Noticing and hearing the surprise in Sarah's voice as she asked her why she hd given her that comforting hug moments earlier, Elise just sheepishly smiled and said, "Because it seemed appropriate. When I glanced over and saw you looking a bit down, I just decided to give you a hug, try to cheer you up...in a sense, it worked."
"I... I'll try to not flinch anymore... When I'm in there at least..." she muttered to Elise before turning to face the medical building. "Lets.. Lets get this over with..," Sarah said; looking towards the yacht club building; as they stood there, Elise said, "Chris, if you want to, go ahead and take her over to Medical and then we'll....," pausing as she thought things over and then added, "....and then we'll all get something to eat and then I'll take you on a tour of Belle Isle, Sarah; that sound good?"

Sarah stood there with her eyes glued to the building in front of her, her heart starting to pound as the thought of their doctor asking the questions about the extent of her scars when she heard Elise explain the hug. Well, Thanks... Please do it again.... she thought as she stared at the woman for a moment before embracing her once more. "Thank you." she muttered to her as she released her from the second hug. Sarah didn't know why she had suddenly hugged Elise again, In fact the thought that this woman gave her a hug just because she felt she needed it confused her immensely but that small gesture of positive physical contact with another for the first time in nearly three years was exactly what Sarah needed.
Returning her thoughts to the medical building She knew she was going to have to tell the truth about them, the risk of them not excepting her started to eat away at Sarah's mind as she stood there with her eyes on the entrance to the building. Elise had started making an impact on Sarah. Maybe these people aren't bandits after all. She thought as she heard Elise speak once more.
"Chris, if you want to, go ahead and take her over to Medical and then we'll....," pausing as she thought things over and then added, "....and then we'll all get something to eat and then I'll take you on a tour of Belle Isle, Sarah; that sound good?"She heard her say as she turned around to face the trio of woman again. "That... Did... Did you say food?" Sarah blurted out as she felt her stomach complain; She had been able to ignored it up to this point thanks to the stress of all the new faces that had been around her, But thanks to the hug received by Elise her nerves had started to settle a bit and she felt her cheeks go red. "So... Sorry.. First things first I know..." She finished before anyone answered in an attempt to not sound as hungry as she was. She hadn't been able to find a safe place to sleep the previous night so hadn't had a chance to eat that day. Please... Please don't all be an act to hurt me.... She thought as she waited for them to lead her into the building and get her through the process.

"So who all is heading out? I can help transport supplies with Old Goliath outside...and I know I can't do heavy lifting, but at least I'll be able to move around and do something to help out," Hannah asked as they each dug into plates of breakfast. In-between bites of sausage and eggs, Sarah began laying out her plans...."For years, Coleman Young Airport was the major airport in the Detroit-Wayne County region, before they built that abomination of an airport way out to the west to replace; the place I'm looking for to set up an outpost is one of the terminals there. Its' about three stories with an underground garage to keep all our vehicles in; unless someone's looted it, there should be tons of supplies still there......"
Setting her fork down, Sarah continued, her voice a few shades calmer. ".....but the main purpose is to let people know that there's a civilization here, something to fight for, something to make our own, a place that'll allow us to explore areas of the Motor City we can't get to without traveling in force from here...and after four years, the roads can't be in good shape. Then again," she added deadpan, "they really weren't in good shape back when there was a civilization to keep the roads up.
"Anyway, there's going to be about thirty of us going out this first trip; that's mainly to help secure the terminal, make sure there aren't any bad guys or walkers inside; then we'll start turning it into a living, breathing outpost....and yes, we will be using Old Goliath, so be ready to head out in a few hours or so. In addition, Dr. MacMillan's sending two medics out and we'll rotate medics every so often......Chris is going out there - the sparring partner I practice with regularly; you should see us outside when we're sparring, Hannah!
"As to who will be leading the first convoy out there? Yesterday, when all the bosses and I discussed it, we actually had a pretty spirited conversation about the topic; ultimately, I put my foot down and said I would lead the first convoy out there and stay just long enough to get the place secured. Once that happens, Damen - Commander Smull - would come out with the first relief convoy and take charge of the outpost...and before you ask, I've asked Elise to watch over Meredith while I'm out there; I trust her around Meredith and I trust her judgment running things here in my absence. If she needs any help, she'll have the Doc and Damen and Hyatt to lean on for help or assistance until I come back after we get everything secured out there."

