Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Before the apocalypse Debra worked at a run down mental health facility. The place was in great need of repair. The walls were stained and the smell of the place gave you that faint musty smell that never quite left your nostrils after you left there. Debra didn't hate her job. In fact, she was quite fascinated by some of the case studies there. Some of the patients in the hospital were rather interesting indeed. Debra would do her best to spend one on one time with the more interesting cases. She was working in a mental health hospital for the criminally insane. Most of the people here were dangerous. That didn't scare Debra though. She still found them fascinating all the same.
Debra would preform experiments on the patients there. It wasn't like anyone gave a crap about these people here anyways. If they did, they would have put them in a better, cleaner mental health facility. No, mostly the people that came to her hospital were to far gone to be much of a problem and they were usually worthless human garbage that no one cared about. Debra would preform her little experiments on them. She would see the effects of starving people would have. She wanted if hunger could cause people to become more sane than they work. The results were discouraging and all she was really doing was torturing people for her own amusement. Debra wasn't the type of person who generally cared about the suffering of others. She only cared about her own agenda.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- On outbreak day Debra was in a panic. She wasn't usually one to panic, but outbreak day she had pushed the limits of her little games to far. She had accidentally starved a patient to death. She was the only doctor assigned to that floor of patients. The hospital was remarkably short staffed. She hadn't fed the man in weeks. He withered away and died in the corner of his cell. His crime on this world... Lighting a pre school on fire while no one was in it. Not the worst of offenses, but it certainly didn't deserve death as a punishment. I'm going to jail. Debra thought. I'm going to loose my liscene, another wild thought forced it's way into her brain. Debra stood there at the door staring at the body for the longest time. She wasn't even sure how long he had been dead but there was no mistaking the blank stare and vacant expression.
Debra moved into the cell and took his pulse just to be sure. Nope. He's dead. She bit her lip and thought about what she could do, how she could avoid charges. Then to her surprise the body moved. It's eyes moved towards her and it let out a low growl. Debra quickly moved out of the cell and locked the door. She watched as the toothpick of a man stood up and moved towards her. Something about his eyes seemed off. Something about them still seemed dead ish. Debra looked around and heard other explosions.
Checking her phone she saw a news alert that said to stay inside and lock your doors. Canniblalistic attackers were rioting in the streets. Debra didn't know how to respond to it. She just stared at her phone for a few minutes before her eyes drifted back to her apparently dead patient. His arm was through the cell window reaching for her. He was still growling and groaning. "Just what the hell is going on here?" She said quietly as the overhead siren started to go off. "Attention staff this is not a drill lock up all patients and report to the employee break room. Attention all staff... This is not a drill.." Debra looked at her dead patient once more, unsure how he had no pulse but was standing there reaching for her. She sighed wanting to know how that was possible as she ran out of the room and started heading for the break room. Someone had to have some answers to what the hel lwas going on.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
For the most part Debra has been herself. She didn't allow the world changing to changer her. Not really. Debra was still the same curious mind she had always been. She stayed for the longest time at the hopsitle until it was no longer safe. She scavenged what medical stuff might've been usefull and set off to find some other place to live. She eventually found Nelson's group in California. Or perhaps it is more likely to say that Nelson's group had found her. She was a captive at first until Nelson say the potential in her. Nelson even made her one of his top officers.
Nelson Needermyer was hell bent on finding a cure to save his dying wife. Eventually that group splintered and fell apart. Debra could see the writing on the wall long before that though, she started to slowly pack her shit and bail, long before Nelson was killed, gunned down like an animal. Debra didn't really mind. Nelson wasn't a bad guy, he certainly wasn't a good guy; but not a bad one. Debra wanted to help him find a cure for his dead wifey, even if she knew it a bat shit crazy idea she kept trying to help him despite of his crazy ideas. His group was about finding a cure to the outbreak and Debra could get on board with that. She liked science and her curiousity to work with other collected scientists was to good to pass up.
After Nelson's group fractured and fell apart, Debra found herself without a mission in life. Without a goal. She quietly took up residence in an old high school in California where she plays the principal, the head master and the librarian all rolled into one sweetly seductive sexy package. Only you don't want to be called to this prinicpal's office. Debra now just tries to keep going. She is about to run into a very strange and very creative man herself. A man named omega. Debra may have just found her new purpose in life.... Working for another twisted boss.
