(Not sure the rules regarding this, but, in order for me to be able to make a post that isn't like, a single paragraph, I guess I'll make up a generic NPC doctor seeing to Haley? If anyone has a problem with this, let me know and I'll edit/change it or do whatever's needed.)
Looks like Haley didn't need to go find a dictionary, because hey, there was seemingly one with two legs, a voice that should be narrating movie trailers and holding a shotgun standing right next to her. Despite everything, even including the talk of raiders kidnapping group members the atmosphere did feel rather calm and friendly what with the huge walking dictionary nerd and the apparent former drug thief chatting it up like old pals. The girl gave a grin at the "still kicking" comment. Certainly did count. "Ayup. Guess we all got that going for us."
Haley gave yet another yawn, blinking a couple of times and pinching the bridge of her nose. "Blegh. Alright, let's get this done I guess. 'Cos I'm literally falling asleep on my feet here." She followed Alexander to the medical wing, giving a return smile and wave to Stephanie's nod. As they entered, a doctor stood up from a chair and looked over the three of them, turning to Alexander. "New faces? Okay, sure thing Pepper, I'll get to work." He turned to the two of them. "Should have you two patched up in no time." He gave them both the typical once over first, checking them for bites, injuries, etc. Satisfied that both were nibble free, he looked to Haley, and more specifically, her bandaged noggin. "Mind if I take a look there miss...?"
"Haley." Came the response as she carefully unwrapped the bandage. It was far less painful this time round, seeing as it hadn't been sat there for ages and stuck to the wound like last time. The doc looked over at it, visually checking it over. "Ooh. Yeah. that's going to need stitching." He opened up a drawer full of medical supplies, made sure the equipment was sterilised and reached over, applying a disinfectant which like before in the car on the way over, stung like heck. "Okay, you might feel a little prick here Haley, but it'll all be over soon. The worst part's already over."
Seemed this comment opened some sort of floodgate of snark, as Haley simply said "Well yeah, you're touching me. Ow." The doc gave a small chuckle at the comment, and continued working, trying to figure out a way of starting a conversation to distract her. "So, how old are you?" The smartass was still strong with this one. "56. A lifetime of not smiling has given me... ow... has given me amazingly smooth skin." This wasn't how the doctor thought the conversation would go down, but, hey, Haley was distracted by having to think of funny little quips like that so, it worked all the same. "Riiiight, sure you are."
A short while later, the doctor had finished his work, and had applied a fresh bandage over it, disposing of the relatively new, but still bloodied one. "Okay. Take it easy and try not to open that up again. You're lucky you didn't lose your eye. Couple of centimetres and you'd be going around looking like a pirate with an eyepatch." Haley gave a smile, slightly adjusting the bandage again so it sat more comfortably. "Thanks for the help. Oh! Think it'll scar?" The doc nodded. "Sorry to say, but, yes. Won't be as bad now it's stitched rather than just healing on its own but that's not going to be going away any time soon." The girl didn't seem to mind, in fact, she seemed to be relatively happy with that outcome. "Heh, that's gonna look so cool."
(Rodney, lemme know in your next post if your character is injured at all, or if something would come up in your overall checkup so I can have the doc act accordingly.)