Charlotte looked over at Pip and then back up at Elise, "Chris, if you want to go ahead and take her over to Medical and then we'll..... And then we'll get something to eat and then i'll take you on a your of Belle Isle, Sarah; that sound good?" Elise asked. Lottie didn't hear if Pip replied or not since she got distracted by her own thoughts. Ahh food...glorious food. Elise's plan sounded like a good one since Lottie was starving. "I wonder what I'll have? " she thought.

Commander Smull was going over the equipment him and his team were going to be using for they're task later on in the day. They were going to be the first of the Relief unit's to allow those that went before them to clear out the terminal, the Main objective of today's list. His team was to be guard duty once they're boots and heels hit the ground. He had already went over the plan three times so far that everyone is getting paired up in teams of three, but two teams will be stationed on top of the roof top with a Sniper rifle (Hunting rifles with what he saw so far) and a spotter. So there would be two teams of two so that it was less targets if the Terminal was to be assaulted by raiders.
Opening each of the breaches and chambers of all the weapons, he lifted each one up to look down the barrel to make sure it was clean and ready to be fired. The ammo for each weapon laid beside they're designated weapon so that there wasn't any mistakes or an accident premature discharge of the ammo while inside the firearm. One by one, he inspected each Assault rifle, Sub machine gun, Bolt Action rifle, Semi-auto Rifle, and pistol. They all were in good shape. He had looked over his own weapons and cleaned and sharpened when he noticed that they needed it. With his weapon's on his body and his Bullet proof vest on, he went over towards the board he placed the map up with the list of different team names that he had given: Alpha, Bravo, Delta, Echo, and Nest 1 n 2 (Nest was the Snipers and they're Spotters.) Team's Alpha, Bravo, Delta and Echo were going to take each corner of the property and keep an eye out. They were going to move any vehicles or concrete dividers to use as Fortifications. They were going to dig into the area like ticks and hold off whatever that was going to be thrown at them. Pulling out his pack of cigarettes, he pulled one out along with his lighter and lit it as he said to himself.
"Better safe then sorry later on." Earlier on during the debriefing among the different team leaders for this whole operation, Damen had asked once they were set up and had the grounds on lock down that if anyone was going to build up fencing or at least better fortification's for his unit's so that they don't have to worry about his teams being over ran by the dead or worse. With said Fortification's, they would have protection to be able to do they're job's at 100% Efficiency. This is why Hannah's rig was going to be used, to bring supplies, ammo and even building supplies so that such things could be built. She was going to drop the trailer and the different teams later on were going to unload it all. And depending on the time that this all takes place would determine if they have what he calls a make shift 'Pillbox' for his teams or if they were going to be using whatever was around them to use in the mean time.

"Alright, flex your arm above your shoulder," Joseph said to the person in Exam 2, who'd come in complaining of elbow problems....watching the man work and flex his arm, it took him a few minutes to work in his mind the differential diagnoses of what could be wrong. "If I had a full-scale X-ray machine, I could give the elbow a better lock, but on seeing what I've seen and what you've told me, I'd say you have golfer's elbow." When the man asked what he meant, he pointed to the inside of the elbow above and below the joint and explained that the odds were that the man sitting on the exam table had tendinitis in the interior tendons of the elbow, adding, "I'm going to recommend you keep the elbow iced up," pausing to wrap several compression bandages around it to keep a steady pressure on the elbow, "and keep it elevated as much as possible. Suffice it to say, you're off-the-work-schedule for at least the next two days, okay?"
Before he could add anything else, he heard a knock on the door; walking over, he motioned for the guy to put his shirt back on as he opened the door and stepped outside. "Anything wrong, Haley?" he asked the medic.
"Nothing that won't keep," she replied. "They picked up a survivor at the MacArthur Bridge; Chris is going to bring her here to Medical...you want her to bring her here?" pausing as the man Joseph had been examining for the elbow injury stepped by them.
"No, Exam 1," Joseph said, making a few notes to go in the patient's file for later transcription before handing the file to Haley. "That goes on the desk in the Medical Office," reaching over to grab a fresh, new, empty file for the survivor that was coming in, "and this one goes to our new survivor, whoever they may be."

