
Daisuke lived like many men in Japan did, the life of a Salaryman. His life consisted of fourteen hour shifts five to six days a week and barely saw his family at all. He was a medium ranking member in a decent size business that operated in Japan and the United States. He loved his family, but knew that in order to achieve success and the societal pressures placed on men, he chose to work. This had a big effect on his relationship with his kids, and most importantly his son.
The relationship between Daisuke and his sun Daiki was rocky at best, and Daiki resented his Dad for his long hours--unknowing that his father was doing it because he loved his son. The relationship with his daughter was good, though with his long hours it often felt as if he was slowly watching her grow up from the sideline. He wanted to make things right so he decided that he was going to try and scale back his hours and possibly move his family to the United States where he could have less pressure to work.
Before the Outbreak, Daisuke took his son and daughter with him to visit New York City after a business meeting. Everything was going well and he had gotten word that he would be transferred to the states to work. This was the first quality time that he had with his children, and his wife was set to arrive in the United States the next day--unknowing that everything would fall apart after that.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-
Things were hectic for the foreigner and his two children. They tried desperately to get a hold of his wife, and the status of her flight. The last that they heard was that she had landed in California, but her connecting flight was cancelled. He tried to keep contact with her, but shortly the phone system went out.
The rest of the day was spent attempting to flee the city with his daughter and son and they found themselves stuck on the highway. Using their feet they made their way off of the highway and into the rural countryside where they camped out with a few other family members.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-
Daisuke and his son and daughter have bounced around between groups for the three years since the outbreak. He's attempting to make it west in hopes of finding his wife and hasn't let go of hope. Travel has been slow and it seems that groups seem to slow him and his children down more than anything. They have tried their best to avoid contact with major groups and have mostly been solo for the most part.
In the free time that they do have Daisuke has been trying to learn and teach his children English. They are currently somewhere in the midwest and plan to continue traveling to the west to find his wife or find the fate of her. He will do anything to find her. He feels terrible for all the time he wasted before the apocalypse and now he will do anything to prevent them from not being a family again.
