Age:

Gender:
-Male
Appearance:
-Ash is unusually tall, at 6" 4". He has broad shoulders but a very narrow frame (145 lb), and even though his height can be intimidating, his gentle posture counters it. He has long, very shaggy light brown hair that curls at the ends. His hands and feet are even larger compared to the rest of his body, and along with his long hair, he has earned the name "sasquach".
His wardrobe consists of shorts and tanks on warm days, and jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts on others. But his shoes tend to stay the same (vans and converse) and he's always wearing a different hat- mainly beanies. All of his clothes tend to have a geeky theme to them.
Occupation (studies and job before the outbreak):
-Ash was studying music, theatre, and technology at Portland State University before the outbreak. He worked a part time job at a local gift shop/cafe run by his parents.
Hometown (city, state, country):
-Portland, Oregon

-Sirisha Diangelo (adopted sister, status unknown)
-Hayden Diangelo (brother, status unknown)
Weapons (currently in possession):
-Gladius
-Aluminum baseball bat
-Ruger redhawk .44 mag. revolver
-Ash found the revolver a few years before present day, and has become his ranged weapon of choice, as he enjoys the powerful feel and effectiveness. He learned about guns and trained with them, and along with his talent with machines, he has salvaged and made multiple attachments for his favorite pistol, including:
-A suppressor
-A scope/laser sight
-Multiple barrels, depending on the range
-Lots of ammo, of course
-Also carries a 9mm pistol just in case, but he rarely uses it and isn't really talented with it, unlike his experience with the .44
Items (clothing, backpacks, first-aid kits, etc...):
-Messenger bag
-Technology things (laptop, 3ds, ipod)
-Ella's ukulele
-Food, water
-First aid kit

-Whatever vehicle is avaliable at the time
List 3 or more good personality traits:
-Cheerful, looks on the bright side
-Funny, always very entertaining to be around
-Creative, talented in many forms of art (even if it may not be useful in the apocalypse)
-Caring, helps those in need
-Relentless, doesn't give up
List 3 or more bad personality traits:
-Sarcastic, can be nice but also an ass at times, humor sometimes goes too far