Listening to the plan straight forward, Hannah sat there for a few moments so that Sarah could go over the full length of the plan without interruptions. Once everything was said and done, Hannah placed what was left of her meal onto the table and sat there thinking. Slowly getting up, she walked over towards the bed that they slept in together and leaned down a bit. Her hand slipped under the mattress and grabbed what she was looking for. Pulling it out, she brought to light the Scar-H assault rifle that she had sneaked into the bedroom. It was one of her personal firearms. Walking back over to her seat, she slowly sat back down as she felt the dull throb of pain in her stomach region where she had been shot and had surgery.
Placing the butt of the rifle on her thigh and the barrel of the gun aiming up at the ceiling, Hannah smiled a bit. "Brought this in for protection when you weren't looking hun. And as for the plan...I'm tagging along with you. If there is any bad guys there, I don't want them laying a finger on that beautiful butt that I marked Mine. I'll get the rest of my gear ready in a bit. Just....need to relax a moment. Haven't been out of bed since I was brought up here...damn...hate feeling this weak. Hopefully I can get my strength back soon, I miss playing with my lover." A wink came forth as the smile widened a bit. Looking at the assault rifle, she pushed the button on the side and pulled the clip out. Her eyes looked at the 308 caliber rounds that were inside of it. The clip was full and ready. Slapping it back in, she was ready on that aspect.

Finishing the rest of her own breakfast, Sarah got up and, after getting all the now-empty plates stacked together to be taken back down to the dining hall, watched as her lover grabbed her assault rifle and began working on it, making sure everything was in order...
Walking over and around the table, Sarah leaned down and gave Hannah a long, deep hug, her hands sliding down the front for a few moments, planting a few kisses along her neck for good measure. "I know; we'll have plenty of time to play - and play we shall - but work comes first," leaning around to kiss Hannah on the lips. "Which reminds me: I got to get my rifle out of the Armory; its' time I got the M1a out and used it somewhere other than the rifle range." It was a little bit hyperbole; Sarah had long been an avid shooter and, had she ever decided to enlist, would've likely qualified with high marks on any military rifle range. Besides her skill in Filipino martial arts, it was something she practiced at regularly. Her own rifle, a Springfield M1a, was a powerful weapon, firing a 7.62mm NATO round, could be a finicky weapon at times but in the hands of an expert markman, was as lethal as anything they had at Belle Isle.
After holding onto Hannah for a couple more seconds, Sarah leaned back up and walked over to the bedroom door; turning for a moment, she said, "Let me call Clarissa and have someone grab those plates, then I'll head down to the Armory," adding in an almost deadpan manner, "so much to do, so little time..."

Sarah stood there, Fist clinched in nervousness as she waited for Christ to start leading the way into Medical, Watching the woman pass her and motion for Sarah to follow led to her swallowing hard on the saliva inside her mouth. "Okay.. Let.. Lets get this over with." She muttered to the woman as she passed her through the door and into the building proper. The room was well lite to Sarah's surprise as she glanced around the room at the area just inside, The new woman 'Chris' motioned to a door labeled with the letters "Exam 1". Calm down Sarah. You're gonna be fine.. You're gonna be fine. she repeated to herself as she followed behind Chris to the door. glancing back out the door one last time to see the two that had picked her up. Bye... She thought followed by a tinge of worry as she saw Elise disappear behind the wall next to the open door.
"Don't.. Don't be surprised by my scars..." She said to the woman as they reached a small room with a bed and a man standing nearby. "Hi.." She shyly nodded to the new man in the room. "I'm.. I'm the new person, Are... Are you the doctor they talked about?" She asked as she stood there gripping her rifle strap tightly as she dug her heals into the ground. You're fine Sarah. Calm down. She mentally reminded herself once more before looking up to let her eyes meet the mans. "I..I guess you're gonna want to examine me..?" She questions softly before returning her gaze to the ground.
The entire experience was extremely unpleasant to the young girl from the north, She hated being in the spot light and that seems like that was just where she was at this moment in time. She wanted nothing more than to get it over with and find Elise and Lottie again. She didn't know why but they seemed, Nice, Like, She could find trust in them. "Okay.. What do I do?"

