"hopefully it isn't a far walk." Aiden say. "I'm so beat, and sleeping in a bed, even a hotel bed, sounds amazing right now." He'd been sleeping on the ground, on the floor, cramped in closets and cars so a soft bed would bed such an improvement. Plus if the hotel was multiple floors it would be a good vantage point to see the island and what it had to offer and how over run the surrounding area was. Plus they may find hidden gems stashed in the place.
"A hotel could be a blessing. Rooms hole up in, good vantage point and all that." Aiden looked at Raphael and his blonde hair tumbled into his face. "We'll have to be really careful though, it could be totally over run. Even tho I may not want to we may have to fight when we get there." he said. "You gonna be ok doin that?" he asked, the episode Raph had still in hte front of his mind.
Ghost walked quickly by Aiden, still not straying far. He was exhausted but didn't dare stop until his human gave the command to do so. He was alert still listening and looking around with his mismatched eyes.

Raphael looked at him as spoke, saying that he hoped it wouldn’t be too far. “I think if we keep this pace up, we should reach it by night.” He spoke calmly. He looked at Aiden as he spoke about how wonderful a bed would be. “I know right, would be so good.” He replied. Part of him hoped he could finally spend a night in a room with someone else, for him sleeping or at least trying to fall asleep was the most horrible time, with the voices and visions, probably because reality and dreams sort off started to mix with each other. He hoped being near someone else would help, so he had his fingers crossed for rooms with double beds.
He nodded as Aiden said an hotel could be a blessing and nodded once more as he said they had to be careful. “Yes we’ll have to keep each other safe.” He spoke. It was then Aiden said that there was a possibility they had to fight and asked if he would be able to. Just as he was about the answer the voice squeezed through. “No he won’t, he’ll let you die.” She spoke. Raphael swallowed and cleared his throat, while trying to ignore her. “Yes don’t worry.” He spoke. “What happened earlier won’t happen again.” He added with a smile and wink. "Euhm yes it will, want me to show you?" the voice asked.
Hearing her again made him think again about the sleeping part, he had to let Aiden know, he wanted a room together. He thought of how not to make it weird, when it finally hit him. “We’ll have to be very cautious though, even at night, if people see a hotel they go check it out, but it aren’t always nice people, so I don’t want us to split up during the night, that’s dangerous.” He spoke. “So I say, when we cleared the hotel, we search for a room with double beds….” Then he paused. “Or even share a big bed, if we really have to.” He added feeling uneasy saying it. Not that Aiden wasn’t a pretty boy, it wasn’t because he was a guy, cause Raphael was into guys, but sleeping with another person had been for so long, he didn’t even remembered what affection and love felt like, let alone sex or other stuff, so it was the last thing that crossed his mind, which probably caused the uneasiness. “Do you agree?” he asked slightly worried about his reaction, since he already felt uneasy he couldn’t only guess Aiden felt that too, especially if he was straight. “Fairy.” The voice yelled laughing.
Raphael bit his teeth and closed his eyes trying once more to ignore her voice. Slowly opening them still awaiting Aiden his answer, while looking at how ghost was doing. “Keep it up buddy, you can do it.” He said smiling.
Aiden nodded as his companion spoke. "It would be best to stick together, and should we have to share a bed, be warned Ghost is a bed hog." he chuckled as they moved along. "he wont sleep unless he's in bed with my. The big baby." Aiden smirked and reached down the give the dog a pet on his big block head. Aiden was equal opportunity and didn't mind sharing a bed with another man. Despite the grime of the apocalypse the stained both of them and their clothes Raph was an attractive man. So Aiden really didn't mind. But he would be cautious still. He barely knew him. But that's where Ghost came in. He was protective of his human. He would kill a man to save Aiden.
But Aiden also knew the value of staying in a group. An extra set of eyes and ears was never a bad idea when it came to the walkers. It would sometimes mean the difference between life and death and being able to be ready to fight or run. He also wouldn't mind a human companion who could talk. He was awkward when it came to certain things. Mainly interacting with other people. He was great with animals, but terrible with people. Aiden's cheeks colored pink thinking back to that last comment he made about sharing a bed. "I'm sorry if that came out weird..." he mumbled and rubbed the back of his neck with a slender hand. A small nervous laugh escaped him.
Ghost padded forward after his quick pat on the head. He could smell something. Not the dead, but people. But it was a very old smell. Not a fresh one. What he was smelling in the distance was the hotel Raph had mentioned. They were getting closer.

