"Two houses down," Lachland said looking at Dolph, "if we'd find anything pointing to those three it will be in the last one. Andrei would be best to search it sir. He would be able to identify any items if theirs easier. There was a bike here too." Lachland looked at a single tire track, "I don't recall any of them taking an interest in bikes, or owning one. It may mean they have someone else with them."
He paced along, farther back, stopping just at another set of tire tracks. "There was another car here too, different tread. Unless the three split up and went sperately, then we are looking at more people then the three. Now I know we will find them, you did it once, you will do it again. If they went towards New Orleans then we should go that way. God will want us to find them, it is destiny."
Ivy just followed and stayed quiet. She wasn’t her normal bitchy self, that would hurt like hell, but she kept following the group. Mostly she said in the back and made sure they weren’t being followed, so she really didn’t hear what was going on up front.
As the last conversation took place she walked a little closer. She heard Lachland saying there was one house left to check and that Andrei was the one that had to search it. She really didn’t care what was going on, she just wanted to go to the castle, but of course she didn’t say that. Instead she just waited and once more looked behind to check if it was safe.

Soon after after Andrei gave what insight he could, Adolphus gave the order to search the houses, and Lachland suggested Andrei do that, since he'd be most qualified to find things pointing to Remy and the rest.
"On it!" he replied after hearing the suggestion, and hurried down to the last house. In the silence, he could hear what else Lachland had to say about the survivors. More than the three they expected, one even had a bike. Probably people who were near the settlement at the time.
Inside the cabin, the air felt enclosed, but the clutter an chaos inside suggested that someone had left here in a hurry. Figures. Andrei first opened a window to let some light and air in, and got to searching. Whilst moving through the clothes something caught his eye. A T-shirt with a bloodstain on it. Abdomen, left side. It must've been Remy's. No doubt about that. Close to that, he found one or two more, that he seemed to remember Remy wearing. Andrei's next point of investigation was the beds. He first checked the temperature of the surface. It was cold, which could only mean they had at least a few hours head start. Then, he checked the pillow which was covered with a few long, blonde hairs and a few short, dark ones. Possibly Luca's. Not much else was of interest inside, so Andrei went back to the rest.
"Well, I can confirm Remy was here. She left a few things inside that had to be hers. But they left in a hurry, so there's a lot of stuff lying around, so it's hard to tell how many there were here. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say they're headed for New Orleans."
Adolphus rubbed the bridge of his nose. How had they gotten here? How had the attack gone so poorly? How had all of his men, spare a handful, died, while the handful of people he hated most escaped once again? He sighed heavily as Andrei returned from searching the houses. Both he and Lachland were advocating heading to New Orleans. Adolphus couldn't help but snort at the situation. From Florida to Colorado to Louisiana. It was obscene, but it was more than a mere vendetta now. It was a kind of mission. If Adolphus could practice any rationality, he'd head back to Gripsholm, a fortress already fortified, and live out his days there as its ruler. They could rebuild, they could have more people. Maybe families, too. Not just bloodthirsty men. With BB gone, Adolphus could reshape the place's image. A new start, a fresh start. But Remy and Anthony were out there, and Adiolphus could not allow that. He could not.
"New Orleans is a far, but in parts of the country that are unfamiliar, people must rely on large roads. We'll follow. And we'll leave now. Were there any vehicles stored anywhere besides Bear Lake, Andrei? Lachland? Holly?"
Adolphus took a few steps forward and raised his gaze to the morning sun. Many lives, on both sides, were lost in the night. Adolphus remembered the day he approached the mansion in Miami, trying to trick the man, Anthony, about Krista's bite. How he'd shot Lilly in the leg. The journey was going to come full circle.
Lachland watched the man named Andrei go inside the last house. He knew the man as the doctor, on the other side, but yet he was here working for them now. He had travelled with both Remy and Anthony, he assumed he was their friend. So why had he turned on them? He had a certain set of skills beyond medical, is scared Lachland a little. For the man who bullshitted his way through every thing, and relied heavily on his silver tongue to get him out of situations, Andrei scared him.
When the man returned Lachland turned his attention back to the old man. It seemed that Andrei had found valuable information and confired the assumptions. Again he betrayed his comrades. It was the information Dolph wanted, yet Lachland couldn't help feeling they were being led to their deaths.
"I have my truck back near the castle," Lachland said speaking up, "there was also a big red truck, massive in size, near the lake. It was hidden, by the sniper if I'm not mistaken. It would be a valuable find, if it's not already gone. My truck could carry three people, and two in the box. As for the red truck it would carry four and two in the box. Bear Lake also had vehicles within its walls, they may still be intact. A big CIA suv, bullet proof from what I over heard."
Holly followed behind her Father. She didn't get too far from him. She was pleased Andrei noticed how she had paid attention, and gave her words validation. She glanced over at Lachland a few times. He had saved her.The cuts to her face hurt, but they had stopped bleeding. When she moved her face, the dried blood pulled , and made her wince.
She watched Andrei go into the cabin. Her father was not please when he spoke of New Orleans. Holly moved closer to him, "If that is where we have to go, to find them, then we should go." She spoke softly. Blood splatter covered the front of her shirt and jeans. She glanced at Andrei. He scared her and fascinated her. His flip, coming to them, had her curious. She liked that he killed the asshole, BB, but it bothered her. Should she trust him? Could he see through her? She had wondered that at the camp. He had been the one she worried about most. He seemed to watch and take notice of things. Her hand slipped into Dolph's, 'not alll the vehicles were destroyed, I saw the black SUV near the gate." She glanced at Andrei, then Lachland, then Ivy. Holly didn't trust Ivy, it could just be a female territory thing, but she didn't like her.