As he worked to prepare for the survivor being brought in, Joseph heard a knock on the Exam 1 door; without turning, he said, "Come in," making sure his reading glasses were on as the exam room opened. Turning, he saw Haley, one of Belle Isle's medics, walk in with the survivor, who to Joseph's mind seemed very tense and nervous - maybe even a little scared or something, he thought; of what, he didn't know. "Doc, this is Sarah," Haley said, stepping back so that Sarah could enter the exam room. "Sarah," Haley continued, "this is Dr. MacMillan," pausing as Joseph smiled - an honest, earnest smile - and said, "Well, hello there, Sarah. I'm Dr. MacMillan, the chief medical officer here at Belle Isle," pausing as he pointed towards the exam room table..."If you'll hop up onto the table there, we'll get--"
"Don't.. Don't be surprised by my scars..." She said to the woman as they reached a small room with a bed and a man standing nearby. "Hi.." She shyly nodded to the new man in the room. Hearing the words scars piqued Joseph's interest, not because of any physical concerns but because the scars could explain why Sarah seemed so nervous and tense and scared. Pulling a small rolling doctor's round chair over, Joseph sat down and looked at Sarah. "Its' alright, Sarah," he said, trying to ease whatever fears Sarah might have about the exam. "Whatever you to say to me or to Haley there," pointing to the medic, "won't leave this room; you have our word on that. Doctor-Patient privacy still applies, even in this screwed=up world of ours." That wasn't hyperbole on Joseph's part; if he had had one thing drilled into him during his internship years ago at Latter-Day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, it was that you could do a lot of things as a practitioner of medicine but you never broke doctor-patient confidentiality; a patient had to know that whatever they said, did or showed their doctor would be kept in the strictest confidence and Joseph lived by those words as if they were imprinted into his soul.
He continued. "What we're going to do is a simple physical exam, Sarah; we're to check your heartrate and breathing, check your blood pressure and do a visual exam of as much of the skin as possible to check for bite marks, scratches, anything that could pose an infection or wound risk here at Belle Isle. I'll try to be as quick and circumspect throughout the exam but I will ask questions as I go on, not so much to establish a conversation but as to gauge your mental state; you'd be surprised at how people can discern certain things by how someone talks to another person," smiling once more, hoping he was easing whatever fears Sarah might have.
Sliding back from her, Joseph got up and said, "Now, if you'll go ahead and hop up there onto the exam table, we'll get this exam started..."

Sarah's eyes shifted around the room as they entered the door, The new woman behind her sent a small pinch of fear through her as she stopped at the foot of a bed with a man nearby with his back turned towards them. Is.. Is this the doctor? she asked herself as she watched the man turn to face them. "Well, hello there, Sarah. I'm Dr. MacMillan, the chief medical officer here at Belle Isle," Doctor Macmillan. This is him alright... she thought as she heard him start to motion towards the bed and speak once more as she heard him start to speak again before cutting off at her words. "Don't.. Don't be surprised by my scars..." The words meant more as a warning of the extent of them than a plea for them not to look, She knew that she was going to have to show them to make sure they didn't think she was a walking time bomb from a bite or something.
Making her way slowly to the bed and sliding the M39 off her shoulder and leaning it against the bed she sat down gingerly on the soft cushioned bed. The feeling of fabric over a cushioned mattress being something Sarah hadn't felt since the beginning of the end; Even at the first stronghold she slept on a cot. "What... What will... you have... Me do? I... Do I need to show you the scars on my back as well? It... It's covered... From... From before.. There... There also on my arms.. And... Chest.." she stammered out as she looked up at the man. "And... And you've probably noticed... I can't see out of my left eye... Thanks to this." she finished as she traced the scar that went from above her eye and rejoined at the bottom, stretching across her cheek. "I've... I've had a hard four years..." She finished as she brought her hands together and rested them in her lap in an attempt to stop them from shaking slightly from the nerves. Calm down sarah... You're fine. She reminded herself as she looked up to the doctor again and waited his instructions as her foot tapped the ground nervously.