Raphael chuckled as Aiden said the dog had to be in bed and then he kept his smile up, he was glad Aiden didn’t make a point of sharing a bed. “Glad we agree.” He replied with a smile. He watched him pet the dog and all he could do was smile. It had been a long time ago since he was able to smile for that long, Aiden and Ghost just made everything more pleasant.
Raphael noticed the blush on Aiden his cheeks as he apologized in case the part of the bed came out wrong. “No need to apologize, it’s all good.” He said giving him a small wink. Raphael wondered why he blushed, was Aiden feeling guilty for giving wrong signals and blushed because it was awkward, was he just shy, did he think Raphael was attractive and was that why he was blushing, was he afraid of sleeping close to anyone? All those questions that went through Raph his head. “If you think anyone would love you or even do more to you then just share a bed, you reached a new level of being stupid.” The female voice spoke.
Raphael closed his eyes for a short moment, replying to the voice in his mind. ‘You are not even real, leave me alone.’ He thought. It was the first time he stayed so calm when replying to the voice, being around people had always been the best medicine for his psychological problems, well that an actual pills, but at least it was a step in the right direction.
Raphael then focused on the dog, he saw how go a little more forward. “What is up with our little friend?” he asked looking at Aiden.
Aiden was glad Raph didn't say anything about his blush. It made him a little more at ease. He was awkward enough on his own and was glad he wasn't pressed for information and would just make him stumble all over himself. He was shy and uncomfortable before getting to really know someone. Which wasn't often. The person he was closest to had been his mother, the only other creature he spent a lot of time with and knew was Ghost. Maybe it was an opportunity for him to finally have a real friend. A human one anyway. But for now he wanted to play it safe.
"He smells something." Aiden said simply. "I don't know what though. If it were a deer or something he'd be stalking it, if it were a human he'd have stopped walking and signaled to me. If it were walkers he'd signal that as well." He said with a small shrug. "For now, whatever it is, it's not going to shoot or eat us." Aiden smirked.
Ghost just continued on his slow walk, slightly out front of the two young men. He just padded along always listening. Always trying to protect his human.
Post by Raphael Castro on Apr 6, 2016 19:09:56 GMT -5
Raphael listened as Aiden explained the different things Ghost would do, while smelling something. “Well you taught him well.” He said with a smile. “It’s a good thing it’s not something bad, something that is trying to eat us, we might be able to handle, something that is trying to shoot us, a whole lot harder.” He spoke.
Raph didn’t feel so tense as he used to be around other people, something about Aiden made him feel relaxed. “So tell me a bit more about you, how you survived, stuff like that.” He spoke. “Only if you want to share though.” He added. Then he chuckled “Since we might be sharing a bed, it’s only normal I want to get to know you.” He joked.
It had been so long since he had been able to joke about things. Life hadn’t been easy n him, the apocalypse took everything away, as it did for most people. But for Raphael it was worse, he had mental problems, which he now needed to fight without the medication, without the people helping him, without the quiet cozy environment, yes it was and institution for people with mental problems, but it gave his mind the rest it needed.
As he waited for an answer, he was getting worried. ‘What if Aiden asks about my past, what do I tell him? That I’m crazy?’ he thought. “Yes then you kill him.” The voice spoke. ‘Get out.’ He spoke inside his mind, making sure he wasn’t making any weird facial expressions.
Aiden kept a steady pace as he listened to Raphael. "Well before shit went south, I lived with my parents. Dad was a piece of shit, mom was an angel." he said before taking a sharp breath. He missed his mother dearly."I worked in a petstore and did art on the side. No friends, except Ghost." He added eyes locking on the dog ahead of him. "My parents died during the outbreak. I've just been wandering since. Doing what ever I can living day to day. I've been with groups before but most of the people were awful. I've been jumped and robbed, beaten." Aiden said, kicking a small stone around now as he spoke. He wasn't accustomed to talking about himself.
"After that I prefer to just keep it to me and Ghost when I could. I'm not the best with other people. Even before things went bad I stayed to myself." He shrugged. "What about you?" He asked in return to his dark haired friend.
Ghost wandered back to the young men. He bounced beside Raph and whined playfully at him. He was hungry and hoping his new friend had a treat. He wagged his tail happily waiting.
"He seems to like you for some reason." Aiden laughed. "He also thinks you have food for whatever reason. We're both hungry. I hope we can find a stash of food in this hotel. If we ever get there." He said his stomach echoing his sentiments with a well timed growl.

