Jason shook Alexandria’s hand with a delicate grace. Inside, it hurt. Her name was so similar to Jason’s sister, Alexa. The past was the past, though. He had to move on. Plus, he didn’t want to kill the good moment the trio was having. They had escaped certain death, and right now, it felt good. It was a weird type of adrenaline rush that came from living through a situation where you should’ve died. Had it not been for these two, he probably would have. He was grateful. They really were a cool bunch.
Jason looked down both sides of the alleyway, point towards the one opposite of them. “I need to head back to my place. Chris, it’d be really nice if you could go back to the group and let them all know we’re ok. “ Since him and Chris were kind of close, he felt as if he was able to give Chris these kinds of options, or let him know what would be best for them since they kind of were in a group. Alexandria on the other hand had expressed no interest (At least not yet) of joining the group. She was a very capable woman, and could probably make decisions on her own. Trying to give her options of when and where to go would have been rude. So, he left it up to her to decide.
Jason just wanted to see his place again. It had been quite the number of days since he’s been back there, so checking on everything would give him a bit of closure. Especially his truck. The damn thing shorted out if it wasn’t run enough. It was a very loud hassle to get it started again, too, so he wanted to get it done sooner than later. “Chris, I’ll be bringing some food back from my place. I should be back by nightfall. “ He turned to Alexandria. “Thank you for helping us today. Without you, I don’t know if Chris and I would have come out alive. Thank you.”