"The CIA SUV would be an option if we had fuel to spare." Andrei intervened. "The fact that it's an armoured vehicle means it ways a hell of a lot more than it should, engine is bigger, needs more gas. We barely made it to the encampment because that thing used up most of our fuel. If we're going to take main roads, chances are the vehicles there have already been picked clean. We'll need cars that use as little fuel as possible to be sure we get there." He continued to speak, looking at everyone around him, but mostly speaking to Adolphus, since it was his decision. "I doubt the remains of the encampment have much fuel left inside, but it wouldn't hurt to check. They might even have a few cars left. Mine would've been good, but the bastards stripped it for parts."
Andrei sighed, thinking about the BMW he found on the road, and muttered mostly to himself. "Fucking Americans, can't appreciate proper German engineering."
"It had to have enough fuel," Lachland spoke up again, "it was used for most of the runs. Anytime the guards left they used that. It was used recently too, to go a retrieve the Remy girl. So it has fuel, maybe not a lot, but there's fuel for it stored somewhere. The leaders used it as their personal vehicle. Where they scrapped and tore apart others, they kept that one. It would be the best fit for us. It can carry everyone here, and is bulletproof. To me sir, that seemed like a win, win."
He looked at Andrei and then Holly. "What other cars were at the lake? Where should we look for fuel efficient cars? By the time we find some they will be long gone, further away from us. Finding the perfect car will just delay us, and we need to leave now. The daylight is burning and the ones we're are after can't be far now. If we hurry we can still catch up to them.
Lachland paced as he talked, something he had always done. He stopped and looked at everyone left. "We should split up for now, send half to the Bear Lake camp, half back to the Castle. We should gather everything we can, and then head off."

Ivy waited and watched the others. After some time Andrei came out and confirmed that Remy and her group had been there. Ivy sighed, she hated when someone got away. Then she turned her attention to Dolph as he told them the plan and asked about more vehicles. Then she looked at Holly as she seemed to be up for the plan. “I agree we do what we have to.” Ivy said. It was the first time she agreed with Holly, she felt a bad connection between them. But she was the daughter of Dolph, so she had to make sure her bitchy attitude was minimal towards her. But she still hated to agree with her.
Ivy heard how Lachland spoke about what vehicles there where. “I only have my horse, I think BB had some vehicles.” She said, trying hard to not let Dolph hear her accent as usual.
Then she just listened to Andrei and Lachland as the said their opinions. “Yes sounds good to me, I volunteer to get the things from the castle.” She said as she looked from one person to another.