Raphael listened as Aiden explained his past. Aiden called his own mother an angel, he couldn’t understand how that would feel, since his mother was the personification of satan. He also heard the part about how Aiden his dad was a piece of shit. “Sorry to hear, you dad was a jerk.” He said in a sort of sad tone, trying to show he really cared, even thought they were strangers.
He listened as Aiden said he worked at a pet store and art on the side. It made him smile “Wow, sound amazing, pet store, must have been awesome?” he asked. “And art, really, explain?” he added. The part where he said he had no friends, cut through Raphael his heart, cause he could relate. So before getting an answer on his previous question, he started talking. “Again feel sorry, I can relate though, I mean about the not having friend part.” He said in a sad tone.
He also heard Aiden his parents died during outbreak. “Sorry about, you parents too.” He said slowly giving him a shoulder pat. Then he listened as Aiden said he wasn’t good around other people. “Again I can relate, I suck around other people, bright side is, if you want to, I will be your friend, since we both aren’t great around people, we might as well try, since we know how the other feels, or at least almost. ” He said with just a little smile. “Hahaha, you will never have friends.” The voice said. Raphael nearly wanted to put his fingers in his ears, so the voice would go away, but he knew it wouldn’t help, since it was in his head.
Then the question Raphael was so afraid of came, Aiden asked about his past. Sweat formed on his forehead and he was panicking, breathing heavily. “Yes Raph, tell him about me, tell him how crazy you are.” He did his best to try and get the voice to stop. Lucky for him Ghost started jumping and whining, which made him snap out of it, since the attention from the what about you was drawn away.
Aiden said Ghost liked him and how the dog was hoping Raphael had a threat. “I’m glad he likes me, he’s really cute, but I’m going to have to disappoint him, I have nothing left.” He spoke, looking a bit sad at the dog. “I’m sorry buddy, I have nothing.” He said stopping to softly scratch behind his ears, before walking again. He nodded as Aiden said he hoped there was food at the hotel. “Yeah let’s hope, but I think we have a good chance.” He said with a smile.
Then it got quiet again, Raphael knew he still needed to answer the what about you part, he was still trying to figure out of he was going to lie or tell the truth. He was afraid to lie, since he sucked at it, but the truth was even worse. He felt the panic coming back, but then as if it was a gift from heaven he saw the hotel and in the far distance “Oh, look, we are getting there.” He said enthusiastic. “Remind me later on, once we cleared the hotel the tell you about me, for now I think if it’s ok with you, we speed up a little, so we got more time to clear it.” He added. Raphael hoped Aiden would agree, that way he dodged the bullet for now.
Aiden nodded as Raph spoke, talking about he didn't have friends either. So I'm not the only weirdo that never made friends. Well we at least have a few things in common. He may not be that bad of a person. Just lonely like me. He thought to himself. I need to keep the fact that I killed my own father to myself. He doesn't need to know that. He'll think I'm totally insane. He also thought.
Ghost was disappointed and whined that the newcomer had no food for him. He wandered back to Aiden who just chuckled at the dog and pulled a small stale biscuit for his friend to crunch on while he walked. Aiden started to walk a little as Raph pointed out that the hotel was very close. "Thank god it's right there. I'm so tired and a roof and walls sounds so amazing. Not to mention the bed." He said with a genuine smile. He hadn't even noticed that the conversation about Raphael had been derailed.
"We'll have to work together to stay safe in there. There's probably a ton of walkers." He said to Raphael. "We shouldn't use guns. We'll get swarmed. And it's a tight space in the halls. We don't need an accidents" He added just trying to think a head. He knew it could go south fast in tight spaces. "We can probably just start with a hallway so we can rest for the night safely." He said thinking out loud. "Then search the building when we're better rested." Aiden added. "Ghost stay close buddy." He said looking at the dog. "The walkers can hurt you worse then people can." Aiden pat his best friends big blocky head.
"Ghost will listen to my commands even if we get jumped by walkers or people. But try to keep in front of him. If walkers get their disgusting claws on him he's a goner. And I don't know if I can go on without him. He's always there for me so I can't fail him." Aiden said tears starting to form slightly in his eyes. The dog has been his only friend. But he realized he was about to cry in front of this guy. He didn't want to look too soft and was embarrassed. He cleared his throat loud. "Anyway...." he said rubbing his arm. "Any ideas on how to go about clearing the building and checking it out?" He added trying to quickly change the topic.