Being held close had caused Hannah to close her eye as she slid her one hand over the top of Sarah's. Feeling her lips against her neck and kissing it a couple of times had caused her to coe a bit. Sarah explained that there will be time for play later on, but that they had work that needed to be done first. Hannah nodded her head and kissed Sarah for a few moments before Sarah then broke the kiss. Sitting there still with her right eye closed, she let the taste of Sarah on her lips linger a bit as she licked her lips. Her lover then said that she was going to call down and have the dishes picked up and that she had so much to do and very little time. Smiling a bit, she stood up and walked over to her at the door with the Scar-H in her right hand. Bringing up her left hand, she cupped the side of Sarah's face and kissed her back for a few moments. Breaking the kiss, she said lightly. "Hence the responsibility of being the leader of the group. We will get through this, we always do babe."
Walking back into the room, she slung the rifle over her neck so that the heavy hitting assault rifle was now laying against her back in an Angle. Grabbing her .45 caliber M1911 style handgun with it's thigh holster, she strapped it to her right thigh and then tied her Rapier to her left side. Making sure she had her spare clips on her for each of the firearms, she felt that she was ready. Since her Rig had food, water and clothing of her's inside of it, she knew that if she needed to camp there for a while that she would be covered. Stretching her arms and her legs, she felt her joints pop again. Reaching for the table, she picked up her eye patch and put it on over her missing left eye. Turning around, she saw that Sarah was already gone and the door was closed. Stepping across the room, she opened the door to Sarah's office where little Meredith was sleeping. Walking over to the sleeping toddler, Hannah lend over and gave a gentle kiss on her forehead and whispered gently. "See you when I get back my little Angel. Don't worry, I'll keep mommy safe." Standing up straight, she walked out of the office and began to make her way down the hallway towards the stairwell. Going through that door, she began to walk down the stairs with her boots making the thudding sound as she took each step and holding the rails so that if she felt weak that she could stop and take a break.
It took a bit for her to get to the ground floor after taking a break at the last landing since it was some time since she had taken the staircase to get anywhere. Then again, she was bed ridden for the last few days, but not today. Today she was going to pull her weight to help out with this mission. Even if the injury would kill her with old throbbing pain. Reaching the last door, she opened it and went through it. Instead of making any stops along her way, she just walked down the different hallways to get to the front door and out it. Walking down the small steps and going across the road, she waved at Chris and Kate who were getting ready as well. With a purpose in her stride, she reached her Peterbelt Big Rig as the trailer was already hooked up to her truck and people were getting it loaded up with building supplies, food, water and even ammo. Stepping up onto the first step of the truck, she opened the door and pulled herself up into the mighty rig that survived with her all this time and served it's purpose without any troubles so far and has been loyal to her.
Opening the sun visor a bit, the keys to the rig slid down and into her hand. With the main key in her hand and her left foot propping the door open as it hung out of the rig, she slid the key into the ignition and turned the key. The mighty rig fired up and rumbled to life. Smiling as she slid her hand back and forth across the dashboard. "Oh Goliath, did you miss me?" Placing her foot on the gas pedal and since it was in park, she knew it wasn't going anywhere. Slowly putting her foot down and bringing it back up, she made the engine Rev loudly as black exhaust came out of the two Exhaust stacks on the side of the cab. "Of course you did sweetie. Don't worry, we are going out today." Taking her foot off the gas pedal and her other foot still propping the door open, she rested her head back until she got the word that the supplies were strapped down in the back and the trailer doors shut and locked. Taking the rifle off of her back and setting it against her seat and the small wall behind her, she sat there and relaxed a bit. Reaching behind her with a groan, she pulled out a case of CD's. It was a heavy black box made of steel. Opening it, she began to go through the different pages of CD's, trying to find the right one until she found one that said, 'Over the Road mix'. Nodding her head, she pulled it out and slid it into the CD player.
It came to life with it's Green screen saying, 'Morning. Loading CD.' The first song that came on was Toby Keith's song, Drive it on Home. Smiling to herself, Hannah began to sing along with song as her finger began to tap on the big steering wheel. It was a fitting song for what she was going to be doing very shortly. "Rollin' down the Interstate Headin' out to Illinois Runnin' 'bout 95 Listen to my engine, boy
Sand burnin' beano Westcoast, turn around I don't make no money, they love Sittin' the friggin' trailer down
Peter Bills' pullin' out Now I'm pulin' up behind and Son, if you can't find 'em, ground 'em

