"Alright lead the way" Nick said as he walked beside Andrew down towards to entrance to Reed Hall that he mentioned a few seconds ago "Man, I still remember the times when cadets graduated from this place" Nick said

"Well maybe one day if we're lucky enough, we'll get to see that happen," President Michner said as they walked back outside; looking around, he pointed out to the vast expanse of grass they called The Plain and said, "From out there, Nicholas, you're within about ten minutes at most from any building in the center of the campus here," pointing out a few of the buildings and adding, "If you like Gothic architecture, this place is like a dream..."

Nick stroked his clean shaven chin "I do like Gothic architecture, although it's not my favorite. Probably because I've never took the time to appreciate the art form for what it is." Nick said as he thought of another question "What are those buildings you just pointed out, I assume one of them's the cafeteria?" Nick asked him

Chuckling for a few moments at Nicholas's momentary Gothic snark, President Michner replied, "Don't worry; it grows on you over time. I know when I first came here as a cadet, this place looked like a medieval fortress with all the buildings and everything but it grows on you. The buildings," he continued as they walked towards Washington Hall, where the dining areas were located, "are like historical sentinels, places that silently remind you of times past and remind you that, even in the worst of times, there's still things worth fighting for, things worth having in this world," pausing as a flight of P-40 Warhawks flew overhead....presumably towards River Field to the west, Michner thought.
As they walked along, Michner suddenly had a thought race through his mind; pausing to try and remember it, he finally grabbed hold of the idea and filed it away in his mind for later...seeing that they were getting close to Washington Hall, he said, "I may or I may not have asked this already, so I apologize in advance, Nicholas, but where are you from originally?"

"I'm sure it'll grow on me eventually" Nick said as they were close to Washington Hall "I'm from Ocala, Florida, north of Orlando by an hour and a half" He said to him
(OOC: I apologize for the slow response, I've been on vacation, still am)

(OOC: No probs, Nick.)
"It will," Andrew said as they got to the main entrance at Washington Hall. "Me, I'm originally from a little town north of Charleston called St. George; its' a small enough town that I suspect," pausing to open the door for Nicholas, "you could fit it inside West Point and still have to room to go."

Finally remembering whatever it was that he'd thought of earlier, President Michner fractionally searched for a pad to write down the idea; not finding one, he sheepishly smiled at Nicholas. "I just thought of something but I forgot to bring anything to write it down with....if you'll go ahead and grab something to eat, I'll be right back."
Excusing himself a moment, President Michner began walking down the hallway, in the general direction of Eisenhower Hall; as he walked along the hallway, he passed by one of the offices used by West Point's Operations people and stepped inside. Raising his hand as one of the soldiers' called a salute, he said, "Its' alright; I just need to write something down here," finding a piece of paper and a pencil and quickly writing the aforementioned idea down. Looking around, he asked, "Anyone know where Colonel Stone is?" referring to West Point's legal officer - and acting garrison commander at the moment, he remembered.
"I believe he was out along the perimeter surveying the defensive barriers, sir," a young corporal said to Michner.
Writing quickly, Michner wrote the idea down and handed it to the young solider. "Get over to Communications, Corporal, and have them transmit this message as written to Colonel Stone and tell him I need to see him ASAP."
"And where will you be, sir?" the corporal asked as President Michner began walking towards the door; turning for a moment, Michner said, "I'll be over in the dining area, son; have him meet me there," and proceeded to walk outside and back in the general direction of the dining area, his idea now in play....

Nick walked over to the service table where the food was being served and grabbed himself a chicken breast, then some egg noodles, veggies and a glass of water "Man just like my grandma used to make." He thought as he sat down at a cafeteria table, prayed over his food and started eating. While also patiently waiting for the President to come back.

He thought as he sat down at a cafeteria table, prayed over his food and started eating. While also patiently waiting for the President to come back.
Entering the dining hall, President Michner grabbed a cup of coffee and a dinner plate - chicken, egg noodles, veggies - and quickly found when Nicholas was sitting at. "Apologies for not being here sooner," Michner said, sitting down across from Nicholas. "Business unfortunately....how's the food?" he asked.

"The food's good" Nick said then he took small sips of his water and continued eating. "What other places do you have to show me?" Nick asked the President
"The food's good" Nick said then he took small sips of his water and continued eating. "What other places do you have to show me?" Nick asked the President
"That's good to hear," President Michner said, smiling as he ate, pausing to drink coffee every so often as he went along...eventually, as the plates emptied and stomachs settled, he listened to Nicholas's question and said, "There's a few more places," remembering that he (a) was waiting for Col. Stone to join them and (b) the idea he'd been thinking of earlier to reform in his mind....