Raphael felt a bit sad as the dog whined and walked back to Aiden. “I’m sorry boy.” He said while sort of pouting. Raphael nodded as Aiden reacted to the hotel, telling how amazing walls, a roof and a bed sounded. “Totally agreed.” He replied smiling, while inside he let out a sigh of relief, when Aiden didn’t even ask about him anymore.
He nodded as Aiden said they had to work together. “Again agreed.” He replied with a smile. He then nodded as Aiden spoke about not using guns. “I’m better in close combat, if I do say so myself, so once more agreed on the no guns.” He spoke. “Like you said we don’t want draw ore then we can handle.” He added. He listened to how Aiden saw the plan, but he had a better idea. “Well we could do that, or we could clear the hall, followed by a room.” He spoke. “Then once the room is cleared, we can block the door and sleep safe at night.” He added. “Then the next day, when we are rested we’ll do the rest like you said.” He spoke with a smile.
Then he listened as Aiden asked to protect his dog and expressed how he loved the animal. Raphael totally understood his point, hell he even got attached to the dog and he knew him for what? 4 hours? He also heard Aiden got slightly emotional, he tried to hide it from Raphael, but Raph himself was a master in hiding his true feelings, so even a small crack in a voice could give it away. He let Aiden finish and noticed how he had pushed down the sadness, before asking Raphael how they best could clear the building.
He stepped closer to Aiden and softly laid an arm around him, while patting his back. “Hey, first of all, it’s alright, we’ll keep him safe, you have two friends to count on from now on.” Raphael said with a smile. “Weakling!” the voice yelled. It caused Raphael to turn his head away from Aiden and close his eyes. ‘Go away, you are not real.’ He thought. “Your friend will die, the stupid dog will die and hopefully you will die, just give up, haha.” The voice spoke. ‘No, please no.’ Raphael said inside his mind.
He then opened his eyes and felt a tear ran down his face. The thought of people dying because of him was hurting his heart. Raphael barely knew Aiden or Ghost, but people helped him get better, so the thought of losing them, was so dark. He wiped off his tear with his free hand and hoped Aiden wouldn’t notice it, after that he did his best to push the sad feelings down. “Then second, the plan.” He spoke. “I’ll go in first, followed by you, then Ghost.” He added. He cleared his throat, it was getting a bit dry and being emotional didn’t help at all. “Then we kill any walkers on our way and we slowly head for a floor with rooms, once there we get in the first room, clear it and voila.” He spoke trying to smile again. “Sounds ok?” he asked.
Aiden nodded listening to how Raphael wanted to go about clearing the building. He was bushed so less work would be better. Then he heard how Raph offered to go in first. No one had ever put them selves before him. "Sounds like a plan." he said and patted Raph back on the shoulder. He made his way quietly towards the door of the hotel. It was an emergency exit. "Do you think it still has an alarm attached to it?" He said , blue eyes locked on raph.
Aiden gave Ghost a hand signal to sit and say while he spoke with Raphael. Ghost flopped his big butt on the pavement and just stared at his little boy. He just happily wagged his tail. Aiden gave him a quick pet on the head.
Aiden pressed his ear to the door gently to see if he could hear anything. "I don't hear any moaning or shuffling." he said "But that doesn't mean anything. And if it has an alarm it'll bring in every walker for miles. The damn things are so loud." he mumbled. "Think we should try it or look for another door or window?"
Post by Raphael Castro on May 8, 2016 23:47:45 GMT -5
Raphael felt how Aiden patted his shoulder, it was weird, it had been so long since he had felt someone touch him, even something as dumb as a shoulder pat, but it made him smiel and it felt good. He just smiled and winked at Aiden as the boy said it was a good plan, before he turned around and focused again, ready to clear the place.
Raphael was just about to open the door as he was stopped by Aiden his voice. He heard how he was worried that there would still be an alarm attached to it. “I think it’s long gone by now, if not it will lure them all to this door and we search and entrance on the other side of the hotel.” He spoke with a little smile. “Oh, so you do have brains?” the voice of his mother spoke. He ignored her completely and it was getting easier, which made him smile again.
He then watched Aiden as he pressed his ear to the door. Before Raphael knew it he was checking him out and had to admit the boy actually looked great. He shook his head and knew this wasn’t the time he had to focus, but he couldn’t help but slightly blush. He forgot how it was to love someone, so checking someone out was a good start. ‘Why would he even have a small interest in such a loser like you!’ He thought. Raphael had a pretty low self-esteem, but meeting new friends, could maybe help with that, so meeting Aiden was a good start.