Listening to Sarah as she spoke, Joseph paused from listening to both her heartbeat and breathing and set his stethoscope around his neck, reaching over to grab his doctor's chair so that he could sit down in front of her. With a comforting look and voice he said, "Its' alright, Sarah; you're safe, okay?" taking off his reading glasses for a moment so that he wouldn't look as imperiously doctorial as he sometimes looked/ "You don't have to show us those scars, okay?" Hearing that she was without sight in her left eye, Joseph said, "There's one other person who's without sight in their left eye - Hannah, so you aren't the only one who's dealt with that problem...and like I said, everything being said in here between us stays between us, alright?"
After a few more moments, Joseph said, "I tell you what, Sarah: based on what I've seen and from listening to your heartrate and breathing, you're cleared to enter Belle Isle....but whenever you can, I want you to talk to both Hannah, who I mentioned earlier, and Kasie, one of our other medics. Kasie's the resident shrink here and if there's anything troubling you, she'll do everything she can to help, okay?" smiling once more as he put his glasses back on.

After saying a few words of comfort and care to Meredith - and calling Clarissa to have someone come up and pick up the dishes from breakfast - Sarah stepped outside and headed down the hallway to the main stairwell and headed down to Belle Isle's Armory, located below-ground just to the right of the basement stairs....it was the place where most of Belle Isle's inhabitants - including Sarah - kept most of their weapons.
Walking over to where the rifles were kept, it took Sarah only a few seconds to pull her Springfield M1a out of the rifle locker and close it shut, setting it down on the table but making sure she didn't interrupt or interfere with the half-dozen or so others who were also checking their rifles out as well. For several minutes, Sarah made sure everything on her rifle worked and that she had plenty of ammunition to go with it. Satisfied everything was in order with the M1a, Sarah then paid attention to her .45 semi-auto, an old M1911 she'd taken a lot of work to over the years, checking it to make sure that it properly worked. The last thing I need, Sarah mused as she holstered the .45 on a thigh-rig, is for either weapon to go bent on me out there.
With everything in order, Sarah walked out of the armory and headed outside the join the rest of the convoy; waving high to Chris and Kate (she couldn't remember offhand if Chris was going with them on the first group out to the airport, but she did know Kate would head out there with Damen's convoy on the first relief) Sarah took a few moments to talk with everyone going out before walking over to Hannah's rig, opening the passenger-side door....as she did, she paused and signaled for everyone to fire their engines up and prepare to head out.
Climbing onboard the Peterbilt, Sarah sat down, a quiet smile on her face and looked at Hannah, saying after a deep breath, "Ready to start conquering the world?"

Feeling the the stethoscope press against her chest and back sent a shiver down Sarah's back as her foot continued to tap nervously on the floor with her eyes glued to the mans arm, Ready to run if he tried to do anything; But he didn't, He listened and back off. The fact none of these people had tried anything with her and had even been nice to her left Sarah perplexed at the prospect that she might have just found a Genuine place to live again. "Its' alright, Sarah; you're safe, okay?" The mans words echoed in her ears for a moment before she looked up and made contact with the doctor as he took off his glasses. "Why? Why are you all so nice? No.. No one has been this welcoming in a long time." she responded quietly to him before looking past him at the wall for a moment while she thought about someone seeing the extent of her scars.
"I.. I don't like how my body looks now.. But.. If you would feel more comfortable if you checked me for bites.. You can look." she replied to him before bringing her hands to grip her legs and took a deep breath. "There's one other person who's without sight in their left eye - Hannah, so you aren't the only one who's dealt with that problem...and like I said, everything being said in here between us stays between us, alright?" There.. There's someone else who can't see fully here? she wondered before peering back at the door they had entered from. "How.. How did she lose her eye sight?" she asked, turning back to face him once more. "I... I was held prisoner by a group of bandits up north.. They.. They were pretty rough. That's where most of my scars came from." she admitted to the man after a few moments of thought over the consequences and whether or not to trust him with the 'Doctor, Patient' thing. "This is the first nice place I've found in a long time. Sorry for being so.. standoffish."