List 3 strengths:
-He's very smart, can work with technology very well
-Through multiple years of martial arts and fencing, he's adept with melee combat
-Music is his specialty- his voice and talent with instruments are exceptional, good for lifting spirits
List 3 flaws:
-Has trouble trusting people
-Though dexterous, he's overall fairly weak physically
-Has allergies to too many things to count that cloud his senses
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Ash's life before the apocalypse went through very high ups and very low downs. His mother and father divorced when he was very young, and he did not have a father figure until around his junior high years. His older siblings were not around very much, and at his place of schooling, most others simply ignored him. All of this made him very...lonely. But when people weren't there for him, he made himself happy through his talents. He taught himself multiple instruments, studied theatre, wrote fiction, and much more, simply to escape from his loneliness.
His escape wait also aided by technology. The internet was an expansive world of possibilities. Video games were fictional worlds where he could be someone else. Not him. Because he was nothing.
He wasn't happy. He wasn't being bullied, nor was he hurt, but...he wasn't happy, either.
When his mother Samantha remarried to his stepfather Glenn, she started to realize her son had lost all of his emotion he had when he was younger. Samantha realized she had ignored her son for too long. So she enrolled him in a new school, a charter school. Though unsure, Ash began anew in high school.
His new school focused heavily on his loves, the arts. He became challenged like never before, learned new skills and techniques he never knew he could.
He made friends like him. Though it was rocky at first, as he did not know friendship, it blossomed into what seemed to be lifelong friendships.
There was one he met unlike the others- Ella. Ella shared his hopes and dreams, his talents and hobbies, his loves and hates. He never thought he would have such a strong bond with anyone before. Through their high school years, they shared experiences, shared their love, and loved each other. Whether it be the concerts they took each other to, the times they sang together, or the instruments they taught each other, it was songs that they shared the most.
As any teenager, he felt stress. All of the expectation he had built up, but then he met it. A question he still asks today, is...does he deserve this, or did he deserve it?
Once he became an adult, he asked her to marry her- she said yes. He studied music and technology at Portland State Universary, hoping to write music, or be a coder/designer if need be. Unfortunately, those dreams would soon fall apart.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-Ash had a surprise for Ella- it was her birthday, after all.
A couple months before, Ella's ukulele was lost- an instrument they loved to share. But with rent and college, she couldn't afford another. Ash called his dad (a woodworker) after a while, and asked if he could assist Ash in making one.
It was a cherry wood uke with nylon strings and silver trim, and the part that took that took the most money, two small emeralds embedded into the body. They shared the same birthstone, the emerald, and it represents love.
It wasn't perfect, but he was proud of it.
He intended to meet her by the Willamette river, a beautiful view where they had played so many times before. He put her gift in his shoulder bag and went to meet her.
They sat and talked for a long, long time. About everything they could think of. Their thoughts and feelings. They embraced the whole time.
But when he was ready to present her gift, there was a scream from behind them. They turned in the direction of the trail to see a woman writhing and screaming on the ground in pain. They ran to assist her, but something was... wrong with her. Her eyes were wild and her skin seemed to be...rotting away. The woman lashed at them, but they ran.
Their phones rang; their parents were telling them to get home. As soon as possible. They were watching the news, and something was horribly wrong.
He didn't feel like it was right to give her a gift right now, but they embraced one more time. Her last words he heard from her were "I love you. So, so much."
He drove home quickly and came up to his house's front door. But it was open.
The inside was so quiet.
From the garage, he grabbed a gladius he bought at a comic-con a year ago. It seemed like a model, but it was a real sword. He was scared to search the rest of the house, but he explored further.
Everything seemed normal until he came to the office. His mother and stepfather worked from home there sometimes, and they were today. But he opened the door only to see three...people feasting on the corpses of his parents.
Like the woman, their eyes looked primal and their skin was like paper. His stepfather's whole stomach was ripped open as the things devoured his insides. One of his mother's legs was totally ripped off and her head was split open.
Ash vomited immediately at the sight, but the monsters didn't seem to notice him- they were too focused on the task at hand. He got a rush of adrenaline suddenly as he rushed forward and downed the distracted creatures with his gladius. He did nothing for the next many minutes but kneel by their corpses and cry.
He noticed his stepfather's computer was on. And so was news of everything happened- he watched it and was filled in on the situation. He knew he couldn't sit and grieve- but he did cover their corpses is hopes nothing else could get to them. So they could rest.
He gathered his devices, food, water, his favorite picture of Ella and him, a journal they kept together for a long time, and a song they wrote together about their love. Just in case. He also kept the ukulele he made for her- he still intended on giving it to her, whenever it may be.
He called his remaining family, with no answer, nor any answer from Ella. He set off to her home, only to find an empty house. But many of their belongings were gone.
As he heard a growl behind him, he span and slashed the walker's head with his gladius. As the thing slumped to the ground, he looked at the blood on his blade- these were people. He killed them.
Or...were they dead already?
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-Ash has had three main goals- the first two are pretty common, wander and survive, but he also has never stopped searching for Ella (and also his family or friends, the ones he has not found dead, but mainly his soul mate). He has been following invisible tracks, around the country and back to Oregon, and somehow was lucky enough to live through it all. Even though there may be not even a clue, he has not given up, because in the apocalypse, he wanted to be with the one he loves.
Ash knows she may very well be dead. He knows his search might be pointless. But he doesn't care. He's survived this long, so he needs a purpose to keep going. Whether she be alive or dead, he will still not stop until he dies or he finds her. He's come very close to killing himself many times, but she keeps him going.
He may be more lonely than he's ever felt, but he know life will always have purpose. Even in the apocalypse.
Sorry, this was totally horrible before. I was really tired so it was pretty dreadful, and I hadn't gotten to finishing it yet, but I hope this is better.