He heard how Aiden said that there were no hearable moans or groans. That sentence brought Raphael back to earth and made him remember he had to focus now. Raphael shook his head as he asked for searching for a window of different door. “No it will be alright, stick to the previous plan, no alarm, we go in and start clearing and searching a room, alarm, we run and find an entrance at the other side, since walkers will be drawn to the alarm.” He spoke with a smile.
Then Raphael stepped forward. “Here we go.” He spoke. Then he softly opened the door. “Trrrrrriiiiinng.” The female voice yelled. Raphael jumped a little backwards, but then noticed it was just the voice in his head. He figured Aiden saw it. “Just out of precaution.” He spoke with a nervous smile. “So awesome, no alarm.” He added.
He slowly stepped forward inside and looked around. He didn’t see any walkers, but he was still careful. “Ok let’s search for a room.” He spoke. “Looks clear for now.” He added.
Aiden flinched when Raphael jumped back. "Better safe then sorry right?" he said softly. He watched as the young man before him stepped into the hall. "Ghost, behind" he ordered in a quiet but firm voice.
The dog slunk behind Aiden his nose on the back of his pants. He walked with little sound tight on his human's heels. He knew he had to be alert and ready. He'd do anything for Aiden. His muscles were tight. He could smell the stench of walkers. They weren't in this hallway but they were here.
AIden walked close to Raph and leaned in very close to him. "Ghost is rigid as a board, somethings here. Maybe not this hall, but they're here." he said in Raph's Ear. He didn't want to bring the creatures towards them if he could avoid it. He stood like that for a few seconds and waited for a response but then realized how close he was to him. How close to his ear and neck he was. He felt the heat rise in his face and knew he had to be red. Don't do this, not now.....He thought to himself. Don't get distracted, it'll get all of you killed.
It had been a very long time since Aiden had been with...anyone. Despite being a cautious person he was also lonely. He was also a young man, and had the brain of one as well. So it would lead to certain thoughts and distractions. He tried to shrug it off. Think about it later you dumb horny bastard. Worry about finding a safe place to sleep. And food. That's more important then checking out a guy you just met. He scolded himself silently.
He took a few quick, but quiet, steps forward to try and hide the red tint of his face. Ever faithful Ghost was right on his heels.

Raphael was glad that Aiden didn’t question, that he jumped back out of precaution. “Yes better safe than sorry.” He said with a wink. He heard how Aiden ordered the dog to go behind him. “Keep him close, I don’t trust this.” He spoke. “But I won’t let anyone harm either of you.” He added. It was strange to see how fast people could bond during these dark days, for Raphael it was only normal, whenever he found someone that was nice to him, he immediately cared for that person.
“They will eat you and your friend hahaha.” The voice said. But Raphael didn’t flinch, he just ignored her. They softly made their way through the hall, Raphael stopped to look around as he felt Aiden get close to him. He leaned in from behind him, placing his mouth at Raph his ear and told him walkers where somewhere in this building, according to Ghost. His warm breath and just the feeling of someone close after all this time, felt great for Raphael. Besides Aiden was very good looking and very sweet, which made the feeling even stronger. For a brief moment it even send a tingle down in his pants. But he shook his head he knew he had to focus to keep them safe and he also figured Aiden was out of his league.
After standing still and staying quiet, while looking around, Raphael turned around. He was surprised to see Aiden had sort of red cheeks, there was still a bit daylight shinign in, so it was easy to see, or was this it his imagination. It gave him a slight sparkle of hope that the red cheeks came from leaning in, but he knew the chance was very little. So the thing that caused it was probably medical, which made Raphael worried. Aiden was still very close to him, so this time he leaned in to place his mouth next to Aiden his ear, also to make sure the sound wouldn’t alert walkers. “Are you ok, you feeling alright, you have red cheeks, fever?” he asked worried before backing out and making eye contact. He then leaned forward again. “Like I said, we search one room, clear it, barricade it and to the rest tomorrow after we took a rest.” Raphael spoke. “So don’t worry about the walkers that Ghost feels, we’ll get them tomorrow.” He added, staying close to listen to his answer.
Leaning in so close to Aiden, caused the special feeling to come back. Deep down Raphael knew the chances where small that a guy he just met, would be gay and then even into him. Raph himself even thought it was way too early to see him like that, since they just met, but being single so long, made sure he forgot about just meeting him. He also felt bad for not telling the truth, not telling him about the voices in his head, but he was so glad to be around someone so sweet and good looking, he was sure this whole being around someone would cause the voices to disappear. All this went though Raph his mind as he waited for Aiden to answer him.