"Well, I can't speak for anyone else but its' in my very nature to be nice, Sarah," Joseph said. "I find you get a lot more done if you're nice to people than if you're not. Now that doesn't mean I can't be a hardass when the situation calls for it, but I prefer to be my nice, usual self most days." Hearing Sarah ask about Hannah's eye injury, Joseph said circumspectly, "Hannah's mentioned it to me when she first came here, but you'll have to ask her the specifics."
Before he could continue, Sarah mentioned how nice things were here and Joseph smiled, picking up on the subtle change in Sarah's attitude."Belle Isle's a pretty nice place, Sarah; I sometimes wish I had come this way years ago instead of ending up elsewhere, but those are the choices one must make in this world...and you don't have to apologize for being standoffish, okay?"

The phrase meant something to Sarah; It showed her that all the good in the world wasn't gone after all, That there might still be a place for her that wasn't alone and fighting for her life on the road every day. "Thank you." she muttered to the man, She wanted to say so much more, show him how much his words meant to her, But all she could manage to say was.. 'Thank you'. A few minutes passed before she would speak again.
"Okay.. Where do I go now? Is Elise going to take me somewhere else now? Or.. Is someone new coming?" She asked a little bit more confident in her words around the man after hearing him speak for a while. Maybe... Maybe this place isn't so bad. I hope. She thought as she looked back at the door, Noticing the small amount of light sneaking its way through the crack near the between the door itself and the floor of the building. Turning back to face the doctor she spoke again. "Or am I to wait here for someone to come?" she asked a little redundantly but the last thing she wanted to do was screw up now and overstep her boundaries, leading to her being kicked out.. Or worse.

"Hang on a second," Joseph said, picking up the radio he kept on a belt loop; turning it on, he keyed the mic and spoke. "Elise, this is Doc MacMillan; Sarah's passed her Medical exam....were you two supposed to meet up afterward?" letting the mic button go so that he could hear the reply.
"Yeah, I'll meet her over in the dining hall, Doc," Elise replied; switching off the radio, he set it back on his belt loop and said, "The dining hall's on the far end of the ground floor; when you step outside the exam room here, just turn right and go all the way down the hallway; you can't miss it." After a moment, he added, "Oh, and welcome to Belle Isle, Sarah."

After joining Elise to grab something to eat, Charlotte decided to depart from Elsie. "I'm gonna finish off that walk...I want to make sure i didn't miss anything - view wise." Lottie said racing off. She ran back to her room to grab a jacket and her journal...and also a tennis ball that she found lying around the facility. She stuffed them all in her backpack and headed downstairs where she would be greeted by the cold spring air. Checking if she had her pocket knife with her, Charlotte ventured on until she was stopped by the fence/enclosure. Placing her foot in one of the ledges, she started to climb, knowing exactly what places to put her feet and hands since she had done this multiple times now. When Lottie was at the top, she would just sit there for a bit checking the surroundings and admiring the view before dropping down. Charlotte wouldn't venture too far...well she couldn't anyway since the body of water surrounded the place. Finding her usual place beneath a tree - which overlooked the water- Charlotte sat down, leaning her back against the tree before taking her journal out and writing anything that came to mind. After being on her own for the past four years, Charlotte grew to love the solitude. So anytime she could find solidarity, she would definitely take it.

"Alright," Elise said, waving as Charlotte headed back outside; finishing her cup of coffee - she'd eaten a venison burger earlier - Elise grabbed another cup of coffee and sat back down, opening up a small notebook in which she kept a running tally of logistics information vital to the running of Belle Isle: everything from ammunition to food stocks was contained within its' pages and she kept it as up-to-date as possible - partly because it helped pass info along to the other leaders on the Island and partly because it helped keep her mind focused and running as sharp as possible...it also kept her mind off the radio as it played quietly in the background, the sounds of everyone in the first-out convoy talking as they finished preparations to head out. God protect them, she whispered as she went back to her notebook and kept going over the data inside....
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
