The Friendship of Salem made steady progress along the coast of South Carolina. It was a tragedy that had befallen everyone aboard the ship. The New Union couldn’t stand the force of those mighty raiders and their hordes of walkers that they deployed. By the time Yusuf had made it to Gloucester his mighty City was in ruin. Thankfully Moses was hiding in the closet of their their two bedroom abode in Atlantis. Jake had managed to get back aboard the ship as Yusuf has the remaining crew which was merely McCoy who had not family left in Atlantis. For a week it was merely the four or them. Two men of youth, an older fellow, and a four year old. That was until Jake spotted a familiar redhead on the beach of Amity Island. It was Fran of course whose they saved from a small horde that followed Yusuf’s small paddle boat that had went to retrieve the thankful ginger.
What she had told them wasn’t good by any means. All of there settlements were history. Everything the worked for gone in a days distraction by a bunch of savages. This would have been more saddening if it simply didn’t show how history had its way of repeating itself. Yusuf snuck out of his bunk once his watch displayed 8:00 AM. He dressed in jeans, boots, a sweater, and lastly a thin jacket. Even while asleep Moses insisted on wearing a life jacket which Yusuf did not protest. After checking on Moses that slept beside him having dreams of good he hoped.. Yusuf made way for the top deck.
McCoy was at work checking for anything of interest on the shores. Jake wasn’t in view which meant the handsome fellow was still sleeping. It was very inappropriate timing for the mans imagination to run wild. Imagining sunlight pouring through an open window displaying the flesh of Jake.... oh what a day dream it was. “How are you?” The voice feminine making it obvious of who it belonged too. Before he could respond the redhead appeared beside him equally tired from a lack of sleep. The curse of leaders who couldn’t protect the people they had promised. “Terrible. I can’t help but wonder what happen to the others. Tayasha and Carlos. Maybe their holding out in Jaula?” He suggested with little optimism.