"It's warm in tight in these halls." Aiden said to Raph after he questioned the redness in his face. There was junk everywhere from people panicing when things went bad. "It makes me nervous knowing those things are close by." He added trying to cover for the fact that he had been so distracted by Raphael.
"let's hurry up and find somewhere to board off and rest for the day." Aiden said softly, turning a little more red at the closeness of Raph to his ear and neck. He felt his heart rate pick up as well.
Ghost noticed the closeness of the two young men and pushed between them and huffed in Raph's direction. Aiden was his human, he didn't like anyone else that close. He'd seen Aiden's father hurt him one to many times to want anyone near him at all. His body was rigid and his tail stiff with his ears back. He didn't smell any of the flesh eaters too close so he raised the hair along his spine at Raph to make a final point.
"Ghost, back!" Aiden said in a hushed hiss at the dog. "What's wrong with you!" he added as he pushed Ghost's head away from Raphael. "I think he's jealous...." he said to Raph softly. "We need to get moving so he has something else to focus on." He said starting to move quietly forward. He started to push on doors to find unlocked ones to avoid as much noise as possible. Finally he heard the soft click of an unlocked latch opening. "Get ready, and remember no guns...." he said pulling his bat loose from it's holster under his back pack.
Post by Raphael Castro on Jun 4, 2016 23:36:12 GMT -5
Raphael nodded as Aiden explained why he was so red. Raph understood it could be the halls and the walkers that made him nervous, so he decided to try and make him feel safe. He leaned in a little closer again, his lips near Aiden his ear. “Don’t worry, I’m here to keep you safe.” He said. Aiden then spoke about hurrying and finding a place to sleep. Raphael backed out and nodded with a smile.
Just then as Raphael wanted to turn around to go on, Ghost jumped in between them. His ears back, hair raised and not looking happy. Raphael was shocked and stepped back, while looking at the dog with fear. “See even the dog doesn’t like you, hahaha.” The voice spoke. “Leave me alone.” Raphael spoke softly with fear in his voice. It was meant for the voice, he was so shocked aobut the dog, that he didn’t even found the courage to fight off the voice, but lucky for him, Aiden could also see it like he said it to the dog. Aiden then called the dog back asking what was wrong with him then explained to Raphael he might be jealous.
Raphael blinked a couple times to get out of his fear trance and managed to force a little smile. He was so dazzled that he even forgot to ask him, why the dog would be jealous. Instead he just went on, following them, while keeping an eye on them both while Aiden checked the doors. Most of them where locked or had noises coming from them, until both of them heard a click. Aiden reminded Raphael again to use no guns, he just nodded in reply. Then he realized Aiden shouldn’t go first, so he placed a hand on his shoulder and very gently pulled him back. “I’ll go first.” He whispered.
He raised his knife and softly pushed the door open. He slowly walked inside, scanning the area. The main room, with the king-sized bed, seemed alright. Well alright wasn’t the right word, it looked like a fight had taken place and there were some bloodstains on the wall. It all looked a bit filthy, not exactly cozy, but then again, what did these days, besides at least they had a decent bed to sleep in. Maybe it looked nicer in full daylight, it was dawn by now, so the light that came through the windows wasn’t much. “It’s clear, but I still need to check the bathroom.” He whispered softly.
Raphael stepped forward, making his way to the only door in the room, besides the one they used to enter. He figured it had to be a bathroom, like in most hotels. His hand reached the knob, turned it and he carefully pulled open the door. It was very dark in the bathroom, Raphael couldn’t see a thing, probably because there wasn’t a window. “So dark, I think I might need a fla….” But before he could finish his sentence a walker stepped forward. Raphael struggled and was able to push him back, immediately stabbing it in the head after. Sweat dripped from his forehead and he sighed in relief. “Too close.” He spoke looking at Aiden, while trying to catch his breath.
