This place. . .She'd walked all the way around the perimeter of the fence before even considering coming in sight of the gates. It had taken most of the afternoon. She'd hidden any time she'd seen anything like another human face who might have caught sight of her. Ariadne wanted to be certain this time. Be certain that things were safe in this place before she committed to staying here. She was hungry and exhausted, but she wasn't going to just decide randomly that this was the place for her.
A whiff of something(was it water?) greeted her nose and her curiosity was piqued. What was this place? More interested than tired, she climbed a tree outside the perimeter and got high enough to see more of the complex. Whoa! There was a pool! Ariadne wasn't much of a swimmer, but the idea of a pool was intriguing. And it decided her. She slid down the tree and picked up her backpack and rifle and made her way to the front gate. She approached the gate the way she'd seen Clive, Dana, and the rest do countless times: her rifle slung across her back, hands open and above her head to show she meant no harm. In her mind, she was as formidable as anyone else these days, even though she was four and a half feet tall and scrawny, with knobby knees and tangled hair.

Walking down to the front gate to see what was going on, Bam could immediately see what was happening - another little pipsqueak?!?, Bam thought, waving to the guards to open the gate and let her through....hope she ain't a prankster like Haley - I can't take two snake-charming pranksters, he added mentally, waving at the young girl as they got closer. "Afternoon, miss," Bam said, hoping to ease any tensions that might be still be in the air...though with everything going on away from home, he mused, we'll be back in the thick of it soon enough. "What's your name?" he asked her in a friendly, welcome-to-our-world kind of manner.

Haley was following alongside Bam carefully observing everything that was going on. Guard seemed tight, that was a pretty good sign. What with this place being a castle put them in a good defensive position against the undead or heck, anything else that wanted to take a swing at them. Whoever decided this would be a good place for a settlement sure chose right.
Haley didn't have much to say yet, letting Bam do the talking for the time being while standing alongside him, her arms folded. This new arrival didn't seem like much of a threat, heck, even she herself probably looked more intimidating despite being only 4'10 and stick thin herself what with the pistol and survival knife at her side and the red headband bandanna hiding the bandage on her head.

Ariadne's eyes narrowed slightly as she was let in so easily. She wasn't sure she trusted these people who trusted so easily. It wasn't wise to just let strangers walk in through your gates. But she hadn't any other choices. There weren't other houses out this way; she wasn't much for hunting (though she'd bagged a squirrel or two on dumb luck and Clive's training), and she didn't have anyone to provide for her. She needed this place. And these people.
"I'm Ariadne," she replied, holding out a hand for the man to shake. "Ariadne Sperling from LA. Who are you and what is this place?" What she could see from here seemed even grander than from outside the fence. It was the kind of place she imagined her agent Stephanie owning, but better.

"Good to meet you, Ariadne," Bam replied, shaking her hand with a firm handshake of his own. "I'm Brandon, though most everyone calls me Bam for short," pausing as he saw Pastor Stephenson walk over to a nearby bench and sit down, obviously looking lost in thought.Aren't we all? Bam mused a second or two before he turned his focus back to Ariadne. "I was going to give young Haley here the ten-cent tour of San Simeon but after we get you through Medical and all, I'll take both of you on that tour...that sound like fun?" he asked her.

Haley also approached and extended her hand for a handshake of her own after Bam had gotten through with his. She was still a little suspicious of this whole situation but there was no reason to just be straight up impolite. "I'm Haley. Haley Cameron." Hey, Ariadne had included her last name, so, she might as well do it as well right?
"I was going to give young Haley here the ten-cent tour of San Simeon but after we get you through Medical and all, I'll take both of you on that tour...that sound like fun?"
"Ten cents? Seriously? Trying to make me pay for this tour now Bam? God..." The sarcastic girl shook her head, putting her hands on her hips and looking up at the would be "scammer".

Now she was really dubious. Ariadne looked at the man, brow furrowed. She didn't have choices, but if she did, she might make another one. She had only spoken a few words and already she was accepted to this group. Was something odd going on here? He hadn't even asked her any questions or anything. She couldn't help but remember something Clive had said about men and their intentions not being always good. Especially with young girls. There was another girl here. . .Was this guy one of those who . . . To be honest, she didn't really know what Clive had been talking about, but she knew it wasn't good.
"Don't you want to talk to me first?" she asked, perplexed. She considered backing toward the gate, not sure she trusted these people. "I could be a spy or something. Or you could be. . . I dunno. Not okay."

(Got permission from Bam to skip over him as I had an idea on something Haley would say here, probably before he would get a chance to pipe up)
"Don't you want to talk to me first?" she asked, perplexed. She considered backing toward the gate, not sure she trusted these people. "I could be a spy or something. Or you could be. . . I dunno. Not okay."
Haley turned from Bam to look back over at Ariadne, folding her arms. "Look. I'm new here, arrived yesterday so I'm not entirely sure about this place yet either but from what I can tell these are good enough people. And well, if you're worried about 'em not directly interviewing you? Well, they haven't sat down for question time with me, but, they ain't stupid. Apart from this guy." She gave Brandon a playful jab with her elbow. "They're gonna try striking up a conversation with you rather than any sort of interview. Probably on this "tour"."
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