Raphael then grabbed his flashlight from his backpack, before tossing the backpack at the wall. He shined inside the bathroom and didn’t see any more walkers. He did see some bloodstains again, a broken toilet and some glass on the floor, probably from a broken mirror. “Clear too.” He spoke looking at Aiden. He then walked to a wall and leaned against it with his back, before slowly lowering himself, so he was now sitting down. “I’ll barricade the door in a bit, just need to catch my breath, that walker took me off guard.” He spoke while trying to smile at Aiden. Raphael used to have walkers has friends, so he was never scared of them, he was glad that nearly getting a bite, gave him a wakeup call, so now he knew they were bad and he needed to watch out, but still he wasn’t afraid of them, the only thing that changed was that he didn’t see them as friends anymore. Which was good, this meant his mental illness was pushed down, he knew the only thing that was still there was the voice, but he was sure being around Aiden and Ghost would help.
A shiver went down his spine hearing his travel companion speak that close to his neck and ear. He just nodded response because he knew his voice would fail him. He watched as Raphael went into the room and said clear. Tho when he opened the door and the walker almost nailed Raph he made a small yelp and stumbled backwards, tripping a little over Ghost. He banged his sore side against the door handle and hissed in pain.
Ghost whined and pawed at Aiden when he cried out in pain and tried jumping up to lick his dirty face. He wagged his tail low and kept licking his human.
"Down, your hurting me worse." he murmured at the dog who promptly laid on the floor. "I'll get the walker out while you rest." he said, hand on his bruised side. He stepped forward and hitched his hands under the walkers armpits. "Damn you were a lard ass..." he mumbled as he pulled the dead creature forward and out the door. It reeked, he didn't want to sleep in the same room as it. After he got in the hall he proceeded to vomit next to it before walking back in the room. "He must have been dead since the start with the way it smelled." he said with a small chuckle to try and cover the fact he just puked his guts up.
He looked around the room searching for anything to barricade the door with. There was a dresser in the room still. "That'll do" he sighed. He walked over and started to push it in front of the door. Ghost joined in the effort. He put his front paws on the top of the dresser and wagged his tail as he walked with Aiden as he pushed. It didn't much good for Aiden accept give him a smile.
"safe, at least for the night." Aiden sighed as he sank to the floor. Ghost flopped down next to him panted his big tongue lolling out his big jaws.

Raphael looked at Aiden as he told Ghost to get away, seemed like Aiden hurt himself. “You ok?” he asked worried. “I didn’t see anything, since I was fighting that thing.” He spoke looking at the walker. He shook his head as Aiden said he would get the walker outside. “No, I’ll do it, you are hurt.” He added. But before he could even could get up, Aiden was already busy. He was glad the body was gone though, the stench was horrible. He could hear how Aiden puked once outside of the room, he felt bad for him, he should have done it, his stomach was clearly stronger.
But Raphael had no energy left and the fight only made it worse. He watched Aiden as he got back in and nodded as he spoke about the walker. “Yeah, that smell, just yuk.” He replied. “You ok though?” he asked once more worried. “I heard you, like I said I should have done it, my stomach is stronger.” He added, feeling sorry for Aiden. “So sorry for not getting him out.” He added. Raphael had grown so soft, when the apocalypse started he killed everything that moved, look at him now, but in a way this side of him was way better, it meant his mental problems where healing.
Then he chuckled as Aiden tried to barricade the door with a dresser. It wasn’t Aiden who was funny though, but Ghost trying to help. “Wait, just give me an extra minute I’ll help.” He spoke. But just then Aiden was able to push the dresser in front of the door. Raphael gave him a thumbs up. “Good job.” He spoke with a wink.
He nodded when Aiden said they were safe for the night and smiled at Ghost. Raphael then grabbed his backpack next to him. “Yup safe, but not done yet.” He spoke. “Let me take care of that bruise.” He spoke. “I have some painkillers and salve.” He added. “Plus we can search the hotel, for some cold packs tomorrow.” He spoke with a little smile. “I will fix you up.” He added while winking. Raphael then searched his bag, grabbed his last bottle of water, followed by the slave and the painkillers.
He got up and walked over to Aiden, slowly kneeling in front of him and Ghost. He was still afraid of Ghost after what happen, so he felt like he needed to win his trust back. He softly pointed his hand in Ghost his direction, he was shaking a bit, but let the dog sniff, before slowly petting him. “I’m going to help your boss, so please don’t be angry.” He said still petting.
Then he turned to Aiden. “Could you….” He paused as he slightly blushed. “Euhm… like get….your shirt off?” he asked. “So I can put the slave on the bruise?” he asked softly. It was all weird, it had been long since Raphael felt like this, but of course he wasn’t giving in fully, he didn’t knew Aiden yet, no clue if he was into men too, into him, so he pushed his weird feelings away, he didn’t want his heart to be broken again, he had to find out more about him first, before he would even try. But still this moment had this special vibe, also no voices in his head, it was all good.
"I'm ok, just bruised from wacking into the car earlier and smacking into the door just now." Aiden said. "I'll probably just be sore for a few days." he added as Raph came over to his side. He watched how careful he was around Ghost now. "I'm sorry he was so rude to you earlier in the hall. He's not used to people being kind. Whenever a man got close to me like that it was usually my dad beating the shit out of me." he shrugged and looked at the floor. "Just move slow and it should be fine." Aiden said quietly, his mind going to all the flash backs of growing up. The regular beatings he got all hte bruises he covered up.
Ghost laid still as Raphael pet him, but watched the young man like a hawk, his mismatched eyes never leaving him. His tail did not wag this time, he was in guard dog mode. He wasn't ready to drop the act just yet.
Aiden was brought back to reality when he was asked to remove his shirt, "I...can.." he said softly, face coloring, before clumsily tugging the shirt over his head. He winced as he stretched the muscles over his left ribs. Marring his pale flash was a dark purple and black brusie about the size of a soft ball with a bit of a welt. "I've had worse." Aiden said sheepishly while rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. He hadn't had any clothes off in front of well... anyone in he didn't even know how long. He was also dirty and skin on bones with little muscle tone from lack of proper nutrition. He used to be thin, but he was also fit before the zombie d-day hit. "Let's make this quick." he said his eyes still on the floor. "I want to crack a window and get some of the smell out of here. It's awful and may make me puke again."

Raphael heard how Aiden said he was fine, but he didn’t believe it, whether he liked it or not, he was going to treat the bruise. Raphael then heard how he apologized for Ghost his behavior, he didn’t like what the dog did at all, but then he heard the reason why he did it. It broke his heart when Aiden said his dad beat him. It also made him feel closer to Aiden, since Raphael had a rough past too. But that past would stay hidden for now, cause Raphael had no idea how Aiden would react. “He deserved to be beaten!” the voice yelled.
Raphael closed his eyes and cleared his throat, trying not to yell back, cause hearing that made him angry. He opened them and softly laid his hand on Aiden his arm. “I’m sorry to hear that.” He spoke calm, with a sad look on his face, while giving his arm a slight rub, before letting go. “But the past is in the past, walkers aren’t great, but hey, I’m here to help you.” He spoke with a slight smile.
Raphael blushed even more when he saw Aiden taking of his shirt. ‘Thank god it’s dark in here.’ He thought, while being ashamed of himself, how could he be checking him out, while he actually needed to treat his bruise. But the urge to look at his body was bigger, it didn’t look bad at all. A bit dirty and skinny, but slightly muscular, exactly what Raphael liked. He himself tried to work out even during the apocalypse, to keep his trained body in shape and as a way to relax, back then it also calmed the voices, but he had to admit it had been awhile since he worked out.
His eyes left the guy his body, when he heard his voice. Raphael felt sad when he said he had worse, he now knew he was probably referring to the bruises from beatings, so he didn’t say anything, but looked at him with sadness in his eyes, before replying. “Well still needs to be taken care of.” He replied trying to force a little smile. Then he heard Aiden asked to make it quick so he could crack open a window, since the stench was horrible.
“Oh don’t worry, I’ll do it first, wouldn’t want you to puke in my face, while I’m putting on the salve.” Raphael joked. He then got up and walked over to one of the windows and had to fiddle a bit with the handle and use some force, but eventually got a window open. Raphael then walked back and very softy kneeled back besides Aiden, so he wouldn’t scare the dog. “It’s ok.” He spoke with a smile looking at Ghost.
He then grabbed the tube of the floor, put some in his hand, before putting it back down. His hand very slowly made his way to the bruise, before making contact. Raphael massaged the spot as softly as he could, making sure not to hurt him. He had to admit touching him felt weird at first, it had been so long since he had contact with another person. But slowly he got used to it and it felt good, he knew it wasn’t right, but it send a few waves of pleasure down to his pants, not enough, to make it seeable, but just little waves of pleasure. But not only there, he felt it in his stomach and heart too. Deep down he knew it probably didn't feel the same for Aiden, but he just wanted to enjoy this moment. As he massaged he looked into Aiden his eyes. “I hope it helps.” He spoke with a shy smile. But then he just kept massaging, while making eye contact. The locking eyes was one, because he liked it and two more important, to watch his face, so he would be certain that he didn’t hurt him.
